Description
I have thoughts. I have so many thoughts, and they're all jumbled up within the web of neurons in my mind. Wrestling, begging... fighting each other for release. Accompanied by pent up emotions and a cup of what might be an excessive amount of caffeine deadly for one girl, this is a collection of love letters in the form of vocal recollection of memories and everything that collectively exists in-between. This is Thought Daughter.

This is just a random ramble session I had at about 2 AM in the morning upon seeing the most horrific news regarding the kids and their lack of focus nor worry of their education now–especially so in Malaysia.
I know a lot of people have their own respective perspective regarding the subject of education and its privilege. But if you have more to add or to simply start a conversation, let's talk at @thyleia on Instagram!
Stay in school kids! 😭🤍
Welcome to a new series here on Thought Daughter where I invite my friends whose reading skills and capacity are just as crazy as I am. Join us as we talk, discuss, ramble,–all of the words that bring the same meaning to it–of the books that we are currently enjoying and devouring to the deepest core of our hearts and our mind.
My first ever guest–who might be a recurring guest here on this podcast considering our deeply related interests–is Alice Hani, the writer of the book and host of its joint podcast, 'Letters for You'. In this episode, we dived into our personal interpretations of Franz Kafka's work in his collection, 'Metamorphosis and Other Stories', a book which we both are reading together for the first time in 2 years.
We also dived into plenty other miscellaneous topics apart from Kafka unintentionally in this one. So we hope you enjoy an approximately 1 hour and 36 minutes of pure chaos.
This goes out to the people who have been in my DM saying they miss my podcast, this is dedicated to you 🤍
Adulting is already hard enough as it is and like many others before us, internship has somewhat become an integral part of life as we step a foot into this thing we often call "adulthood". Although being a working human without any compensation sucks, the memories and the knowledge we attain during that period of time shapes us into the person we are today, tomorrow, and forevermore as we strive to achieve the goals we have always dreamed about. In this episode, I share with you the experience I’ve had over the past 2 months completing my clinical skills training and the sweetest honey of memories dripped over it all with a little cherry on top 🍒 (Hint: witnessing my first ever surgical procedure! 💉)

The year is coming to an end. 2022 has been a rollercoaster ride of momentary joy and something that felt almost like a perpetual sadness with no end in sight. But we made it. We pulled through. I survived. So did you. So much lessons have been learned this year that I made sure of to exercise it more in the next coming years but also to be rid of some for all of future time. As this break from my tiring internship fleetingly continues, I reflected on what this year have brought me in this last episode of the year.
P.S. I deeply apologise for the ceaseless buzzing sound throughout the episode. We are upgrading to another microphone next year to amplify our experiences together. I promise! See you next year!

Relationship is a tricky thing. My young self had thought that it must have taken an unspoken miracle that is more than just "love" to exist for some lovers to stay until they are old and grey. How can two lovers be that committed to spend their whole life together? That is until I got myself into a 6 years long relationship. Now at the ripe age of 20, I too have my fair share of love stories that were once detrimental to my younger naive self and some that have brought immense joy to what I had once thought was a loveless heart. In this episode, I shamelessly bared to you a part of my love life along with a little session where I share my thoughts on your lovely questions.

To be a "beauty with brain" has always been the ultimate goal in life for an avid academic-validation-seeker as chronically concerning as I am. With where I find myself standing now, some curious cats are purring and rubbing their heads on the side of my leg wanting to know more of my educational journey and how I got up to this point in my life. Behold! A whole entire episode detailing the ups and downs of my educational pathway!

taking accountability of things takes a great deal of humility and courage. recollecting moments of vulnerability that forces one to take accountability, i recount my own personal moments with it as i commence the beginning of the podcast (once more) being on my own. we're all human and mistakes are bound to happen for the rest of your life as no one is made to be perpetually flawless. thus one should not beat oneself up for it and take one step at a time in building up the courage to take accountability.
