Walking In God’s Light

This Sunday we're continuing our new series on the book of 1 John. I'm really excited that we're welcoming as our preacher one my dearest friends, Rev. Kevin Germer. Kevin is the pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church here in Richmond, a fellow ECO congregation.

The Word of Life

This Sunday we’ll start to answer that question a bit as we kick off a new sermon series on the book of 1 John. The apostle John was so changed by the risen Jesus that he called his fellow Christians to live as people of love and light in a world of acrimony and darkness. Through Jesus, we come to know “The God of Love and Light” and learn to live as people who reflect his love and light in the world.

Nothing Can Separate

God Makes Everything Good

Our text this week includes Romans 8:28, perhaps one of the most well-known and well-loved verses in Scripture. What does it mean for God to be working all things together for good in a world like ours? We'll look at what this means for our lives and our groaning world.

03-18
30:11

Groaning and Glory

This week we are continuing our study of Romans 8 and diving into Paul's theology of suffering and glory. This passage is one of my favorites in the whole Bible, and it gives us a vision of hope that is bigger than anything we can imagine.

03-11
32:52

Life as God’s Children

This Sunday we'll continue our exploration of Romans 8. Building on the theme of identity that we addressed this week, we'll learn what it means to live as the beloved adopted child of God.

03-05
30:43

Life in the Spirit

This week we'll continue with the next section of Romans 8 and explore the new kind of life we are called to live because of this truth.

02-27

No Condemnation

This Sunday we’re kicking off a new sermon series for Lent called "Nothing Separates," based on Romans chapter 8.

Walking Worthily of Our Calling

Second, and just as importantly, on this "Vision Sunday" Corey shares the vision for our congregation that we believe God has given us for the next chapter of our church's life, looking beyond the fall to what is next for us. From the start of the Renew Campaign, we've said that we are seeking to “renew our home to renew our mission.” So let's talk about our mission, and what the Lord is calling us to next on this collective journey.

The Whole World

This coming Sunday is a very special day as well as we will be welcoming Pastor Samuel Adel, pastor of El Sharabia Presbyterian Church in Cairo, Egypt. We are blessed to be in a "sister congregation" relationship with El Sharabia, along with the Christian Arabic Church. Last spring, a group of us from Third and CAC were able to travel to Cairo to spend a week with Pastor Samuel and his congregation. It was a delightful visit and we are so thankful to be able to welcome Pastor Samuel, his wife Phoebe, and several other Egyptian friends to Third this weekend.

The Power of Influence

This Sunday is Youth Sunday! This is always a beloved Sunday in our community as we witness our students leading us. They have much to teach us! Our young preachers will be sharing a word on Matthew 5:13-16.

Grace Changes the World

This Sunday, we’ll finish our three week miniseries on Philemon, exploring the ways grace brings transformation to the world itself.

Grace Changes Relationships

This Sunday we'll continue our study of Paul's letter to Philemon. The grace of God that transforms each of us personally issues forth in transformed relationships within the community of the church. The new life that God brings to each of us means new life for our relationships with each other!

Grace Changes Us

This Sunday we're kicking off a little 3-week sermon series on Paul's letter to Philemon. This often overlooked book is power-packed with the disruptive message of God's grace in Christ. As we begin new calendar year and think about our longing for change in our personal and collective lives, this book reminds us of the source of all true change.

The Light in the Darkness

This Sunday we celebrate the coming of Jesus—the Son of the Most High, fully man and fully God, come to us in Bethlehem.

01-02

Joy in the Waiting

As we approach the third Sunday of Advent, take some time with the Lord to get still and to invite him to do this birthing of Christ in you yet again.
