Henry Fonda was keen to produce and star in it, managing to bring it to the silver screen under the brilliant direction of Sydney Lumet in 1957. It went on to be nominated for 4 Academy awards, I guarantee this classic, powerful movie will not disappoint!

The Parasites By Daphne Du Maurier, Book Selection For August

Our first vintage book club selection is The Parasites by Daphne Du Maurier. From it's explosive opening this wonderful book takes you on an intriguing journey, however it wasn't the book itself that first attracted me to read it! It was the story behind its creation, the setting where Daphene Du Maurier wrote it! The gatehouse of the grand old estate Menabilly on the dramatic Cornwell Coast. If you would like to add to the discussion, you can visit my book club blog at www.thevintagereadshow.com or check out The Vintage Read Show YouTube channel and leave a public comment.
