Luke Saint and Chris Poschwatta discuss and informally debate Lancastrian theonomy (aka non-legislative theonomy). Hosted by Chris Hume.
Randall Zimmerman, lifetime dairy farmer, joins Luke on the show to talk about the experiences in his line of work, highlighting the difficulties in operating his farm under local, state, and federal red tape.
Luke continues his response to author Dr. Stephen Wolfe's questions and objections to non-legislative theonomy. In part 2, Dr. Wolfe indicates his surprising unawareness of historical biblical jurisprudence, and wonders what the world would look like without politicians and the nanny state.
Luke Saint reacts to a video wherein Dr. Stephen Wolfe, author of The Case For Christian Nationalism, details non-legislative theonomy (but does not get to finish...we will distribute part two soon). In this first part of his analysis, Luke contrasts Lancastrian Theonomy with Dr. Wolfe's Christian nationalism/natural law legislation and clears up some misunderstandings.
In part 2 of the examination on Stephen Wolfe's book, "The Case For Christian Nationalism," Luke discusses Wolfe's political theory and how it interacts with the American founders' political theory, juxtaposing both with biblical law.
Christian Nationalism seems to be headed towards a paradox: while its leaders, like Stephen Wolfe, Andrew Torba, and Eric Conn claim the reformed tradition (or the church fathers) as their foundation, the movement is arguing for the complete opposite of what the Reformers were fighting against. Namely, they are positing a Presbyterian version of the Pope, aka, "the Christian Prince."
The U.S. Constitution has held a lofty place in the American mind for generations. Today, some are wondering if it is a "dead" document. Luke Saint, however, has been arguing something different: the Constitution establishes injustice. Luke recently debated Justin Magill on that very topic. In this episode, Luke is joined by Chris Hume, Travis Schmalhofer, Joel Saint, and Matt Kenitzer to discuss the debate and dig deeper into the foundational questions that debate addressed. This episode of the Think & Reform Podcast is brought to you by Future of Christendom.
