As ENT continues with its collection of Trilogies, Dan and Dan continue with the bumper episode reviews for the Temporal Trek viewing order. Is it the best Trilogy of the season?Does this mean we've peeked?Could this be the end of Vulcan a-holes?Who Exactly Runs Vulcan? These questions and more as we look at the Vulcan Trilogy.
Just when the Temporal Trek makes you think you've left the S3 ENT Xindi Arc - it pulls you right back in!This time we have a few minutes with T'pol and Soval as she decides to stay and lead a ragtag fugitive fleet, escaping their evil Human hating enemy, in their search for a new home... hey that sounds catchy!
After a VERY long break for the Temporal Trek, we are back with Attack of the Cloned Lords of the Flying in Space Poorly Dressed, Faggin's Street Urchin Augments!Three episodes sandwiched together as the Temporal Trek way of watching the show demands it, and actually it might be for the best.Genetic manipulation, medical ethics, morality of science... all of these topics are not discussed in any great depth. What we get is Beautiful people in string vests.Dan and Dan are back, but after this will they want to continue?
A Solo show, and Archer wishes he could say the same.Whilst he runs for the hills Hernandez is gonna give him a magic kiss to make it all better.Reed is being sleezy in a bar and gets into a fight.T'pol is pressured into a marriage to save her Mother' career, but her mother seems more interested in Trip.everyone isn't reading the reports about the Xindi arc!Oh yeah, and what about Hoshi?!?!
It's Valentines Day, the Xindi arc is concluded, Archer is both dead then alive, Heroes are forged... then utterly ignored the minute someone needs to buy a round!Dan and Dan finish Season 3 and move into the early parts of Season 4 as we examine "Zero Hour", "Stormfront Pt2 2154" and "Home" of Star Trek Enterprise.
Season 3 has been like no.96 buses. You wait two thirds for an arc to appear than four episodes of it happens at once.Welcome to the 13th Feb 2154 Otherwise known as The Council,More Twilight (Part 2 of 2154)Countdown and the first part of Zero Hour.Where is Hayes? Oh Never mindReed is still desperate to die a martyrHoshi is the saviour of Humanityand Archer angrily over promises - so T'pol and Trip have to work up a plan to shutdown the Spheres.
So its here, the episode we knew was coming and wondered how it would impact the rest of Season 3 Enterprise?Does having a long lost temporal cousin in the Expanse make it baffling why we haven't had more of this? Does it only present problems when watched in the Temporal Trek way?Does it have the single most believable Reed scene ever?... well yes that's one answer I can give. For all the other answers welcome to E2, or E Squared, or E Deux.
After the epic episode from last week, comes a great character heavy piece that Dan and Dan have been waiting on.We just have one question, why wasn't this all season long?
This is the BIG moment for Season 3.We've been waiting a LOOOOOOOONG time on the long road to finally get to the "arc" and it comes all at once.Azati Prime is in sight (providing the you're behind the right moon)The First section of Twilight set in 2154 shows that without Archer the NX-01 arent even there yet.and Damage shows what Archer needs to do to continue the mission, but is it a step too far?
It's the return of our watch-a-long format for the rewatch of Star Trek Enterprise Season 3 "Hatchery".MACOs being out-matchedArcher is out of sorts AGAINReed gets to blow up some XindiBUTTravis has something to doHoshi has a momentEV suits are worn (at first)Phlox gets to be his typical Phlox selfso is it a better episode than we think, or have we been spat in the face with an enzyme thats playing mind tricks with us?
Really in a Temporal Trek we just watched Phlox talk to himself whilst naked for three days. But going by the 1st hand evidence of Phlox's record we can construct his journey through an Anomaly.Vulcan Toilet habits are of course discussed as we continue to bring only the finest intellectual examination to the Trek franchise.
Its the end of 2153 and we only NOW meet the race responsible for the arc.Reed is truly awful in this episode and our three Reed-treds (Reed Hatreds) attests to it!Random MACOs we never see again, an Alien Canary or advance scout and fisty cuffs!
With Degra in the Brig, Archer can't wait to tell him everything he knows, oh wait, no he remembers he is the Abductor this week. Instead of pucnhing his prisoner in the kidneys he's gonna give him a blood worm lymphatic cleanse. What a nice guy. Will Degra fall for the plasma screen ploy?and alsoWHERE. IS. HAYES??!??
Shran is BACK!Do you think Archer might get his hints that something isn't on the level?A combined Human/Andorian with one Vulcan mission to steal a prototype Xindi weapon, nothing will possibly go wrong when it's 4:2.The main lesson to learn is don't mess with the Andorian Mining Consortium and evidently don't mess with Phlox or Archer otherwise they will concoct an elaborate torture method worthy of a Kobayashi Maru.
The Enterprise is taken over... AGAIN, nut this time forget pirates or space nazi's its Space Priests! Out to enact their religious war on the heretics in "Chosen Realm".Deejamat (or is it Steve?) will make you feel the Breath of the Makers as Dan n Dan get weird timey wimey feelings of a TOS episode to come so Let That Be You Last Space Priest!
It's the return of the Temporal Cold War, at least we 'think' so.Daniels shows up and has a mission for Archer, one that he already completed in the 21st century on this podcast.Trip is handed a duty roster as the Captain and T'Pol come back as soon as they left for all the 2153 scenes of "Carpenter Street".
The irony of this episode being one that corrupted in editing and the one you're listening to is the cloned recovered copy of the original edit is not lost on us here at TT.Phlox seemingly has a sour-dough starter crew of the Enterprise, is this a sci-fi episode or a romance episode? The 45 minutes never seems to know what it is.Join Dan n Dan, and Sim Dan n Dan as they inject a larvae with some Trek DNA and try to work out what the episdoe was trying to say.
We are back to Twilight, this time for a couple of minutes in the Alt-Timeline we discovered twoo weeks ago.Do these scenes, even out of context, have a value unto themselves?A lot is said with very little and the Dan's opinion of what occurs my surprise you.
Howd'y y'all! It's the first Cowboy episode in Temporal Trek, yet its in the 22nd century. Is the Law, lawful? Will Archer ever follow his own orders? Will the Quartermaster ever get the credit they deserve?Saddle up, lock and download the episode.Gather round the camp fire for some chow and lets shoot out some answers pard'ners.
Happy New Year, you know at this point in life its important to know that some hurdles can be overcome with a little patience...errr hang on its a week since i last said that?!!?Unfortunately for Archer his issues may not be resolved in a matter of hours AND he missed movie night in this Alt-History departure from last weeks timeline. There is no pillow but turn down the lights as we enter our next scene scene of Star Trek Enterprise "Twilight" 2153 part 2.
