Shake up those martinis because Episode 20 of The Words Are Not Enough is a 2 PART SPECIAL!In Part 1 Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following:Tomorrow Never Lies1. Bond may be Heading to Norway after-all* Yesterday a Norwegian Bond fan site by the name of James Bond-Magasinet teased "huge Bond 25 news" and today it would seem we have gotten it in the form of a statement from the Norwegian Film Institute. In corroboration with some rumours that were circulating last month, the NFI has been offered a 47 million NOK (Norwegian Krone) grant to a project going by the name "B25" as part of a Tax Incentive Scheme to draw projects with an large international reach to the Scandinavian country (which is about 5.5 million USD). In the statement, Stine Helgeland, the NIF's Executive Director, said “We are pleased that filming of the film with the preliminary title B25 is considering being shot in Norway,” adding that the grant would be “the largest in the incentive scheme’s history.” Past recipients of the grant include Paul Greengrass' 22 July (receiving 17.1mil NOK) and Mission Impossible Fallout (receiving 6.3mil NOK). Truenorth Norway were named as the applicants on the grant and it is said that Truenorth would handle production services in Norway for EON.2. Bond 25 to shoot on Digital* Keeping with Scandinavian theme for today's Bond 25 news, Bond 25 cinematographer, Linus Sandgren, seems to have confirmed to ScreenDaily that Bond 25 will be shot on digital during an interview for his latest film, First Man. This would make Bond 25 the second film the franchise to be shoot entirely on digital, following Roger Deakins much-celebrated work on Skyfall. This would also mark a departure for Sandgren, who has almost exclusively shot on film for his American projects.3. Bond in Spain?* According to a report from Archivo 007, Gregg Wilson, the son of Bond producer-Michael G. Wilson, has been spotted in Cadiz, Spain, prompting speculation that he may be there location-scouting for Bond 25 as he has been involved in scouting locations for the series since Die Another Day. Speaking of, Bond fans will remember Cadiz from Die Another Day, where it stood in for Cuba. Cadiz is also set to appear in EON's upcoming feature, The Rhythm Section, which is what may have sparked EON's interest in the location for Bond 25.4. Will Craig be back for Bond 26?* According to an insider at The Sun, despite the rumours surrounding who will step into Bond's shoulder holster after Daniel Craig, Barbara Broccoli has not seriously considered a single name that has been floated, nor has she or her brother and co-producer, Michael G Willson, drawn up a shortlist of names for potential successors. This insider claims that Broccoli has done this out of "loyalty" to Craig, as she supposedly feels looking for a replacement while Craig is still in the job would be "disrespectful" - adding that Broccoli "cannot look beyond Daniel" as "she values everything h has done for the franchise in the past decade". Furthermore, this insider claims that EON has not even officially ruled out Craig doing a sixth film after Bond 25 - although no further information about this detail was given. It's worth noting that The Sun claims this source has dropped several other big Bond scoops in the past but declined to reveal which ones.* With McQuarrie coming back for M:I 7 and 8, potentially a two-parter, Craig's return for 26 could signal that EON intends to do a similar two-part story with 25-26, or at the very least, plans to go head to head with M:I in 2022 with their own "finale".5. Richard Madden Rumours Never Die* Moving on to even more tenuous Bond 26 rumours, according to Express, we may be closer to Richard Madden taking on the role of 007 than previously thought. According to Lorraine Kelly, she bumped into Madden at a Nation Television Award... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support
"HOLD THE PRESSES! This just in..." Episode 19 of The Words Are Not Enough is a Bond 25 Emergency News Update! In this episode Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following:1. Bond 25 has found a DP* Earlier in the week, Variety's Kristopher Tapley broke the story that Academy Award-winning Swedish DP, Linus Sandgren (best know for La La Land and First Man) will be joining Bond 25 as Director of Photography, saying "It appears Linus Sandgren is shooting the next Bond". IndieWire has now confirmed this story, citing Sandgren himself as their source. 2. Seydoux to return* The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye reported that Cary Fukunaga had confirmed Lea Seydoux's return to the franchise, offering the concise comment "Lea will be returning".