As part of the ongoing works to revitalise the Kal City Centre, the City is undertaking a series of upgrades to footpaths on Hannan Street. In June 2021, Telstra contractors replaced the telecommunication pits along both sides of Hannan Street, between Wilson and Maritana Streets. From September to mid-November 2021, the City's contractors will be working along both sides of Hannan Street (from Maritana to Wilson) to remove existing footpaths and replace with exposed aggregate concrete paths. There will be some unavoidable pedestrian and vehicular disruption during this period, however the City is working to ensure disruption to businesses will be minimal.
