The Undercard

In this week's episode we spend the first 15 minutes or so covering Fight Night: Korean Zombie v Ige before ending the review on a high with Casey O'Neills submission win. Next we dig into the bulk of the episode (14:18) with both of us discussing and giving our verdicts on the upcoming PPVs and Fight Night cards (to which there are a lot to come). Rounding out the episode we look forward to this weekend's Fight Night: Gane vs Volkov (49:05) and pick out some fights on the card that we will be keeping our eyes on. This week's episode we cover the stacked PPV card that we got treated to watch, opening up the episode it's only right we begin with Israel Adesanya's dominating performance over the Italian Marvin Vettori, next up we move down the card and cover the second title fight and the rematch between Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno and more so the fantastic showing from Moreno (08:45), the fight we both had marked as our main event is next to be reviewed and what a fight from Leon and a tough test in which he prevailed (18:20), before rounding out the main card we give our verdict on Belal Muhammad's decision victory over the ageing Demian Maia (30:40) and Paul Craig's highlight finish over the then undefeated prospect Jamahal Hill (39:45). Covering three fights on the pre lims, we cover the two Brits Jojo Calderwood (47:20) and Darren Stewart (49:00) before covering the Fight of the Night between Drew Dober and Brad Riddell (51:00). The final segment of the episode we quickly give our views on the upcoming Fight Night: Jung vs Ige and point out some bouts to keep an eye on. In this weeks episode we start by discussing the Fight Night just gone and open with a review of the Fight of the Night between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Miguel Baeza before covering the first of two Heavyweight bouts on said card with Harris v Tybura (07:02) followed by Rozenstruik v Sakai (11:35). The second half of the episode, we review this weeks upcoming stacked PPV card working from top down beginning with the main event between Adesanya and Vettori (25:10), the rematch between Flyweights Figueiredo and Moreno is next up and if it's anything like the first match then we're in for a treat (39:40) before we give our views on what we both think is potentially the Fight of the Night between Britain's very own Leon Edwards and UFC fan favourite Nate Diaz (47:40), closing out the episode we give a quick review of Belal Muhammad's fight v Demian Maia and give some shoutouts to the Brits fighting on this weeks card. Bit of a changeup in this week's episode. We wrap up this week just gone UFC card 'Font v Garbrandt' and quickly review the main, co-main and the Fight of the Night winner - Tafa v Vanderaa before delving into the crux of the episode. What a card we had this weekend and it's only right we start with Oliveira's very impressive TKO victory over Michael Chandler for the Lightweight championship before moving onto Barboza's highlight reel-esque delayed KO win over Shane Burgos (13:00), next up is Beneil Dariush v Tony Ferguson and the decline of El Cucuy and what next for him (24:18) rounding out the main card we discuss the remaining two decisions - Schnell v Bontorin (34:28) and Chookagian v Araujo (37:50). After picking two fights each to keep an eye on, we discuss the first of Rakeem's two picks, Jordan Wright's first round TKO win over Jamie Pickett (42:35) before covering Rakeem's second pick, Muniz's first round technical submission victory over the legendary Jacaré Souza (44:40), rounding out this weeks card Josh covers the first of his pick, Lando Vannata's decision win over Brit Mike Grundy (49:07). Moving onto this weeks upcoming Fight Night, we both selected one fight each that we will keep our eyes on. Josh covers his pick - Medeiros v Hadžović (53:35) before Rakeem mentions his - Tafa v Vanderaa (58:20) and seeing out the rest of the episode we both give our verdicts on the co-main and main event for Fight Night: Font v Garbrandt. This week's episode starts with both of us giving our views on this weekend's main event between Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson followed by covering the Welterweight bought between Magny and Neal (07:29), next we jump up three divisions and give our views on the Heavyweight clash between de Lima and Maurice Greene (11:22) before discussing the first of two KOs on the main card, this one being Alex Morono's fantastic performance on short notice against fan favourite Donald Cerrone (17:12) and the second being Gregor Gillespie's first win after eighteen months out of the octagon versus Carlos Ferreira (22:50), after covering the main card we move onto the undercard and more so the shocking inconsistent scoring of the judges for the Jun-yong and Nchukwi fight (25:53) and Carlston Harris' anaconda choke win against Christian Aguilera to open up the Fight Night(30:03), returning back to the main card we discuss Phil Hawes decision win over Kyle Daukaus (31:27). Today's episode begins with reviewing a KO of the year candidate with Procházka's spinning back elbow vs Dominic Reyes before discussing the wrestling match up between Mehrab Dvalishvili and Cody Stamann (11:02) next we give our views on TJ Dillashaw's injury ruling him out of this weekend's upcoming Fight Night (13:30), going back to this week's Fight Night we cover Giga Chikadze's body kick on Cub Swanson and the state of the stacked Featherweight division (16:38) following the uncertainty of this weekend's upcoming Fight Night and the handful of confirmed fights we spend the rest of the episode discussing the state of the Lightweight and Welterweight divisions with the upcoming fights in the respective weight classes. In this week's episode we run through and review UFC 261 opening up with Usman v Masvidal II before delving into Thug Rose's mad head kick KO on Weili (16:33), Shevchenko's dominating performance versus Andrade is next up (27:36) followed by coverage of Weidman's horrific leg break in his rematch against Uriah Hall (42:20), next we discuss Anthony Smith's perfectly placed low kick against the rising star Jimmy Crute (49:20) rounding off the episode we give our verdict on the state of the light heavyweight division, the upcoming Reyes v Procházka bout and the UFC 261 Fight of the Night winner Aori v Molina and the heart shown by Aori in particular.