* Variety's Justin Kroll then corroborated Bamigboye's reporting, stating that a source had confirmed the story to Variety. * What this return could mean for 25 (continuation of Spectre's story) * What kind of role will Madeleine play in the movie (OHMSS-style death speculated among fans) - we weigh in * Confirms that Monica Bellucci probably won't be returning as rumoured (although does confirm they were looking to bring a Bond girl back for 25 - something Barbara Broccoli has been trying to do since TND)3. Casting call for two women and a villain* Kroll also reported that "EON is looking for two other actresses - one would play an MI6 agent who works with Bond and another, a mystery woman - as well as the Bond villain."* Alleged insiders then added that "Rami Malek was being eyed for the [villain] role, but his schedule on the last season of Mr Robot, which shoots from March through July, makes it unlikely he will be able to take the gig, even if EON offered him the part". * Does this mean Blofelwill not be returning as the villain?4. Harris, Whishaw, and Fiennes to return* In his conversation with Cary Fukunaga, Baz Bamigboye also confirmed that Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomi Harris would be returning as M, Q, and Moneypenny respectively. Cary seemed eager to work with the returning crew and the rest of the British talent likely to fill out the cast saying "You have some of the best actors in the world here, why wouldn't I have the best coming back?!" * Interesting that Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner was not included in that list of MI6 regulars returning as he has been a staple of the Craig era Vauxhall.5. Cary Fukunaga suggested to be writing Bond 25 in addition to directing* In Justin Kroll's Variety piece, Cary Fukunaga is reported to now be writing Bond 25. In the article, Fukunaga is listed as the sole writer two times and no reference is made to any other writers. Bamigboye suggested that Purvis and Wade were on-board to write and that Fukunaga was having "major input" in the direction of the script, but this does not appear to have been based off of new information obtained during his interview with Fukunaga. It is very likely Bamigboye is basing this off of the uncited rumour that Bond 25 would be going back to using the Purvis and Wade treatment following John Hodge's departure. Fukunaga rewriting the film lines up with his earlier comments from last week about the film still being written. * Confirms earlier story that EON were looking for a writer/director for Bond 25 * If Purvis and Wade are in fact out - were EON looking for a writer/director because they were keen to rewrite/replace their original treatment6. Norway as a Bond 25 filming location* Norwegian outlet, Bergens Tidende, has reported that a filmed dubbed "B25" has applied for a 25% subsidy of costs intensive for filming in Noway. This was then corroborated by Norwegian film commissioner Adrian Mitchell who spoke to Oslo newspaper, Dagsavisen, and said the following "I can confirm that we have been in contact with... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support
It's time to rock and ruin on Episode 18 of The Words Are Not Enough! In this episode Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following:Tomorrow Never Lies* Bond 25 Update * https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/1051651/James-Bond-25-director-Cary-Fukunaga-Casino-Royale-Daniel-Craig-Spectre * It’s only a matter of months before cameras begin rolling on Daniel Craig’s final outing as James Bond and as expected we are starting to get little nuggets of information along the way. * When Director Danny Boyle was originally attached to the project, it was looking more and more as if Bond 25 would be a standalone not acknowledging the events of the Craig era and focusing on a self contained narrative. * Speaking with Inquirer.net, current Bond 25 Director Cary Fukunaga spoke a bit about how he plans to continue and conclude the journey Bond began back in Casino Royale saying the following: * “In terms of what I can bring to change the character, Bond is on a character arc that started with Casino Royale, and I will be carrying that on. * “There will be changes, I am sure. As in any story, a character has to change in order [to have] a narrative.” * And that’s not ALL we got, Fukunaga even teased his progress on planning the film’s action set pieces saying * “A little bit, but not all yet." * “I am trying to get all the narrative stuff sorted out and have a good story to tell." * Fukunaga then went on to promise fans that there will definitely be elements of the 007 formula involved saying: * “Yeah, there will be the things in the Bond-verse that you have come to