I began todays emergency podcast the with new rule changes in the world of the NCAA. The first rule is on one of our favorite topics the Transfer Portal. The NCAA has been meeting with coaches to streamline the portal and they finally have. At least they think they have.
The next rule change was done out of laziness and NO forethought. They were tire of dealing with topic of athletes no being to bet on games. I tell you which games and how this a bad move those in power in college sports.
The Top story cover the firing of former Penn State Coach James Franklin. I give you background on his time there and his success. The failures he could not over come. Who raise the expectation on Coach Franklin and why did those expectation wind up crushing the season and costing him his job. In closing I tell you what his buyout is why Penn State would willing to pay such a large amount CASH. I do start the conversation of what's next for Coach Franklin and family.

I start the broadcast I do some quick hits on what's going on with College Football. Nothing earth shaking going just a few minor stories.
I start my interview today's Guest Mark Dusbabek, with trying figure out how long since we seen each other. At one point I got Mark disclose his present location and why he is there. to Mark was a Gopher Football player and a NFL player. We chatted about today's sport environment and he was able to share some insights from someone close to him who works in the CFB world. After his career ended, Mark searched to find something to with the rest his life. He got into the money mgt business and also continued to explore another passion, of his golf. He started at the grass roots level and work his way to the position he holds today. I asked him about the PGA/LIV Split and he was able to share some thoughts. He is is an innovator in the Pro golf tour. Not, as a player , but as an official and he explains how.

Another one has bitten the dust. Another H/C has been fired by a big time college. There is a very interesting twist to this story. The interim Coach story is a college legend for all the wrong reasons.
One of the P-2 Conferences is looking into Private Equity for more money. They believe there a reason for more of money grab. I explain the reasons good and bad for doing this.
The last part of the Podcast was dedicated to going into the the Dueling bills in the House and the Senate. The S.C.OR.E. Act, Safe Act and the TV Act. Why do we need that these laws or do we. Who is effected by these proposed laws. I explain it all the conflicts and differences.

Today Pod start with me talking about a change in the one of our favorite topics, the Transfer Portal. What is going on with S.C.O.R.E. Act? Well, I let you know. Virginia Tech is proposing a large sum of CASH to make changes and I give you intel on the subject. We had a late retirement in college basketball and who gets to benefits from this coach's decisions. The main topic of the todays show is the college football hot seat, who, why an where. There is a lot meat on this bone.

I started the podcast with an update on the story of College basketball who continue to run a foul of the gambling rules. They are not betting, they are taking money from under world gamblers who offer these young money to fix their stats. So, the gamblers can take the inside info and bet on prop bets. Young men who are short sided and grab for the quick cash.
Next, the main story was supposed to be how the other conference may look at following the ACC in how they split up the conference media dollars. What is the good, the bad and very ugly of doing this and what is has lead to in the past.
The story became some what of an emergency pod. The firing of 2 head coaches after 2 games. I discuss why this happened now. Also, when it should/could have happened. Why more coaches are on the hot seat this early in the season, after a very quiet off season after last season. What are schools thinking? Who is pulling the trigger on these decisions and are there anymore coming in season and post season.

Today's episode I tried to get some insight from a college football coach on the life of a coach and his thoughts on today environment.
First, I do start the show off two stories, the first one involves a gambling scandal and what would cause a young person with everything to play for to throw it all away.
The second story is about CFB oversight committee is looking into and moving along changes on the transfer portal.
I bring on my guest Coach David Lockwood who takes us the journey from where he grew up to his college playing days at WVU. We talked the road he took to become a college coach and twist and turns of being college coach.
We discuss today's college football landscape what his are. What he is hearing from other coaches and he would change. We finished our chat with him sharing some Super Bowl History that was made in the last Super Bowl.

I began the episode with talking about the topic of David Potnouy is not being allowed inside B1G stadiums, even though he is working for B1G NOON kick off. I ha e my thoughts on the matter.
My guest is 5 times All American former Gopher Track star Goaner Deng. He has quite the story to tell about his life from South Sudan to the U.S., to MN to the U. of MN track team and major success on and off the track. We discuss his first days in the U.S. and his first days in Minnesota. How coped with the change in life style. We chatted about falling in love with the sport of Track and how he landed on the Gopher Track team. Once on the team how it added structure to his life and the people who played a part n his success at the U. of MN. We talked about about today's college sports landscape and would want to be a part of it. We finished with what's new in his life and what the future hold for him.
I finished the program with gloating over the fact that a certain football conference change their minds and why they did so.

