Description

Things I Wish I Knew is an all encompassing reflective discussion of the things we all “Wish We Knew”. The ideology is as a young adult “I wish I’d known (blank). On this podcast, we’ll be addressing and often times venting about the things we can all relate to “wishing we’d known”. The goal is to create a safe space and a domain for discussing the very experiences that keep us interconnected but more importantly remind us we’re human. So, I hope you’re in the mood for laughter and occasionally tears -as me and a number of featured guests discuss the “Things We Wish We Knew” Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ariel-wilson6/support

I just wanted to do a super quick epi to update you all on my life and just let you all know that the podcast is very much still A THING. I’ve been recording a little less and enjoying life/focusing on school and myself a little more since the last episode but I wanted to do a brief epi for the girls because I love you all bunches. For the month of March we're going to do the "March Madness" series so feel free to send your forgiveness notes over the next couple of days and remember no one deserves your grace more than you do. Love on you today and always! Thanks again for all of the support X0X0X0 -Ariel Wilson  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ariel-wilson6/support
I struggled to find a way to present my story both into and through medical school to in many ways make it more palatable for/to my listeners, but in so many ways that adds to what is already the damaging culture of medicine and medical school. The saying is to be the change you want to see. However, you can't really do that if you're not honest with what needs to be changed. So, that's just what I did. I unpacked my experience in the most raw and candid way. The only way I know how.  This is what I've been through, but it's by no means who I am. The keyword is I.  If this registers with you- just know you aren't alone. If it doesn't, you're one of the lucky ones. Bask in that.  Remember, love on you today and everyday because no one can be more honest with you than you.  Therefore, no one can be more gentle with you than you. We don't stop in hell. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ariel-wilson6/support
Hinge Cringe

The best way to describe this epi wold be "an entertaining polaroid photo dump in audio form" between -featured guest-Alexis Nicole Neely(my loving sorority sister) and I. I hope you all get something out of our cringeworthy hinge stories and perhaps feel a sense of A) relatability/bonding in failed attempts at romantic encounters and B) (more importantly) observational learning from the "ThiNGs We WisH We KnEw"  This one is for the CANDID girls. It's as raw as expected but with an even more behind the scenes feel of who I am away from the mic. Contrary to popular beliefs, there's a great deal of vulnerability required to release content to the world. I'm so excited that I get to share it with you all at the end of the production process and I truly appreciate the positive feedback.   Sidenote: there are several references made throughout the podcast. If you're curious or confused about anything, send me a message on Instagram or @ TIWIK_Podcast on IG/ anchor and I'll explain further/link resources to provide a better understanding. Lastly, check out Neely's website @https://www.alexisnicoleneely.com to see her WIDE range of skills and services.  As always, thanks for listening and remember "All Cringes Matter" --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ariel-wilson6/support
I'm not sure if anyone else is in a weird space regarding "romantic" relationships, but I can openly admit that I am and I thought it would be wonderful to hear my parents' story about finding love at the right time, between the right people, and it be true and not simply for the aesthetics of social media.   My mom and stepdad both dropped some gems for the girls in this episode.  My mom also casually roasted me like she sometimes does for her own entertainment. (If you can catch the shade, I'm sure you'll chuckle).   But seriously, I hope all of my single folk and taken peeps take a little something or a lot of somethings from this episode.  We made it with lots of love just for y'all! - remember "there's no timeline on happiness"  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ariel-wilson6/support
This episode talks about the concept of accolades- pronounced "al-co-lades" due to my southern accent and possibly my lack of formal education. (You all can decide on that). The reoccurring question throughout this episode is " Are you more than your degrees, accomplishments, etc? "  For many people, that answer is no.  However, is it a no for you? Tune in and share your thoughts via Anchor or my instagram page:@ Al_cap_on  The individuals featured on this episode are Taylor S. Harris: IG @ Taylorsinclar.artistry and Chelsea Harris: IG @sos.saveourselves or www.thestandardofstyle.com FYI: The Real Housewives of Potomac is a Bravo production and can be streamed on Hulu (and many other sites I'm sure), but the particular segment can be streamed on the one and only YouTube. If you watch the scene, the discussion makes a lot more sense conceptually. Additionally, the two particular characters being discussed are Ms. Karen Huger and "Dr." Wendy Osefo.  Pay special attention to Karen's impersonation of Wendy. It doesn't serve any particular purpose, I just find it INCREDIBLY funny.  Lastly, I love you guys.