expect,” he promised. “I can’t say too much, though.” * The director also spoke a bit on working with Daniel Craig: * “Daniel is an incredible actor. Outside of Bond, I have been a fan for years of his work. For me, he was the best part of Road to Perdition. * “In his first Bond movie, Casino Royale, he brought an incredible amount of vulnerability and humanity to the character, which was a big shift from Pierce Brosnan’s run." * Months ago it was heavily rumored that Christophe Waltz would not be reprising his role as Blofeld in 25 and to this Fukunaga replied with: * “Who is saying those rumours? We haven’t finished the screenplay, so there is no way that anyone could know that. * "If there is space for [Blofeld] in the story, I would absolutely want [him] there. But I don’t know yet what it’s going to be." * As of now Bond 25 is still slated to release February 14th, 2020* Richard Madden the next Bond? * https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/richard-madden-james-bond-interview?fbclid=IwAR2np2yuIf72_24y6VYQ-FCHmFgrB_1D_n239gsYBKKIERyYMOOeFOwdx0w * Game of Thrones alum and star of the new hit series The Bodyguard has been giving Bond bookies something to talk about recently as he’s become one of the odds on favorites to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond * Now while as of today Nov. 30th, Madden was recently overtaken by Tom Hiddleston, who’s odds are currently 5-4 compared to Madden’s 2-1, during an interview with GQ the actor addressed the Bond rumors saying the following: * “My first reaction,” says Madden, “is always the same reaction, which is the papers make up a story on a Sunday so they can discredit that story on the Monday so they can sell papers on both days.” * “...this is what happens with all these shows, like Tom Hiddleston in The Night... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support

The statement says the following: * Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig announced today that #Bond25 will begin filming at Pinewood Studios on 4 March 2019 under the helm of director, Cary Joji Fukunaga with a worldwide release date of 14 February 2020. “We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure," said Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. * So it seems the True Detective Season 1 and Beasts of No Nation Director Cary Fukunaga will be taking over for Danny Boyle and using the script penned by Neil Purvis and Robert Wade, a story we’ll get to in a moment. * Thoughts on this choice and what it could possibly mean for Bond 25?* Neil Purvis and Robert Wade will be taking over screenwriting duties for John Hodge * Following the departure of Danny Boyle from the next Bond installment, John Hodge exited the project as screenwriter. * Apparently Hodge’s treatment was a re-tooling of the original Purvis & Wade script that had already been approved by Broccoli and Wilson prior to Boyle and Hodge coming onto the project * Now according to Baz Bamigboye from The Daily Mail and the James Bond news site MI6-HQ.com, Purvis & Wade will be returning to Bond 25. * The writing duo are supposedly touching up the script with changes that reflect the wishes of the producers and Daniel Craig * According to Bamigboye, “There’s a keenness for women to be more front-and-centre in Bond 25…" * What do we make of all this and now hearing that Hodge’s script was a retooling of Purvis & Wade’s does that make us more confident in the overall story they are going for?* Dave Bautista wants back into the Bond franchise * The last we saw of Dave Bautista’s henchmen Mr. Hinx in Spectre, he was getting pulled off a speeding train in Morocco, presumed to be killed, thought many fans speculated it might not be the end for the character. * Well, it turns out Dave Bautista himself also believes in the character’s survival. * During the press tour for his latest film "Final Score”, which coincidentally also stars former Bond Pierce Brosnan, Bautista commented on the potential return of Mr. Hinx in Bond 25 saying the following: * "We had hopes, and…they had mentioned it. But yeah still have kinda hopes…I hear it’s been pushed, so maybe there’s a…chance" * He then went on to say, "Yeah I want to be in Bond 25. I’ve been very open and political about it. Like I’ve pursued this role. I would love to revive Hinx in Bond 25. I wanna be a part of it because it’s a historical film. There’s a huge part of me that wants the bragging rights of being that henchman who came back twice, because there hasn’t been many. And I wanna be that guy, I wanna be historical, y’know." * With Richard Kiel’s Jaws being the only Bond henchman thus far to return in the franchise, playing a part in both The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, Bautista would certainly be making Bond history. * Thoughts on the return of Mr. Hinx in Bond 25 and what are the chances the character ACTUALLY... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support