I thought it would be a good idea to catch with an old friend and Co-Worker, who is still Coaching in College athletics today. I wanting to get the view of a Coach of a non-revenue sport or boots on the the ground as may say. I want to hear first hand if all hell is breaking loose or the changes or just an adjustment for those who work in the today's environment of college sports. I stated today by catching up with Coach Thorton and also, an explanation of his day to day duties as an assistant track at Kansas University.
We moved on from there to discuss how the hot button topics of the day have changed him as coach having to deal with the Transfer portal, NIL and now revenue sharing. How recruiting change in these days of the Migration General of College sports.
Conversation moved to a short discussion on the U.S.O.C. (U.S. Olympic Committee) what, or if any changes will be coming for our Olympic teams.
I asked the question about the hot button topic of travel and if it's being blown out proportion. All I can say is, you may have heard his response come out someone else's mouth in the past.
We chatted about some former Gopher Athletes and their new and success and also, about two former Gopher Coaches who touched our lives.
We chatted about he is hearing directly from the athletes he deals with about college sports today. I mentioned what I'm hearing from past Gopher athletes. Their response may surprise you.
Lastly, I asked him to play college sport God for one day and you can hear his answer to what he called a loaded question. LOL

The title of this episode is the Migration Generation and I'm not talking about the life the Monarch Butterfly. I'm discussing the issues that have spung out the transfer portal. The bad choices, the school hoping and the lack of support for these young people at many level. There have been studies just in this short period of time since 2018 when the Transfer Portal was introduce the athletes. I explain the math of it all and the failure that could long range effects on a group of athletes because of moving from to place. I inform you about what age does this happen to these athletes.

I start today's episode with the announcement about Coach Prime, Deon Sanders. Then I discussed a back to the future buzz and I'm not talking about the movie.
I read a list schools who opted in and out of the House settlement and why they did so.
An executive order came from white house to save college sports. LOL! The order itself does nothing to aid colleges in their fight to run an effective department. A lot of time wasted on this and I share why that is.

I began today's podcast with a the new name of a Conference. Why the roll out of the new mascot (SOAR THE EAGLE) name for the conference actually meant something different on that day. A member in their conference them all a little sore.
The U.S.O.C. wanted to be heard on capitol Hill to plead it's case to make sure that their interest are protect in the new S.C.O.R.E. ACT if passed by congress.
The NCAA finally wins a court case and I tell you why they did so.
My take on story involving the U of MN and why I was not happy to see it come about.
I finish today's show with few comment on the death of a friend and what you need to do , if you find yourself in that situation. For you own mental stability.

I began the show with more Portal, but this is a special one time Portal for DSA's (Designated Student Athletes) These are people who were cut or let go for roster limits. The schools jumped the gun and let them go before the Grant House case was settled by Judge Wilkins.
Next, I touch on what CSC (College Sports Commission) is up to. The have been very busy in their short time in action. Bryan Seeley and his group are laying down the law for the Member Institutions of the NCAA.
Congress may give the normal college student some relief by not allowing school to do something very sneaky.
Speaking of Congress the are attempting to rush legislation through to aid the school with protections from boosters, athletes and parents. The S.C.O.R.E. Act. (Student Compensation and Opportunity through Rights and Endorsement's). I break down the 411 on what this all could mean for College athletics.

This weeks episode was born out of a question that I receive from an old friend. Will the employed NIL Players still get a scholarship, medical r have to pay their way and pay taxes? Which made me think and feel that I'm a horrible instructor. If I'm not getting my listeners to understand the very basics of NIL and Rev-sharing. They are two different pools of money and are earned completely differently by the athletes. I go on to explain the difference between the two and they get. I also, try to dispel a lot of mis information try to get you to understand the plain hard facts and other peoples biases, opinions and how they want thing to be. I take it down to the nitty gritty of the ABC's of how to the athletes are make money and how this classify them.

As we all try to get head around the fallout of the Grant House case settlement. One can't help but wonder "What's Next"?
I touch on the first of its kind lawsuit as the U. of Wisconsin has filed a litigation vs U. of Miami Florida over poaching Xavier Lucas a football player who had contract with the Badgers. Will this slow down the active tampering of players on another's team roster? This case will go a long way telling us what will happen next on that topic.
Secondly, I discussed what is clearly next after the post House case settlement. The women are coming and they want their cut of the settlement back payment. Listen to find out why they suing and the deeper fallout if they lose this case.
Next, another new classification in college athletics. Designated-Student -Athlete.(DSA) I tell who they are and what is next for them in the next 20 days. Find out what schools did to them and what the school could do to them even more.
Lastly, the B1G & Sec continue to try agree on how to set new course the CFP in 2026 and beyond. The conference have to shape the CFP and everyone thought they were in lock step with each other. We found they are not and why they are not. To the point they wiped the slate clean started over from zero on discussions on the future of the CFP. I explain why they are back to ground zero with planning.

