An awesome raccoon that knows how to get his own snacks, his own booze... AND he knows Karate? That sounds like a good start to this week's episode!Fueled by Habesha Cold Gold, Malort, HighGrain's JJs Fruit Stand, and some kind of boozy boba balls... There are a lot of rabbit holes that we have to resist diving down!If you like this show, or any of the awesome drinking content that I make, please think about heading over to https://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support to become a Gnomie and help things keep growing!
A Dive Into The Cellar.

A Dive Into The Cellar.

When it gets cold outside, I just sort of want to dive deep into my beer cellar... so that's exactly what we'll do tonight. We'll drink some schnapps, drink our beervent beer... and then dive into a big old Imperial Stout - because why not?The whole time, we'll talk about local news like Santacon, and a sale that a lot of folks really think is a little more than just a good deal.

This one is late - and I know it's going to be late. Hung up with working obligations, that's just how it's gotta be this week... and I don't really like it. On the PLUS side, today kicks off Beervent, so I'll hurry to get my first beer in before midnight, and then we'll talk about how I'll make it up to you throughout December!

This week is my favorite holiday - Thanksgiving. It's my favorite holiday to celebrate, and it's also the beginning of another one of my favorite seasons to drink in. What better way to celebrate than with a show that most certainly ISN'T a show?On this week's episode, we drink some Voltage Peppermint Schnapps, A beer that is VERY seasonal (Decorative Gourd from Seventh Son), and then dive into the beer cellar to try a 2019 Straight Jacket from Revolution. This is all to fuel a conversation about upcoming events (you ARE coming to my live show at Cincinnati Christkindlmarkt and the Holiday Craft Beer Extravaganza, right?) Black Friday releases that you need to know about, and the upcoming closure of Cincinnati's only dedicated cidery, Northwood Cider. This episode is sponsored by Cincinnati Christkindlmarket, so I have to give a massive shoutout to them for making it possible, it also wouldn't exist without folks like you who support via Patreon. If you want to become a 'Gnomie' you can go to https://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support - some really cool stuff coming over there in the new year!
The government is moving again, so I'm back to collecting label approvals... that's the good news. The bad news? They're also trying to federally ban weed water. It's definitely time to be loud about your opinions, which is exactly what this show is for!We drink some Casamigos margaritas, we talk about Rogue... it's an action-packed and LONG episode of the show that isn't a show (which might have also been plagued by technical difficulties... awesome)If you like this show, or any of the stuff that I do, you can always support by becoming a 'Gnomie' - just head to https://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/suppport today!I also have to give a huge shoutout to this week's episode sponsor, Cincinnati Christkindlmarkt and their Holiday Craft Beer Extravaganza... where I'll also be hosting a live episode of Drinking With The Gnome on Black Friday this year! Stop by and have a drink with me in person!
I'm Not Ready... I Swear!

I'm Not Ready... I Swear!

The weather is very - seasonal today - and while I swear that I'm NOT Ready... I am getting there. Let's drink some big beers, play with some fire and get even MORE ready! If you like this show, or any of the stuff that I create, you can always go to https://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support Huge thanks to Cincinnati Christkindlmarkt as well as the Holiday Craft Beer Extravaganza for supporting this episode - don't forget to come hang out with me on Black Friday this year for a live recording of 'Drinking With The Gnome'!
I keep reading articles telling me that craft beer is dead, the some kind of boom or bubble is bursting and that we're all doomed. Is that true? Also... why am I drinking Voltage Peppermint schnapps before the holiday season? What can is under the wrap? There's a lot to unpack on this week's episode!

The title might have NOTHING to do with what we ended up talking about, but that doesn't mean that we don't have a lot to talk about on this week's episode. Quite the opposite, actually. I start things off (after the regular technical difficulties) with 'The Schnappening' that was a little sweet... not peaches... but candy-like and delicious. From there we talked about everything from what's happening at Bad Tom Smith in Madisonville to the current status of 'Intoxicating Hemp' here in Ohio. The upcoming Halloween celebration wraps things up for another action packed week! Here's what I drank this week: Kruskovac Pear Liqueur, Streetside Strawberry Jelly Donut Demogorgon.I can't thank you enough for your support of The Weekly Pint. Crowd Source My Cocktail