Movies, to which Cavill said the following: * I would love to do it of course. I think Bond would be a really fun role. It’s British, it’s cool. I think that now that I have my Mission: Impossible badge we can do real stunts and really amp it up as well. * Not to say they weren’t doing real stunts I’m just saying it would be fun for me to actually take what I’ve learnt on this and carry it through to a movie like Bond. I’d love to play a Brit. I don’t get to play a Brit very often. So yes, I would love the opportunity and if they were to ask I would say “yes.” * With Bond 25 set to release next Novemeber, EON and Co. no doubt are having initial discussions about who they’d like to have as Craig’s replacement. * DISCUSSION TOPIC: Does Mission: Impossible Fallout further prove that Cavill should be the next James Bond and what are his chances of landing the coveted role?* Bond 25 Casting Call DAS RUSSIA * https://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/articles/bond-25-casting-call?t&s&id=04406 * With pre-production on Bond 25 ramping up, the casting net has been thrown open for leading roles in the upcoming film. Several details on the casting notice confirm what we already know: the film will be directed by Danny Boyle and shooting begins in December 2018 and will run for 5-6 months. * When a similar casting call was made for SPECTRE, it accurately revealed the character for 'Hinx' which would ultimately be played by Dave Bautista. * Although this time there are no character names in the role descriptions, it appears that Bond 25 will feature a Russian male villain, a Russian female (likely be the villain's partner and a 'Bond Girl' part), and a Māori henchman. This also indicates that the new script by John Hodge is in good shape. * The roles are as follows: * Male Leading Role * Playing age: 30’s - 60’s * Russian. (Also open to suggestions of actors from the Balkans or similar) Must speak fluent English. * Characteristics: Charismatic, Powerful, Innovative, Cosmopolitan, Bright, Cold and Vindictive. * Female Leading Role * Playing age: 30 - 45 * Russian. Production is set to begin on 3 December 2018. MGM will partner with Universal Pictures to release the film worldwide. * The untitled sequel will be released in the U.K. on October 25, 2019 and in the U.S. on November 8, 2019. * While the statement appears fairly straightforward, there are actually some interesting bits to cover * First off, the international distribution. Sony Pictures handled distribution of the last four Bond movies, from Casino Royale to Spectre, and while EON opted to go with MGM and Annapurna for domestic distribution when the deal expired, many assumed Sony would still be handling international distribution. The switch to Universal is a huge blow to Sony, which would have garnered some serious coin had they maintained the international distribution rights. * Next, the start date. With all of the higher ups at EON appearing to be 100% on board with the script penned by John Hodge, Danny Boyle is now confirmed to direct 25. * This will make for an interesting timetable for Boyle seeing as how He’s shooting a smaller scale original musical for Working Title this summer starring Kate McKinnon, and it sounds like he’s going to very quickly complete post-production on that film while simultaneously prepping the herculean effort that is Bond 25. The Bond 25 filming date was likely non-negotiable since EON has promised that Fall 2019 release date, so it’ll be interesting to see how Boyle juggles both productions. * This kind of challenge isn’t exactly unique for Boyle, however, as he previously shot principal photography on his 2013 thriller Trance, then put that aside for a year so he could create and direct the London Olympics Opening Ceremony, after which he completed post-production on Trance.* Danny Boyle ALMOST passed on Bond 25 * Even though director Danny Boyle is now confirmed to Direct Bond 25, he was surprisingly hesitant when the project came his way stating recently at his Masterclass at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts: * "I like watching big films but I don't think I'm necessarily good at making them. Then I thought 'no, you shouldn't think like that’." * Bond 25 will interestingly enough mark the director’s first real attempt at a blockbuster film. * While he may have had initial reservations, he soon realized he needed to set aside that mindset and after hashing out the details regarding his idea for Bond 25 with long time collaborator John Hodge, that's when he finally decided to accept the position. * "We have this idea about what we want to do with Bond and I felt we should have a go because of this idea. So we are trying to stay true to our principles." * It should also be noted that Boyle was also driven by his desire to “tackle the unknown” and not get into a pattern of repeating himself. Bond will ultimately allow the Trainspotting director to venture into new territory.