Ep34 with the Fantastic Hayley Carloni and it is FIRE!!!
Hayley is a top tier visual artist, from film to design , from photography to art direction, from VJing to stage design she really is the epitomy of a preforming creative and innovative artist!!
She is the creative director of Fractal Fest a super cool east coast music festival and a hub of art and community!
She is also the co-founder of coven.nyc, an event series that aims to bring together elements of Kink/BDSM, sound system culture and underground experimental bass music while also platforming folks who identify as black, brown, femme, queer & non-binary who often slip through the cracks of the current patriarchal & capitalistic structures mirrored in the music industry.
We really had an awesome fiery and fueled conversation, it was super unique and powerful!
For Hayley's SET we dive into her process of creating extremely unique visuals through After Effects!!
Thanks again to Hayley for being so vulnerable, open and sharp in our conversation!!!

We have arrived at Episode 31 and this weeks guest is my dear and close friend Spencer Sterling / @spencersterling1565 An Audio/Visual swiss army knife!
Spencer is my go to guy when i have issues or am stuck with something, his knowledge is super widespread. He has worked on massive commercial shows for @SilentPartnersStudio working with the likes of Katy Perry, Beyonce and many many more, he more recently was poached by the massive AI company @RunwayML to work on secret projects for them and since has engrossed himself in the current AI boom.
We had an awe inspiring convo jumping from Spencer learning TouchDesigner in college to finding notch, to the massive differences of working on your own projects and massive commercial shows, to the ins and outs of stable diffusion and some truly interesting history and current trajectory of AI in general.
For Spencer's SET he showcases for us the absolutely insane Laser mapping set up he has built with @TouchDesignerOfficial , @NotchVFX and @Ableton , it's quite fascinating and extremely inspiring.
Spencer is the sweetest smartest dude I know, and I cherish our friendship and wholly appreciate him coming on!!!

For Episode 25 we have the great and powerful
Dániel Molnár aka @FunctionStore !
For those not familiar with Daniel, he is the developer of the extremely powerful Function store tools, a collection of @TouchDesignerOfficial hacks and tools that help improve workflows as well as manipulate the default behavior of TD, a must have tool for any TD user. Dan is also a talented artist and musician and performs super inspiring audio/visual shows, go check out his most recent performance Sanity Check on his Youtube!
In our convo, we get into Dans origins growing up in Hungary and studying Electrical Engineering , being a music nerd from a young age, getting into programing and consumer electronics, moving to Berlin during the pandemic and being introduced and engrossed in TouchDesigner , him starting to develop tools for touchdesigner and how it felt to be invited and honored with an insession invite by derivative, solving problems through supporting and developing tools , what it means to be an audiovisual artist , the nature of the universe being random, but is it random?
Lastly we dive into the function master's involvement with @ledpulse-technologies a volumetric LED module, we also take a look at the software Daniel built for it.
For Dan’s SET, we jump into his unbelievable touchdesigner projects, starting with a suite of his tools made for making mind blowing visuals, including the ComplexOP and its many use cases, The layer separator and its extremely useful exploding ability as well as the complexFractal and its fractal exploring ability.
We then jump into FNS and explore the functionStore toolkit and its amazing functionality.
I love Daniel and his mind is fascinating to explore. After recording this episode I was instantly a Fumctionstore Tool convert and haven't looked back since, so go download it now.
*Unfortunately the first half of the podcast got a bit messed up, thankfully there was a backup, the audio and visual is still intact but the bells and whistles aren’t on display until the SET portion where things pick up!

For Episode 24 we are back with a bang. and for our guest this week we have the stunning and powerful
Jack Hurley AKA AntiAlias
Jack is a well known and high level visual artist, playing for the likes of tipper & visual directing the pretty lights tour, he is really killing it, he also develops a tool called AAVJ, for those who don't know AAVJ is an extremely powerful and versatile application built in TouchDesigner for VJing and visual performance,
We get into Jacks origins in fine arts and his early musical endeavors , having huge support to pursue arts from the people around him , getting integrated into the Tipper family and quitting his job to be a full time artist , getting into 3D design , diving into the validity of AI as a tool for expansion , falling, as we all do, in love with TouchDesigner and the sometimes high learning curve of the best software ever made, learning TD from tutorials and the many online mentors,
why he decided to make AAVJ and release it for free , working on one of the coolest audio/visual tours around with pretty lights , educating people on NFTs and blockchain technology and the misunderstandings around it, being inspired and collaborating with other artists and how empowering it is!!
For Jack's SET, we take a super deep look at AAVJ and the new features coming soon , Mr. AA also shows us a few of his signature looks and some insanely useful tidbits and workflows on how they are made.
This convo with Jack was super powerful and informative, jack has such great vibes and is so sharing and open with his life and his techniques, thank you so much for coming on jack!

Theron Pray , the founder of Synesthesia and a master Visual artist!!!
For those not familiar, Synesthesia is an ultra-powerful VJ software, bringing the power of Shaders & GLSL to all, with tools, workflows and features that are second to none .
In our chat with Theron we get into what its like creating tools that close the gap between technical and visual artists, growing up in LA & being fascinated by how the universe works, whcih lead to studying physics in Carlton college, playing music in a experimental tech band and creating custom software's out of a need to connect musicians to visuals, eventually turning it into Synesthesia and what it means to open and run a company, we get into diving down the rabbit hole of VJing, meeting and mixing in with @Datagrama , Theron then gives us his introduction to GLSL and we go deep into Augmented reality and his company AlphaChannel.
For Theron’s SET, we take an up and close look at Synesthesia and some of its amazing features, we then check out Theron's unbelievable content from Boom festival and his killer workflow for projection mapping.

This week on the cast we have a beautiful & super talented Yuval Choen aka @_mini_uv !
UV, is an exceptionally inspiring visual artists, his amazing @TouchDesignerOfficial abilities in not only simplifying but beautifying highly technical and intricate processes results in absolutely stunning and beautiful imagery.
We chat about a lot of interesting conversations, growing up in the “burrows” of Tel Aviv, working in the family business of a photography store, having mandatory military service and the retrospect of that experience and time, post army travels in india, starting his real journey by studying music and sound engineering and shifting into electrical engineering, then discovering touch designer out of a need for a visual/audio environment and then starting a Patreon and passing on his inspiration to others and
what being an artist or a tech artist means , spirituality, intention & nature being god.
For context, this conversation was recorded in the last week of April and towards the end we get into the very contentious and extremely nonlinear, extremely complicated conversation around Israel and the Palestinians.
Me and UV only have our experiences to draw from, and regardless of the fact that we both were born and raised in Israel, there is no definite answer to anything, especially from us.
We try and steer into more interesting aspects of this topic such as being an Iraqi Jew ,Zionism powering anti Semitism ,Conspiracies ,propaganda on both sides ,making connections and communicating with both sides ,separating religions ideology from politics ,making art not war and what it feels like to be an Israeli post October/7th.
In no way shape or form is any of what we are saying meant to hurt or offend anyone, it's 100% out of the need and want of every artist, to express themselves in the hope of making the world a better place.
With that being said…
For UV’s SET he dives into his amazing TouchDesigner projects (available now on Patreon) and shows us a very close up look at Physarum, rendering super high density point clouds & GLSL smoke simulations.
I really loved this conversation with UV he's a real sweetheart and talented individual and for me having this reflection from someone who grew up in the same place as me was really meaningful.
