The upcoming election in the United States is the most important of our lifetimes. I thought it would be interesting to have a conversation on this topic, but through a slightly different lens than you might be used to in these polarizing times, and I hope this conversation is thoughtful in that respect.
My guest today is back for her third time on the show. She’s dedicated the last 20 years of her career studying, building and reinventing brands. Her work as an executive brand strategist gives her a unique perspective on the language used to describe an experience and the behavior that follows. And It’s inspired her latest project, Rebranding America: A new show premiering this week on YouTube—that explores question, “Who would America be if it actually became who it said it was?”
Please enjoy my conversation with Krysta Masciale.

My guest today is a New Jersey born and Denmark raised writer and inventor. After a successful career in engineering (where he was a contributor to many successful patents, including a medical device along side his father), he found himself looking for new ways to give back.
He believes the dysfunctional economy is the most important issue of our time.
He’s taken his passion to use ideas to solve the world’s problems, and applied this thinking to America’s economy in the book, Optimizing America.
Through vivid scenery, memorable characters, and intense drama, he encourages the reader to ponder hardline questions that challenge modern political punditry, shatter the “news-in-a-loop” cycle, and change the way we think about the distribution of wealth.
Our conversation is incredibly timely, relevant, and important.
And I hope that the insight we share today causes you to think about ways in which you can help facilitate conversation and drive change in this area…
It’s time to think outside the lines with Jarl Jensen.
Guest Bio:
Jarl Jensen is a New Jersey born and Denmark raised writer and inventor. He returned to the US for school, but still considers Denmark his home traveling back and forth regularly. He learned a lot from his father, an engineer and inventor who held many patents. When he was only sixteen, Jarl was a contributor to a successful patent along with his father, a medical device, that led to the launch of a wound care company called Euromed. After college, Jarl started working at Euromed mixing adhesive which led to many more patent filings.
His father eventually became the owner of Euromed and after he got sick and passed away,Jarl helped revive it. They went from zero to making a profit in about six months. Jarl began in Research and Development and redesigned the product lines, lowering the costs by 50-60%, making it one of the most advanced products in the industry at the time. These innovations led to new product launches and more patents, the business grew from six to eight figures in just a few years. In 2004, Jarl took over the company as CEO growing Euromed to $20 million in revenue before selling it for 17x earnings to a publicly traded company in 2016.
After his successful exit, Jarl is looking to give back and is addressing the most important issue of our time, the dysfunctional economy. As an idea man, Jarl sees things differently and focuses more on out of the box solutions. His real passion is to use ideas to solve the world’s problems. Jarl has applied this thinking to America’s economy in the book, Optimizing America. Through vivid scenery, memorable characters, and intense drama, he encourages the reader to ponder hardline questions that challenge modern political punditry, shatter the “news-in-a-loop” cycle, and change the way we think about the distribution of wealth.

My guest today is a former Wall Street managing director, community activist, speaker, coach, and author of the book The Three Rooms.
These experiences have given him a unique and eclectic mix of understanding human nature. He noticed that our happiness and unhappiness in life is always the result of our thoughts – whether observations of the present, memories from the past, or projected fears about the future. Combining this theory with the deep personal insights he attained along his own 20+ year spiritual journey, he stepped away from the corporate world to write The Three Rooms, in which he explains how observing which room your thoughts are in, can change your experience of life.
The book invites you to start the process of better monitoring your thoughts—while providing you the keys to transform your life by doing so.
I think there’s a ton of insight in this conversation, and I’m excited to share it with you.
It’s time to think outside the lines with Kevin Murphy.
Guest Bio:
KEVIN MURPHY is a former Wall Street managing director, high school and collegiate wrestling champion, community activist, speaker, coach, and author of the book The Three Rooms.
During his highly successful 33-year career at Citigroup, Kevin was responsible for the sales, marketing and trading of several different businesses within the firm. He served on the Board of Directors of multiple option exchanges and spoke at conferences all over the world. He is a former chairman of the SIFMA Option Committee and has lectured both U.S. Regulatory and Congressional staff on the education of the options and securities markets. Kevin currently serves on the Board of Directors for Cboe Global Market’s six U.S. securities exchanges.
Following his college wrestling career, he has served as a youth wrestling coach on Long Island for over 30 years. His lifetime service to the sport of wrestling led to his induction into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2009. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the non-profit Friends of Long Island Wrestling, and has spear-headed a campaign to raise awareness of the opioid and drug epidemic that is sweeping the country.
These experiences have given Kevin a unique and eclectic mix of understanding human nature. He noticed that our happiness and unhappiness in life is always the result of our thoughts – whether observations of the present, memories from the past, or projected fears about the future. Combining this theory with the deep personal insights he attained along his own 20+ year spiritual journey, Kevin wrote the book The Three Rooms, in which he explains how observing which room your thoughts are in, can change your experience of life.
