Zalanga is a recent graduate from Bethel University with a B.A. in community health and gender studies. “Thoughts of Public Health Student,” formerly known as “Catch Covid,” is a project Zalanga started while working with professors Joyce Doan and Tanden Brekke on their Interfaith Youth Core project. Over the fall of 2021, Zalanga formed this project to help decrease vaccination hesitancy in her communities. After completing this series (Catch Covid), Zalanga investigates the intersectionality in public health in the “Thoughts of a Public Health Student.”
