Welcome back to the conversation as Darbi and Jessica chat about fear in the Christian life and what God's Word has to say about it - and Him.
God tells us in His Word countless times, "Do not be afraid." Join us as we discuss how this applies today to the Christian life as we navigate a pandemic, political unrest and the various issues permeating our society at present.
Join Darbi and Jessica in the conclusion on what it means to accept yourself as God made you, and how that ties in with the various personality assessments and world views of today.
The topic of acceptance in who we are and who God made us to be follows closely behind finding our identity. In part one of this episode, Darbi and Jessica discuss the various paths to that acceptance and why it is important in order to live out God's plan for your life. Disclaimer: we chat about the Meyers Briggs Personality Type Indicator as well as the Enneagram. While some have found these to be useful tools in identifying strengths and weaknesses within themselves, we must stress that they can very quickly become an idol or an excuse for certain behavior. The Enneagram also has its roots, as we have recently found, in the occult, so we do not advise utilizing it as a primary resource for growth. Like most tools, you can be informed but not allow any of those things which are not glorifying God to dictate your life.
The conversation continues as Darbi and Jessica discuss the motivation behind what we do, whose approval we are seeking, and the difference between going in God's will and against it.
In this series, we discuss what it means to be grounded in who God says you are, and the detriment of labels such as "introvert" or "extrovert" to what God has called you to do.
In part 2 of this series, Darbi and Jessica continue with discussing the most commonly asked questions in the faith including whether or not Christianity is just a psychological crutch, if it takes a blind leap of faith to believe in Christ, and many more.
In part 1 of our Question and Answer series, Darbi and Jessica discuss and attempt to answer the most commonly asked questions about Christianity, including why God allows evil and suffering, how Jesus can be the only way and more.
Join us for part two in our conversation about conversion, new faith, and the struggles of believers.
