The time on the table the guys cover the wild world of console modification.
First person shooters, why did it have to be first person shooters. Listen in as John, Aaron, and Mike play a bit of Gundam Evolution. Is it Overwatch? or Paladins? or just a generic reskin in gundam form.

this week at the table the guys talk about abridged anime and the insanity they bring.
On this weeks episode the guys try something new. And we learn mike is a sadist for choosing terrible "B" movie trash.. So this episode's a little different guys, the idea is, you load up the movie, and watch alongside us as we talk shit. This episode we're subjecting you to the horrid trash fire known as Piranhaconda. It doesn't get much more B than this boys and girls. But it manages to have Micheal Madsen in it's cast. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's where like, 90% of the budget went. Welcome to, Table Traxx https://youtu.be/syl1KrwyMhM Here's the YouTube link we used for the episode, if you've got YouTube premium you can watch ad free the same way we did! If you guys like this, we'd love to do more. So send us some suggestions for shitty movies to hit up.
Well the guys are still trying to enrage each other and this is mike's test of will, can he hold on or will he lose his shit? It all started when John showed Mike a video from a Youtuber he recently discovered. The response he got was about as far from what he expected as you can get. And thus began a years long tirade anytime said video was brought up in conversation. In today's episode, Mike and John go over a series of videos from the Mother's Basement YouTube channel, specifically his series on Mike's personal favorite anime, Sword Art Online.
One of the more obscure facets of internet and YouTube culture, TIHYDP videos, short for This is How You Don't Play, can be found in droves all around the platform. Strangely enough, these videos all seem to center around one particular gamer, a streamer by the name of Phil Burnell, better known by his online moniker of DarkSydePhil. In this episode, we talk about the TIHYDP community, Phil's streaming successes and failures, and whether or not these videos should be seen as cyberbullying.
Gotta run gotta run now Gotta run gotta run now And spryly Gotta climb gotta climb now Way up highly Gonna get gonna get you, Dr. Wily I am Mega Man, Here's my mega plan YOU DIE! On today's episode of Retro Remix, John and Aaron talk the Blue Bomber himself, the one and only Rockman! Or Mega Man if you prefer. On the chopping block today is the Mega Man Legacy Collection. Why did they split it into two discs? Why do both volumes look so different? Let's find out together shall we? And then there's the question of whether or not the Legacy Collection is even good compared to other releases of these games. There's even some talk of other Mega Man series in this one, so be sure to have a listen if you love Jump N Shoot Man as much as we do.
This week on the table the guys cover buffy the vampire slayer as Mike tries to get a server up for the podcast listeners. Before Sunnydale, Buffy Summers had a whole life. She was a cheerleader, on student council, and well liked by her friends. She just happens to spend her nights staking the bloodsucking undead that the masses around her seem blissfully unaware of. Ya see, she has a destiny of sorts, whether she wants it or not. So everyone knows the series, but damnit this movie came first! So the guys sit down to do a review. Was the movie good? Does John shit on Joss Whedon for being kind of a douche? Can Aaron do the review without comparing the movie to the series that came five years later? Those questions have answers, and those answers are in this podcast, just waiting with bated breath for you to open your earholes and hear them. So sharpen your stakes, and make sure you bring your Aqua Net, for tonight's episode of The Table!
On this episode of the table the guys cover horror in video games. Horror's been featured in video games for well, as long as there've been video games actually. In tonight's episode, we go over some of our favorite horror games. The good, the bad, and the ones that Aaron doesn't even consider horror games, just action games with horror trappings. Yeah, John wasn't super pleased with that answer, and since I write these, I'ma talk some shit on him here. Cuz we all know he don't read these. Note: This episode was recorded in the fall of 2021 as part of a Halloween special month that never came to be. So if you hear references to episodes that never happened, or old stuff from back in the earlier days of the pod, there's your reason why. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aip2aIt0ROM Arin Hansen's Sequelitis episode, mentioned in this episode, is available on Youtube at the link above. We're not sponsored by him or anything, John just mentions his content a lot, and context is king. We've got a theme song now! Thanks to Anthony Conklin! The world most favorite zombie killing, killer zombie, mutated...thing series of games.
On this episode of the table the guys talk about there favorite horror movies and the spoofs to go with them. We go over our personal favorite movies of the genre, as well as some of the cornier spoofs to be born from more successful franchises. Does John's history with slasher movies make him less of a girly man when it comes to jump scares? Does Mike have an actual favorite horror movie, or is it more of a sci-fi thing? There's only one way to find out, and that's to step into the decrepit haunted house where we record, and take a seat at... Video games and media didn't you guys do this before? No, no we did not in fact. The boys have danced around the topic a few times, maybe even opined on a few specific instances of it here or there. But actually doing an entire episode on it, nah fam. There's been cartoons and comics a plenty around video games, both specific franchises and just gaming in general, and despite our nerdy trio's penchant for gaming they've just been too damned silly to cover them in a proper episode of the podcast. Does John bring up his favorite blue rodent, and the various shows spawned from his gaming exploits? Oh for sure, and does Mike want desperately to discuss the Halo series and its various books and comics and short films as well as take a steaming dump on the Halo series on Paramount +? You know he does. Does Aaron even have any real opinion on this stuff that he hasn't already mentioned somewhere else? Probably not, but the real question is why haven't the guys done an episode on something they bring up constantly on the pod? Truthfully, we don't know, and we have no good reason not to do it. We solve that this week on the table.
Sorry about the audio this time around mike got a new cam and didn't notice that it was set as his main mic. Let us know if you like the straight in and out of the episode? Other wise we will get right back to the S.O.P and keep the theme music.
Don't you just love when you're at the table with your crew for a night of DnD, and some prolapsed anus can't play without using info they shouldn't have? Metagaming is one of the cardinal sins of tabletop role-playing, and can wreck an otherwise fun campaign. In this episode, the boys talk metagaming in games past, possible solutions, and different ways to play with player knowledge without committing this dreadful act. So settle in to your chair, grab your dice bag, and join us for another trip to everyone's favorite classic RPG. And remember, bring a pizza for the DM, and get a +1 to every roll for the game.
When a bigger and better version of a game is released after the original we are here to talk about it. Is it worth the money? Is it good or playable? Are you tired of buying the same game for the umpteenth time? We will answer...some of these questions most likely in each episode as we cover particular series of video games related to a specific character. This episode Aaron and John load up their Walthers and grab the keys to the Aston Martin, cuz we're talking Goldeneye on the N64. We go over the grandaddy of all console first person shooters, the remake that was, and the remake that almost was. Throw in some reminiscing about some of the best multi-player gaming that ever was, and you get episode 2 of The Table Presents: Retro Remix!