* Ian Fleming’s Birthday May 28th * Question for Brody: Fav Fleming NovelQ-Branch* Anthony Horowitz and Forever and A Day * In an Entertainment Weekly Exclusive, Anthony Horowitz revealed the US cover for the anticipated 007 Novel “Forever and A Day”. *... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support

Boyle is said to have a female villain at the centre of his Bond film and he is actively casting the role now.” * Additionally, CashleyPersia alleges that Angelina Jolie is set to play the villain, while Lily James and Dua Lipa, among others, are in the running for Daniel Craig’s co-lead. “I’ve heard that Boyle has committed to a script and casting is underway.” They continued: “Supposedly, the big roles in the script are the female villain and Bond's understudy (another female role). “I hear Sophie Rundle, Lily James, Ella Purnell and Antonia Thomas have auditioned/met with Boyle (though this list is not exhaustive). The role is not a love interest however, [it’s] the co-lead of the film. I’ve also heard that Boyle isn't adverse to discovering a new name and possibly someone who isn't an actress. Though it sounds like a moronic suggestion, I've heard the singer Dua Lipa is high on the list.” The leaker added: “Finally, the main villain has been written with Angelina Jolie in mind. I’ve heard this name for a very long while. I never quite trusted it but Boyle has wanted her since day one and it looks as though she's keen. They are now actively courting her and the script is being adjusted accordingly.”* The rumours of Bond's death may be greatly exaggerated: * Another rumour making the rounds in Hollywood right is that of Bond's apparent death in Bond 25. An apparent source has said the following: “It is written as Craig's final Bond film and I hear Logan being used as a comparison often still.”* MCU-style shared universe for Bond? * Is James Bond about to evolve further into the modern world of shared movie universes ala Marvel and Star Wars? It certainly looks that way and there’s evidence that Craig’s final 007 movie will be the catalyst that sets up the Bond expanded universe. The first whiff of this arrived in June 2017 when The Tracking Board’s Jeff Sneider claimed he’d heard Bond producers were exploring the idea. Sneider, a writer for the Hollywood Insider, tweeted: “I’ve heard the Broccolis have caught Universe Fever and would love to explore other corners of the Bond franchise... simultaneously.”* Bond's got new rules, Danny Boyle counts 'em * Bookmakers have reduced the odds of Dua being named as the Bond theme singer, now making her the favourite, with Ed Sheeran and Jessie J also being strongly touted as potential artists to get involved.* Michael Shannon Bond villain? * Michael Shannon was recently a guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Fallon brought up the potential for Shannon to take on the role of the villain in the upcoming Bond film. Shannon replied with the following: “I think this might have something to do with the fact that out of all the people I’ve been said I resemble – and there’s a rather long list – but the only one that’s probably at the top is a Mr Richard Kiel, who played the fellow Jaws in old timey James Bond movies. Yeah that’s who people say I look like most often. You’d know who’d make a good Bond villain? My cat.”* Deadpool 2's Morena Baccarin weighs in on becoming Bond * While doing an interview with CinePop for the upcoming Deadpool 2, Morena Baccain, who plays Vanessa in the film, was asked who she thought should play Bond next: “I think... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support

