Juhi Patel and Stephanie Nemeth are two of the captains planning the Rutgers 2021 Mark Conference. The Mark Conference is the largest student-run conference, coming on its ninth year, encouraging students to become innovators and agents of change in order to leave their own mark on the world. The mark. podcast allows past conference guests, Ignite student speakers, SWAT members, and captains to share a little about what makes mark so influential.

These past two weeks have been a wild time, but The mark. Podcast is back with a brand new episode! Come join us this week with a special episode featuring guests Jordan Shyi and Alyea Pierce. Our current and previous professional staff members share their stories about the Office of Leadership and some of the favorite moments from past Leadership Weeks and MARK Conferences. Tim Chung (RU'21) and Paolo Arante (RU'22) share their experiences as part of the MARK SWAT. They both share their unique experiences working on different subcommittees and how they developed unique skills throughout the year by applying, collaborating with their team, and working on their own projects. Cassie Cuddihy (RU'23) and Hailey Jones (RU'23) speak on their experience as MARK SWAT Team members from applying to join the team all the way to the day of the conference itself. They both share their memories and involvement on their respective subcommittees to allow you to take a sneak peek into what being apart of the team is like. Join us as we have the co-founders, co-facilitators, and co-presidents of the Scarlet Table Talk, Roja Vanaparthi (RU'22) and Nikita Paranjape (RU'22) come on the podcast to let us know more about their organization. Spearheaded by these two juniors, it originally began as a social change project through the First Year Fellowship course offered by the Leadership Office, but was expanded and built upon by Rutgers Career and Explorations office to the program it is today. Roja and Nikita share about their journey and the message they hope to share with individuals who join their table talks that occur two to three times a semester. Meet Kat Adams (RU'21), a senior at Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences who started the Baby-Friendly Space Club located on Cook Campus inside the INFH Building. She is the first student we are featuring on this podcast who is igniting change around campus through the creation of her organization. The Baby-Friendly Space offers a haven for students, faculty, and staff with babies to have a place for their families on campus for resources such as breastfeeding, pumping milk, and so much more. Kat shares with us the research she did that inspired the creation of this resource both in her microbiology lab as well as searching for similar resources for mothers at Rutgers around campus. Alyssen Rivers (RU'20) was the Ignite Captain for the 2020 Mark Conference, she joins us on this episode with one of the 2020 Ignite Speakers, Jorge Alvarez (RU'21). They sit down to reflect on their experience throughout the Ignite process, an unique aspect of the MARK conference that brings student speakers onto the main stage to share their stories. Listen to how Alyssen worked with the Ignite speakers to help them protray their stories to the MARK audience as well as how Jorge was able to create, develop, and share his story to the audience.
2020 Mark Conference Captains Shreeya Sawat (RU'20) and AJ Grosso (RU'21) share their experiences from this year's conference. As an energizer captain and co-transformation of space captain, respectively, the two share their experiences attending previous Mark conferences which inspired them to join the 2020 captain team. They share what the conference has done for them and what they learned from helping plan their team's conference this past March, as well as encourage everyone to MARK the date for next year's conference-March 6th, 2021.
Adam Fogarty (RU'22) is one of the two 2021 Mark Conference's Energizer captain. In this quick minute, he shares why he chose to join the captain team based on his experiences as a SWAT member for the last two years and what he is looking forward to this upcoming 2021 Conference.
Johan Reyes (RU'20) was one of the 2020 Mark Conference Ignite Speakers who took to the main stage to share his story. He talks about how through the process of creating his ignite speak he was able to grow as a writer, a speaker, and as a son. He shares how Ignite allowed him to find the words to his story through the process of sharing his emotions and thoughts before refining them into the five-minute speech he gave on the mainstage last March and encourages that anyone willing to try should definitely apply to be an Ignite speaker themself. 
Kate McConnell (RU'22) is the 2021 Mark Conference's HR and Sponsorships captain. In this quick minute, she shares why she chose to join the captain team, what she hopes to accomplish, and the mark she hopes she can leave on the conference.
2021 Mark Energizer Captain Tiffany (RU'21) and 2020 Mark Conference Experience Captain Khadijah (RU'22) discuss what is Mark is to them. They share stories from their own experiences as both SWAT members and captains to highlight the journey they have taken with Mark through different viewpoints. They share what the conference has done for them and why they continue to come back to it year after year as well as share their hopes for what they imagine the future of the conference to be in years to come.
2021 Mark Conference Captains Juhi Patel (RU'22) and Stephanie Nemeth (RU'22) present to you the "mark. Podcast." They hope to share the influence of the conference as well as the mark it has left on them through the stories of conference guests, Ignite speakers, as well as past and present SWAT members and captains. Through the different guests that will join them every week, they hope everyone will see the magic mark of the conference and join them for the ninth annual conference this upcoming March.
Juhi Patel (Conference Intern and co-Conference Experience Captain) and Stephanie Nemeth (Ignite Captain) are two of the nine students, or captains, that will be working with their graduate intern, Nicole, to plan the 2021 Mark Conference on March 6th, 2021. Join in to hear stories from individuals who have been involved in the conferences' past, present, and future as we come closer to the 9th annual Mark Conference. Juhi and Stephanie are excited to unveil this project to represent what they believe leaving a mark on their community entails and can't wait for their audience to learn more about Mark.
