I believe that all emotions and behavior make sense in light of a person's past experiences, such as upbringing, family, culture, beliefs, and values. I believe we all do the best we can with what we know and that everyone, given validation and compassion, has within them the answers they seek. People are extremely resilient, but often don't recognize this fact until they survive emotionally painful experiences. I seek to understand and accept people and enjoy helping them do the same for themselves.

I'm a licensed professional therapist trained in mental health and substance abuse. I work with all sorts of mental health clients, including trauma work. I am also trained in EMDR, which is a modality of therapy to help the brain move past symptoms of trauma. I love my work and am excited to share what I know with you. I'm imperfect and will always have more to learn, so I'm also excited to hear your thoughts and feedback.

Recordings labeled as "Mindfulness Meditation" are guided practices to be used over and over to help you practice the skill of mindfulness.

This channel will offer you education about mental health, coping skills (DBT, CBT), emotions, communication, motivation, and how to find more peace and happiness in your life.

This channel was created to offer an additional resource to the clients I work with, but it is also available to anyone who finds it helpful.

This is a basic introduction to guided mindfulness. It involves observing and describing your experience of your 5 senses in this moment. Before starting this exercise, find a place you can practice without interruption, where you feel safe. If at any time during the meditation, you feel triggered by what you're observing in the moment, either stop the practice early, or focus on a different one of your 5 senses.
Let's discuss DBT's concept of wisemind as a first step to understanding emotions better.