He is currently developing a project for Working Title, but with no cast currently attached, there is always the possibility of pushing that movie back to direct the 25th installment in the series. * Boyle has long been in MGM and Eon’s sights to direct a Bond movie, going back to 2012’s “Skyfall” and 2015’s “Spectre.” * Sources tell Variety that “White Boy Rick” director Yann Demange was considered a top choice for the job, but there’s been one last push to go after a more well-known name. * No official offer has been made. * Then a follow up story from Mike Fleming broke just the next day with more details: * When he directed the opening ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics, Boyle helmed Daniel Craig in a filmed bit that involved an action scene with a cameo from Queen Elizabeth II, so there is history between the actor and filmmaker. Boyle had an idea for a very specific 007 movie, and he and his Trainspotting partner John Hodge have teamed up to work out the beats. Hodge is writing that version and if it all works out, that would be the 007 film that Boyle would helm. * Hodge won’t be done for a couple of months, but when he turns in the script, one of two things will happen. MGM and the producers will like it enough to shelve the movie they were contemplating — the listed writers are Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, whose 007 credits include Skyfall, Spectreand Casino Royale — and they will instead make the version that was cooked up by the Trainspotting team. Otherwise, Boyle won’t direct the film and it will be back to the other script, for which MGM and the producers had assembled a short list consisting of a trio of cool directors * Now all that is well and good, but here’s where things get interesting. * On March 6th, According to THR, it was reported that Yann Demange, who was heavily rumored to be a frontrunner on EON’s list of potential Bond 25 Directors, will not only be directing the upcoming Matthew McConaughey film “White Boy Rick”, but has also been tapped by J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele to join the team on HBO’s new series “Lovecraft Country”. * Demange will direct the pilot episode and executive produce the series. * So at this point it would seem that MGM and EON’s backup is looking to be unavailable, thank God for Danny Boyle right? Well, it may be even trickier than we thought. * On March 4th, According to THR, Danny Boyle and Love Actually screenwriter Richard Curtis are teaming for an untitled comedy just set up at Universal. Details are being kept under lock and key, but it is known to be musically themed and set in the 1960s or '70s. Universal is eyeing a shoot as early as this summer, if the casting can come together. * If the project gets the green light, this could serve as a tricky road-bump for the producers at EON should they like the script Hodge producers. * It would seem that progress on Bond 25 is back to step 1, however just yesterday, March 8th, and interesting story emerged from Baz Bamigboye at The Daily Mail. * It would appear that 007 himself is pulling out all the stops to ensure Danny Boyle does in fact helm the next Bond project. * Craig... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support
It's time to dust off those headphones and crank up the volume for Episode 12 of The Words Are Not EnoughIn this episode Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following:Tomorrow Never Lies* Ben Whishaw still not confirmed for Bond 25 * In a recent interview with BBC discussing his return to Shakespearean theater in the role of Marcus Brutus in Julius Caesar, Ben Whishaw shed some light on whether or not he will be retuning for Daniel Craig’s final outing as James Bond * Whishaw emphasises he knows nothing about the next film and can't even be sure he'll be in it. But he enjoyed stretching his muscles in Spectre in a way Q hadn't before. * "I'm secretly hoping that I'll get to do more action in the next one. I'd like to be a little bit more involved - it would be wonderful. * "But we'll see. Like everything to do with James Bond, it's all a mystery at the moment.” * It would seem odd for Whishaw not to reprise his role in 25, and seeing as the only announcement surrounding the project that has been made is Craig’s return and the release date, there’s not reason yet to doubt the young Q’s return…still…who knows there could be a slight chance Whishaw’s days as Q are over. * Christoph Waltz will NOT be returning for Bond 25 and has regrets about Spectre * It would seem that the heresy surrounding Christoph Waltz’s return as Blofeld in Bond 25 can be put to rest as the actor has once again stated that he will not be coming back * This comes from an interview with The Times in which Waltz says the following: * "It was an incredible experience to be part of this postwar cultural phenomenon. Yet I can't say that I was happy at every step of the process. I feel that there are some loose ends with my engagement. And I'm not saying that I'm going to be in the next one. I'm not going to be in the next one.” * The actor then went on to discuss some regrets he had with Spectre: * "But let's say, in terms of my feeling that I have sufficiently served a purpose, there are a few white blotches on that map for me, personally. I don't want to be critical of something that doesn't deserve to be criticized, so that's why I'm being a little cryptic. There are just certain things I am unhappy with. I wish I would have gotten the opportunity to iron those glitches out.” * With this lingering question seemingly put to rest, the question remains as to whether another actor will take over the mantle as Blofeld in Bond 25 (a common bond trope) or will Blofeld simply be put to the side?