Yay for crab cakes, loved learning about the origins of Old Bay! 🦀
Manhattants! 😂 Besides the brilliant name, love the story.
I loved hearing about the vampires!!! and jalapeño thumbs was cool too haha
I love your information and insights! unfortunately I get very distracted by the 'umms and likes' (often can't finish an epi or refer it to collages bc of it).. I had the same issue in my profession. listening to Obama and the INSANELY long pauses that felt weird to take myself and yet felt wonderful to listen to really helped me break that nervous need to make sound... you're obviously very intelligent and I hope u find the coaching (or editing) to make your casts sharable.
um. unmm, um, um um um .... if that bugs you, skip the hair part; the ums uhs feel like almost every other word and distracts 🤦♀️. the other part of episode was interesting though so give a listen
Why can't Android play your podcasts either on Castbox or on Google Podcasts? Is it because I want to listen to it from Russia?
a cis women centric podcast. even the ads they play are only specific to cis women.
I love the multiple references on Oliver Sacks!!!
this was great!! I laughed so much about The Fartise!!! what a medical marvel haha
they just totally glossed over the fact that the medical student was called Fleisch!!
This podcast has made my long work days feel much shorter. The facts are super interesting and the podcast also has a lot of humour. If you don’t like poop jokes, keep scrolling. Thanks girls!
Please,. please, please buy a thesaurus, learn a multitude of synonyms for "like". While your English may resonate with younger fans, it grates on the nerves of people who use like sparingly!!
Your podcast is an interesting source of sometimes obscure facts which is why I continue to listen. However, as a long time student and speaker of the English language, I wish to remind you of one rule. Vowels followed immediately by single consonants are pronounced as long. Thus, "oviduct" is pronounced like "dose" not like "awful". Otherwise, it's a great podcast!
if you've got a hankering that only bad science movies can fill, might I suggest the podcast 'That's Not How Science Works.' They watch tv and movies and dissect the terrible science.
Gin tastes like pine needles 😬
Cilantro used to taste like soap to me. But now I can eat it 🤷🏼♀️ Every once in a while I get that soapy taste though!
As a preemie, this episode was touching. Thank you!
Love these strange and random facts. Great way to get my daughters more interested in science and history without their usual eye rolling about "boring learning stuff". I like the friendly informal way these presenters chat, and yes, even laugh together. Great work to all the educated smart and well informed women on this show!
Learning about topless dueling just made my day!
i find it funny that the common complaint here is that the girls are too giggly or silly...there are plenty of serious science podcasts out there but these girls decide to present the info in a lighter, funny tone. if everyone lightened up and giggled more wouldnt we all be slightly happier....cmon give it a try, have a little snicker,, let out a laugh....you might be surprised. sometimes its just what the dr ordered. teehee. give up the grouch.
