Description

The world of leadership is rife with information, listicles and re-hashed advice. We all know that we need to have more difficult conversations, be kinder and more empathetic with those we lead, and walk the path of servant leadership.

And yet we rarely seem to get any closer to developing ourselves as the leaders we wish to be. Instead, we clutter our brains with more information, enact a new promise to ourselves and those around us to lean in and show up more powerfully than we did last time, and somehow remain running around in circles.

There's no shortage of advice available to create incremental change, and they provide exactly that: create incremental change. You get better at doing what you already do, but slightly faster and slightly better. Boring.

This podcast will NOT provide you with incremental change. It will expose your hidden genius, unlock a new level of mastery in yourself, and, provide you paths to creating exponential power and growth.

Being reliable for hard work can be an incredible strategy for success. But when hard work becomes the answer to everything, it can leave us untrusting of our own intuitive wisdom.  The work is to notice our tendency to push over our intuitive sense, notice ourselves picking up the tools and getting ready to do the work, and to the best of our ability, let that go.
Leadership is about meeting the moment. Yet, when people speak from a place of "what is authentic to me," they may lose sight of how their words impact the group. In this episode, Adam Quiney explores how leaders can create a context for people to practice speaking, become alive to the impact of what they say in the space, and discern what the room and the moment most require.
Leadership can be an incredible experience. Yet being a leader is not just about supporting other people to move forward; it also demands that you seek out support, face your own fear, and be willing to take the courageous step beyond your threshold.
Work slop is a new term that Harvard Business coined for AI output that looks polished but has no substance. It looks good enough, passes inspection, and carries very little weight, quietly transferring the actual work to whoever's downstream. But work slop is not new. The same thing has been happening in leadership for a long time through active listening, feedback meetings, and "candid conversations" that take the form of something real without actually touching what matters.
There is nothing wrong with positive feedback. But a feedback-positive culture can train people to accept feedback, nod their heads, and say yes without ever truly letting the feedback reach them. The feedback that makes a difference creates disruption, and leadership is forged by sitting with the discomfort instead of explaining, justifying, or turning it into the next action.