* All Bond actors Definitively, scientifically, stupidly...Ranked based on their attractiveness * A new scientific study has analysed the faces of all the Bonds, according to the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, and revealed the best and worst looking of them all. * Dr De Silva, who runs the Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic And Plastic Surgery explains how the study works: "The Phi ratio of 1.618 has long been thought to hold the secret of beauty, and now with the computer mapping we can calculate exactly how it applies to men." * The ratio can be applied to faces (or bodies), and the closer the ratios are to 1.618, the more beautiful they supposedly are. * The Ranking: 1. Connery 2. Moore 3. Dalton 4. Brosnon 5. Lazenby 6. Craig* Quick Mention that there has been no official update on Bond 25 thusfar * This comes after Barbara Broccoli stated last year that there would be big Bond announcements coming our way early 2018Q-Branch* James Bond: The Body (new comic series) * Description coming from MI6 HQ * Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce that Ales Kot, the Czech-born writer best known for his work on... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support
Strap on those skis because it's time to escape Blofeld's lair in Episode 11 of The Words Are Not Enough! In this episode Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following:Tomorrow Never Lies:* Ed Sheeran * Speaking with James Cordon while promoting his new album on the Late Late Show, Ed Sheeran discussed his interest in performing a James Bond title song: “With Bond, I’ve had a theme tune written for about three years, just in case,” he said, admitting filmmakers haven't got round to actually asking him yet. “But it’s good, it’s good.”* James Norton * Actor James Norton has overtaken Tom Hardy as the most favoured to assume the role of 007 after Daniel Craig, with bookies upping his odds to 5/2 after this role in McMarfia. * On the Bond rumours, Norton said: “It's lovely, wonderful and complimentary to be involved in that conversation but it's just a rumour mill and that's as far as it goes. I did mention at the time that those scenes would possibly contribute to the [Bond] rumours but McMafia is its own beast. I hope Daniel Craig does five more movies and can keep the rumours on himself. I'm a big fan of his and - selfishly - I'd like him to carry on.”* Female 007 * Teresa May: Speaking with journalists on her RAF Voyager, Teresa May offered her thoughts on the 13th Doctor in BBC's long-running series, Dr Who, being played by a woman. The conversation however, quickly turned to Bond: “I think it’s a great move forward for girl power that there is going to be a female Doctor Who. And one day there should be a female James Bond.” But when asked who should replace Craig, May added: “I don’t know who is being lined up. I read the other day that James Norton was being talked about as a possible James Bond. “I think he did an interview where he said he’d quite like to.” When asked if Norton was her favourite for the part, she replied: “That’s a leading question! I don’t know who the other candidates might be.” * Christoph Waltz: When asked about his thoughts of a female Bond while promoting his latest film, Downsizing, Waltz told Mr Porter: “Why? Because [Italian feminist writer] Oriana Fallaci said so? Come on. Have your own movie if you want. Why does it have to be James Bond? What would be her first name? Jemima? My answer is decidedly not.”* Babs says we shouldn't expect any major Bond news until 2018 * Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, via The Spy Command, Barbara Broccoli confirmed that major decisions regarding Bond 25 will not be made until early 2018, adding that film's director and title are "still to be determined" * Babs also confirmed that the script for Bond 25 is still in development, under veteran Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade: "[They’re busy] working away, trying to come up with something fantastic.” * With regards to the ongoing rumours surrounding the distribution of the Bond film, Babs said this: “It’s exciting to be courted. We’ll hopefully be making that decision early next year.”Shaken but Heard:* Favourite stories of the year* Best snow action sequences in the series* OHMSS appreciation hour SUBSCRIBE to the Men vs. Movies YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/channel/UCAlhR6RxXQux2LWok1cIL6wFollow us on Twitter: @MenVsMoviesLike us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/menvs.movies/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-words-are-not-enough/support

