Ability Innovations Mountainside Counseling Services Follow Us On Social Media ----more---- Hey Everyone, Welcome back to another episode of Therapy Unmasked. This week we had the opportunity to sit down with Kirsten Jacobsen and discuss all things mental health. Kiersten is the owner and clinical director at Mountainside Counseling Services in Layton, Utah. They specialize in mental health counseling for adults as well as kids. They offer a variety of treatment options including EMDR, which we discuss throughly in this episode. The reason we wanted to talk to Kirsten is because Ability Innovations will always be an advocate for mental health services. Even though our practice primarily focuses on pediatric habilitation therapies like occupational, physical, and speech, we can find common ground with mental health practices that prioritize treating trauma in helpful and humane ways. We firmly believe that as we help children both mentally and physically the rate of success in achieving milestones improves significantly. If you've ever asked yourself: What is EMDR treatment? Does my child need a mental health counselor? Does mental health correlate with feeding and behavioral issues? How do I know if therapy is right for my child? Then we have the podcast for you! If you like what we are doing here at Ability Innovations please like, comment, share, and review our show! We love each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts. Wendy took her knowledge from teaching in special education classrooms and combined it with her desire to do more. This is where she found interest in learning more about emotional regulation, she also has a child that needs support with this and some sensory needs as well.
