It's been a while since we posted.  But here we are again.   Season 2 of the Unabashed Truth Podcast kicks off talking some truth about the Gruden Situation. The talk turns a little aggressive, but we speak the truth about the situation.  Starting by speaking about the culture of inclusion and why the minority groups are always pitted against each other.   As always, thanks for listing.  And keep it Unabashed.
We discuss all things from The Ohio State University Controversy, Palestine-Israel Conflict, and of all things religion.  Why do we talk about it, because we are all about being Unabashed! In this episode of the podcast, Scalf and myself invite Matt Jacobs from Northwest Ohio Sportstime, to discuss the effects that parental figures have on a child and subsequently an adult's life.  We began our discussion first and foremost paying our respects to the Great DMX.  Then we jump headfirst in our discussion, speaking about how our parents as well as other parental figures had on our lives and can have effects on others' lives. Since our guest has deep knowledge of sports, we focus on how coaches can help drive a child to another level.  Specifically focusing on baseball.  Enjoy.
One week just was not enough for us, so we decided to have another week to discuss the destructive force that is "Cancel Culture."  We went into a few real thoughts on the cancelling of various races or people throughout history.  With more of a focus on races and cultures being removed or forgotten about.  However, as always we do everything in our power to keep it all the way truthful and honest as we talk.   We hope you enjoy this discussion and as always speak the truth.
On this episode of the podcast, we discuss the craziness that is "cancel culture".  Similar to most people today who call have an opinion on why cancel culture is ruining today's world. But we actually go into a deeper diver on "cancel culture" looking into how this culture has been around for centuries. We look throughout various periods of history and discuss how "cancel culture" is not something new but rather something that we finally provided a name to.  So as people are up in arms about how it affects people today we look at how it has had a lasting impact on so many other cultures in the world.   Have a listen and let us know what you think.  Enjoy and always Speak the Truth.
One of the most overlooked stories that happen in 2013, was the arrest of Richard Schmidt.  We take the time to discuss his story and what impact it had on the NW Ohio community in 2013.  We talk about our overall connection and understanding of him and his store in Bowling Green Mall.  We dive deep into his story and then transition to a discussion on race and how America has had multiple opportunities to quash racism in this country. when it comes to race.
In this episode, we discuss some of our favorite movies with our first guest, Scalf's mother, and her husband.  We start by discussing some of our favorite movies of all time and then take it into our favorite sports movie discussions.  We discuss everything from Friday Night Lights to He Got Game. And in our typical fashion, we Speak the Truth on how these movies impacted sports for the better and in some instances the worst.
In episode 3 of the podcast, we give our unabashed opinions and thoughts on hip hop.  We discuss how it has impacted our lives in a multitude of ways, from creating relationships with our family members friends, and also how hip hop allowed us to simply fit in in the crazy society.  We look at the overall impact that Hip Hop has not only had on the black community in America but how it has made a lasting and direct impact on the world for better and worst in some instances.  But overall we believe that Hip Hop is the most important genre of music in the world.  No matter what your favorite genre of music is, each and every person has a Hip Hop song that has impacted them.  In understanding that we go from just discussing our opinions about hip hop, to something deeper and how hip hop can not only change the world but it also has the ability to bring people of all races and nations together.   No matter what we speak about we will always Speak The Truth here on The Unabashed Truth Podcast.
In this episode, we honor the Late Great Kobe Bryant, "The Mamba" "Bean".   Over the course of our friendship, one of the few things that we were able to bond over was our A) Our Love for the Lakers and B) Our Favorite Basketball player.  From his infamous confident press conference where he decided to take his talents to the NBA, to the final years of his life where his impact on society stretched beyond the Basketball court, we embraced him as our Michael Jordan.  Check out this podcast and follow us on our discussion on how we felt about Kobe Bryant as we pay tribute to the father, husband, man, and basketball star.  (clip about "My Three Rings" is credited to Nike Basketball)
On the initial episode of the Unabashed Truth, we keep it simple and discuss the issues of today.  With all of the craziness happening in the world, we take a quick look at those issues the good, bad, and ugly.  Even through all of that we take some time to catch up on daily life.