Open up that MI6 dossier because it's time for Episode 9 of The Words Are Not Enough! In this episode Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following:Tomorrow Never Lies:* Christoph Waltz apparently won't be returning for Bond 25 * Speaking on the red carpet at the Festa del Cinema di Roma, Christoph Waltz confirmed to Italian movie news site Talky Movie that he would not be coming back for Bond 25 to reprise the role of Blofeld: "No, I’m sorry, I’m really sad, but that’s the tradition, that there is a new...name. Sorry. I would’ve liked to." * It was previously understood that Waltz had an option to return to a future Bond film, and these latest comments contradict comments the actor has made in the past stating he would only return if Craig was still in the lead role. * MGM works out new distribution deal * MGM and Annapurna Pictures have formed a new joint venture for theatrical distribution in the U.S. With MGM moving back into distribution, it seems like the natural set-up to distribute the next Bond film* Monica Bellucci * This Tuesday evening in Rome, where she was feted with the Virna Lisi lifetime achievement award, Bellucci smiled at reporters who asked her to comment on the rumors, telling them: “I can’t say anything.”* Denis Villeneuve will NOT be doing Bond * In an interview with The Playlist, Denis Villeneuve spoke out about the recent rumours surrounding his involvement in Bond 25: “The thing is I don’t now about that, but listen. Daniel Craig is a very inspiring actor and I had some contact and the thing is that I’m busy right now doing Dune. But, I will say to have the privilege to work with him it would be a dream. I would love to work with Daniel and a Bond movie for me would be a treat. Crank up the speakers and blast Madonna's Die Another Day because Episode #8 of The Words Are Not Enough is here!In this episode Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following:Tomorrow Never Lies* Ben Cooke returning for Bond 25 * In an apparent exclusive from Archive007, Daniel Craig's stunt double, Ben Cooke, has reportedly stepped into the role of Stunt Coordinator for Bond 25, replacing longtime Coordinator, Gary Powell.* Daniel Craig banned from getting romantic with Moneypenny * It seems the writing process for Bond 25 is in full swing. According to the Express, an anonymous LA source has claimed the following regarding the ongoing scripting process: “The production company have reached out to several writers to suggest plot ideas and twists for Bond in Daniel’s final outing. They wanted ideas that had not been seen in their franchise before to try to shake things up. One idea was for Bond finally to move beyond flirting and one liners and actually share a romance with Moneypenny. But that idea was nixed as it would go against the whole relationship built up during their screen careers.” * This seems in line with comments Naomi Harris has recently made regarding her off-screen relationship with Daniel Craig and how their chemistry plays on screen: "Chemistry is something you either have or don’t have, so its a real gamble when people cast you, because you just never know whether the chemistry’s going to work. Sometimes you have couples who are dating in real life and they have no chemistry on screen whatsoever so you just never know. I am just lucky that it works with Daniel and I’m looking forward to coming back.” * While she doesn't outright state it, her comments seem to suggest a continuation of the platonic-but-flirtatious dynamic we have seen thus far in the series.* Fincher Interview: Maybe tackle a Bond film? * In a recent interview with Empire, David Fincher revealed that he would not want to do a Star Wars film due to the immense pressure; adding that he had discussed helming the upcoming Episode 9 with Kathleen Kennedy, but ultimately declined. * While this doesn't directly pertain to Bond, David Fincher is a name that has come up frequently surrounding the Bond franchise, but is an idea that has often been dismissed owing to Fincher's seeming aversion to franchise films. But with this news that he considered Star Wars, does this mean he may consider Bond at some point down the track?Q-Branch* The Man With The Golden Gun Manuscript Emerges * A one-of-a-kind author's proof of 'The Man With The Golden Gun' has emerged that contains Ian Fleming's revisions to his original manuscript for his final James Bond novel.