Crowd Source My Cocktail

2025-10-2101:00:30

I realized earlier in the day that I hadn't had a cocktail on the show (that isn't a show) for a very long time... so I figured I'd remedy that on this week's episode. I ALSO realized that in addition to not having one, I'm also a lousy bartender. These two facts combined together result in the episode's live audience creating a cocktail for me - and it ends up... interesting. To keep things a little tastier, I ended up by cracking into a can of Urban Artifact's 'Fall Bear' brown ale... a NOT sour beer from the brewery that way too many people think aren't able to make a not sour beer.It was a great episode! If you like this show, or if you like any of the stuff that I make - know that you can always support by going to http://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support
It's a great weekend to open a couple beers and hang out! Cincinnati brings home a whole bucketload of gold medals in a GABF that saw Ohio set new records with it's wins. On top of that... hemp-derived THC is banned? What is going on?!It's a recipe for a good episode of the show that's not a show.If you like this, or any of the stuff that I create, you can always go to http://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support to help keep thing rolling!
Maybe it's a little bit of clickbait... but Oktoberfest season is officially ending for me this week (I mean... I have quite a bit of Oktoberfest beers in my fridge to drink) and I'm gearing up for the next season to come rolling in!We crack open a couple of beers (MadTree Light Lime, and a Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald) and talk about all the stuff that's coming up on the schedule!
Sometimes, you just need to drink something a little, well... strange. It's a part of a bigger picture of what's happening in the beverage alcohol space.Let's drink, let's talk... let's figure this out.If you like this show and you'd like to support it, know that you can go to http://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support
That Was Some Good Festing!

That Was Some Good Festing!

2025-09-2401:07:14

Coming off an incredible Oktoberfest weekend... we've definitely got a few things to talk about! We kick it off by drinking a little pour of something from a (fake?) doctor, which ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be, moving right into a couple beers that ended up being just as delicious as I expected. We talk about Michelob Ultra's new role as the best-selling beer in the United States, dethroning Modelo from its former perch. We recap Oktoberfest Zinzinnati... which reminded me that the move down to the river has solidified this as one of the city's best Oktoberfests.March First has moved into self-distribution, and we have to talk about that, too... right before exploring a new product from Charlie Sheen? This is definitely wild.Just as a reminder, this episode is brought to you by folks just like you. If you want to support this or any of the stuff that I do, you can always go to http://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/Support to do so!
This one starts out rough - with a pour of something horrid called 'Yukon Jack Snakebite'. It might even be the worst thing that I've ever tried on this show, which is saying A LOT. I followed it up with a big glass of Fabled Brew Works' Last Call of Cthulu, which was quite the improvement! We talk about Verge Brewing's announcement that they are no longer working on a taproom in Delhi, and have canceled their plans to open their doors after an extremely long and winding road to do so.I talk about Cincy Beer Week, and how it isn't "really" happening this year. I've accepted my failure, and am making a vow to get it all in order for next year. After talking about a lot of upcoming events, we covered Northwood Cider and its status (it's for sale) and then rolled right into a bunch of label approvals to see some of the new products that might be coming down the pike!
It's Pumpkin Season!

It's Pumpkin Season!

The weather is changing, I'm busier than ever... it can all only mean one thing - It's officially pumpkin season! Let's have a drink and unpack it all (not without plenty of chaos as usual...)If you like this show, know that you can support by heading to http://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support
Let's go! It's late, but there are no rules when it's not a show! This week's episode is focused on my weekend of camping with the family, drinking a bunch of beers - and MAYBE a little showdown to spice things up!If you like this show, and you want to support it, and all the other stuff that I do - you can do it by visiting http://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support
Fueled by a conversation about another local taproom, I've been wondering what's going on what I've dubbed the 'Big-Osas' - let's crack open a beer and talk about it!
Listermann Is Closed.

Listermann Is Closed.

2025-08-1901:42:29

It's never an easy thing when a local taproom closes, and it's even worse when it's a local institution like Listermann Brewing Company. I have a ton of thoughts that I've been working my way through - and what better way to work through them than live on a show with you!Grab a drink, and let's see what happens. The Weekly Pint is a live show, and is best listened to live - tune in every Monday night around 9:30!If you like this show, or any of the stuff that I create, you can go to http://www.TheGnarlyGnome.com/support to help it happen!
There are plenty of things happening at any given time here in Cincinnati's drinking scene, and even more that we can speculate about coming in the near future.I think we should do that! Let's get to speculation!
There's been plenty of news lately about how the city is way too dangerous, and it's clearly scaring people away - which is bad for some of our favorite businesses. We need to talk about what we should worry about, or what we shouldn't.Just a reminder that this show wouldn't be possible without folks like you!