In my best DeWayne "THE ROC" Johnson voice.
"FINALLY" The Grant House case been ratified by Judge Claudia Wilkins and she can retires from the bench. I inform who the heck Grant House is and is not. After a June 6th News dump. College athletic administrators are in lock step on how to run college sports? Well, that's what the "House Case Settlement is supposed to bring. Everyone singing, dancing, slapping each other on the back, kissing babies and taking a lap with their victory cigars?
Before I get heavy into the fallout of the settlement, I discuss an oldie but, a goodie. The Connor Stallion case is back! The NCAA Committee on infractions meet with the parties involved in this one including Connor Stallion. Of course not Jim Harbaugh he is never planning on coaching in the college ranks again. Michigan has tried to self impose a penalty in this case, but the Committee wanted to (remember this Committee in the future) hear the evidence from those involved before giving a final ruling in August. Michigan threw out a penalty of H/C Sherrone Moore would sit out weeks 3 & 4 under Michigan's Plan. The enforcement committee( remember this Committee in the future also) on infractions will probably have more to say on the matter.
Back to the main story, Most of the fallout has been discussed on my show and others at nauseum. Playing athletes, back playing older athletes, how the will be divided amongst present and future athletes. Roster limits and people to run college sports. Such as Bryan Seeley, I give you more on his background in the pod. How they handle new/real NIL to athletes? How schools don't opt into 'REV Share will live and those who do and dot abide/sign by the new agreements amongst themselves are dealt with or decide to cheat will be dealt with.
The loud remaining questions clear, who's happy and not? What will happen to non-revenue teams in the future? Is there FINALLY peace on college campuses or these clowns/College Leaders I mean fooling themselves. Is that light at the end of this Grant House Case settlement, jus an oncoming train that may "FINALLY" kill of teams or drastically change it for the worse. Unless I'm just a bill that is sitting on capitol hill is "FINALLY" turn into a LAW-anti-trust law, saving their fat salaries?

I started this episode with more warnings and info on the Transfer portal. How many people are are hurting their college football experience. How the football players actually delaying the pay off by transferring and the latest of the trap being laid by schools.
Things heated up off the field last week and this week as conference leaders, coaches, A.D.'S and president are all giving their opinions on what the landscape of college football and other sports should look like. From the last ditch efforts to the myopic tones of the Power 2. Almost everyone had something to say except one conference. Listen to me discuss all the discourse from people who supposed to be the brightest minds in the country, act like numbskulls as the only try to look out for #1.

The show by answering questions from a regular listener (okay my sister Charlotte) who wanted to know if "EDUCATION" still has a place in todays world of college sports. A very good question, with many tentacles.
In the 2nd half of the show I had conversation with a good friend from my college days. Pete Najarian Reached out to me 2 weeks ago to inform me that he has had two interviews for the "NEW" position in college sports, the General Manager. We finally connected and we had great conversation on the topic. The insights that Pete gave us will answer most question on the position, but may leave you with more.

Arsenio Hall used to have a segment on his show, things that make you go hmm! This episode of my podcast is filled news that make you go HMM & SIGH!.
The State of Tennessee is at it again, didn't the Nico saga teach them anything? listen and find out.
Old Bill Bellechoak/Blellecheck is still making news the wrong way. A key piece of evidence was laid out before our eyes in the Tom Brady roast and we all missed it. Plus, Bill got UNC to do something that no other football coach could do before.
A deal has made for the 2025 CFP and I explain all the fallout and power grabbing going on in it's wake. The are a lot tentacles on this monster.
Judge Wilkins remain silent and there was no new news of her ratifying the House case. All the big new reports were expecting a Friday news dump from her office. They got silence.
More change in the ways college sports are govern, this does not effect FB or BB.
Lastly, find out why the busy body at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue back off his power move on college sports.
If you can give to relief efforts for the people of St. Louis, please do. An F-3 Tornado hit a week ago. I give an update on that story.

The sitting President of the United States decided to poke his nose in the business of college athletics. He threatened to take action and then named committee. Listen to hear what all the fuss was about and where could it take us.
The House continue to take up time and space in our hearts, minds and worlds. Judge Wilkens has bent over backwards to give proper guidance on roster limits to the member institutions(the schools) that make up the NCAA. She have given more than hints. Judge Wilkins has given a road map to the schools and their leadership on how to get her to approve the House case settlement. On the other hand the schools and their leadership have to decided to play a game of chicken with Judge Wilkins and basically stated, no thanks, we will continue to do things as we see fit when comes to roster limits. If they don't do what she wants, things could get very messy for the school and very costly. The next week or so could be interesting for the smaller schools who don't want to pay their athletes , but would "NOT" be able stay alive if they lose in court. Remember these are the school that always voted to keep the amateurism model, not the Power 4 schools. If Judge Wilkins re-opens the House case, it's going to be a blood bath. So, why are these School leaders want to play a game of chicken with Judge Wilkens.

The Power 4 commissioners met late week to discuss the future the format of the College football playoffs. In 2026 a new contact for the playoffs will change and more money can be earned. The B1G and SEC will have control of playoffs.
How many teams, how they will selected and how teams are seed will under the control of the new format. The playoff committee role will change and lose some control of the format and team selection under a plan purposed by the B1G/SEC.
If the purposed 16 team playoff is put in place, it will lead to a ton changes in the regular season and the post season. How they money will flow to conferences. There would be a new wrinkle in conference championship week-end. I tell you all the little details known and under the hat of the B1G and the SEC that will lead to more money in their pockets. How for reaching are these plans? You will learn in this episode of the podcast.
