Jarleth Eaton and Cam McFarlane review all the action from Edgbaston on the final edition of the T20 Blast Podcast for 2024, which included the highest ever partnership and lowest ever 20 over a side score for Finals Day. Plus, they analyse exactly why Gloucestershire won, and Jar chats to the MVP of the the tournament David Payne, who took 33 wickets to equal Alfonso Thomas' record of the most wickets in a Blast season. After five months of action, we've arrived at the greatest day in the English domestic calendar. For the second straight year, and for the third year in four, it's an all South Group Finals Day. Jarleth Eaton and Cam McFarlane are with you direct from the Seat Unique Terrace at Edgbaston to dissect quarter final week in the 2024 Vitality T20 Blast. They look at the games in reverse order, starting with an absolutely outstanding effort from Gloucestershire to defend 138 against Birmingham Bears, who lose their fourth quarter final in a row in this competition. Attention then turns to Somerset beating Northants at Wantage Road, before the boys look at how Sussex cruised past Lancashire and Surrey safely dispatched Durham in the other two last eight ties. Each of the winning captains in the shape of Jack Taylor, Lewis Gregory, Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan join the show to dissect how their team progressed to Finals Day, before Jar and Cam take a final look at another awful week for the North Group, and an excellent one for the South Group. After a drama filled Friday Finale, Jarleth Eaton and Cam McFarlane return to dissect it all in the latest T20 Blast Podcast. The boys look at all eight games from the final round of group matches, as Northants defeated Lancs in an epic, Birmingham Bears finished top of the North Group to send Leicestershire out, and Yorkshire lost to Notts to allow Durham to sneak into fourth following their victory at Derbyshire. The boys hear from Lancashire's Keaton Jennings and Bears star Moeen Ali, before they look at the action in the South Group, where Essex lost to Hampshire to send Gloucestershire into the last eight, Somerset lost to Glamorgan to send Sussex into a home quarter final with their win over Middlesex, and Kent demolished Surrey to end their season on a high. Jar then speaks to BBC Radio Kent's cricket commentator Ben Watts about why the Spitfires struggled this year, before Cam rejoins him to look back on the Group Stage and to give their predictions about who is favourite to lift the title when the knockout stages come around in September.
