In a rather uncharacteristic episode (based on what we’ve seen so far this season), Papa Din, Mama Bo, and Lil’ Grogu take a trip to planet to find the Mandalorian fleet that used to be under the helm of Bo Katan. What ends up happening is full on cameo laden, quasi-crime noir story that has our favorite Mandalorian dealing with his (all of a sudden renewed) discontent for droids, Bo throwing them hands, and Grogu’s inability to refuse a snack. These two episodes of Peacemaker are two drastically different pieces of work, that are still aligned with the overall premise of the show so far: will Peaemaker give in to his wants to be loved or his need to deal with his hurt. From a competent Chris getting showered with love in the alt-dimension, to his love (allegedly) dropping a dime on him in the real world. This show toes the line with humor and heart, because there are some incredibly funny bits. Some scenes are very hard to watch, but James Gunn strikes a balance between ridiculous and serious.
