Our guest this week is Ken Fitzgerald, a noted professional railroad photographer who shoots special trains and construction projects for large railroads, as well as local transit systems. He has published books of his photo work, and he discusses with us today his early childhood learning about trains where he grew up, and how it shaped his love of trains and photographing them today.

Steve Lee was the Manager of the Union Pacific Railroad's Steam Crew until his retirement in 2010, and everything he had to do to get ready for long trips pulling passenger trains around the country, managing the crew, making arrangements for fuel and water for the steam engines, and what he is doing now in the railroading field.

Our guest on today's show is Bob Krieger, who retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after a long career, and how he was one of the principal members of the UP Steam Locomotive Crew based in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The crew brought one of the largest steam locomotives ever built back to life after being placed in a city park, then operated it and its sister locomotive, the famous 844, around America for decades.

Mike also talks about his hobby of restoring and riding railroad motorcars, the small maintenance vehicles employees used to inspect and maintain railroad rights-of-way.
