In today’s episode, I had such a great time speaking with Victoria Shaw. Not only is Victoria just a really cool woman to connect with and have conversations with, but she is also so passionate and knowledgeable about all things intuition. Victoria Shaw is an intuitive counselor and coach, and is also the host of the “Intuitive Connection Podcast”. I met Victoria through a mutual Facebook group that we are both a part of, and I knew that I definitely wanted to learn more about intuition and meet this amazing woman! In today’s episode, Victoria helps us explore the question of “What is intuition?”, and we dive into the age-old saying of a “gut reaction”. We talk about Victoria’s past and how everything she has done has brought her to where she is today in her life. I love how we talk about the “whispers of your soul”, and how we can learn how to listen to those whispers. We talk about one of my favorite topics...JOY! Victoria talks about how we haven’t been taught as a society and a culture to follow joy, and how we can teach ourselves how to trust ourselves, become grounded in who we are, and cultivate a happy spirit within us. So, grab your cozy beverage and gift yourself the time to enjoy the magic of Victoria Shaw! In this week’s episode, I had the great pleasure of speaking with the incredibly talented Holly Chayes! Holly and I met through a facebook group and when I heard what Holly does for her business, I was so intrigued and I was thinking, “I have got to meet this woman and have her on my show!” We hit it off immediately on our meet-n-greet zoom meeting, and I thought, “This woman could help me tremendously with my wardrobe and my closet!” Holly Chayes is “style coach and consultant helping you build and keep the wardrobe you want”. Anyone else struggle with what to wear sometimes? Staring into your closet for the “perfect outfit”? Yep, I believe that we’ve all been there! In today’s episode we dive into your closet and Holly gives you little prompts to help you pick out that outfit, like asking yourself, “How do I want to see me?”. Taking 3 minutes to see what you’re wearing and gifting yourself the answer of how you really want to see yourself that day. Holly talks about how we can honor ourselves with our wardrobes after this year that we’ve all been through with the Covid-19 pandemic (hint: pre-Covid there was not too much loungewear being worn; during Covid, lots and lots of loungewear being bought and worn). We also take it one layer deeper as we discuss the negative self-talk that so many of us live with, and how our wardrobe can be a positive way that we look at ourselves, and therefore, talk to ourselves. We also laugh about the “dreaded dressing rooms” that we’ve all been in while trying on clothes, and how the lighting and the mirrors usually don’t make for such great impressions! We talk about having compassion for ourselves with our clothing, and with our bodies. Other topics we touch on are decluttering, “getting rid of” or giving away clothes, photoshoots, and so much more!! There is so much greatness in this episode, so please grab your favorite beverage, and gift yourself the time to listen to the magic of Holly Chayes!! I will link her bio and all the ways that you can get in touch with Holly below. Thank you! XOXO, Katie Bio: Holly Chayes is a style coach & consultant helping you build and keep the wardrobe you want. She helps you keep what’s working, fix what’s broken, and align what’s out of wack. In today’s episode, we dive into topics such as radical self-love (where do we get it?), self-image, the constant need to run towards achievement, how society continues to see women as “self-less martyrs” (and the effects this belief is having on women), how to start to listen to the whispers of your heart, how the term “busy” has become something that’s “glorified” in our today’s society; and most importantly, how the simple fact that you are here on this earth means that you matter and that “YOU bring the value!” Grab your favorite cozy beverage, sit back and get ready for the magic of Dr. Dee Frayne!! In today’s episode, I had the great pleasure of speaking with Yelina Perez, Vegan Wellness Coach/Health and Wellness Lifestyle and BodyGoals Coach. I met Yelina on LinkedIn, where our passions for helping people live their healthiest and best lives brought us together. Although the foods on our plates look quite different, our mindsets surrounding living your healthiest and best life are very similar. Yelina brings such a young, fresh perspective on truly doing work that lights up your soul! At just 24 years old, Yelina has already started her corporate career and then really leaned into listening to her inner voice (which was driving her in a different direction than where she was headed with her corporate career), and she made the bold move to leave her 9-5 and step into her wellness business full-time! In this episode, Yelina tells us her story of her road to becoming a vegan, and how her mindset played a huge role in helping her leave that steady 9-5 job/income to step fully into her passion as a wellness and lifestyle coach. One of my most favorite quotes from Yelina in this interview is when talking about following your dreams, Yelina says, “It’s okay to be scared, but it’s not okay not to try”. BOOM!!
In this week’s episode, I had the fun and great pleasure of interviewing the magnetic Tara Romano. I met Tara at a women’s empowerment event in California about 4 years ago. Tara lit up the room with her fun energy, beautiful spirit and conviction of loving your body as you are today! I participated in a break-out session during this event where Tara took up through an inspirational talk and dance session where we got to explore our feminine energy and start to tune-in to the amazing women that we are! When you start to see the magic that Tara brings to her audiences and her dance classes, I just know that you are going to want to be a part of this incredible and much-needed movement that Tara is creating in this world!! In today’s episode, I had the great honor of interviewing Victoria Volk. Victoria is an Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, Holy Fire Reiki Master, and an End of Life Doula. Victoria shares with us her childhood grief of losing her father when she was only 8 years old, and how she “lost faith” at that time. Victoria goes on to share with us her journey to finding her faith again, and “coming home to (herself)”. Victoria has such a tender way of asking such thought-provoking questions like, “What pains have you not addressed?” and “How do you honor a loved one’s life?”. Some of my most favorite quotes from Victoria in this episode are: “Grief is our pandemic”, “We only heal to the depths that we’re willing to go”, and Be a heart with ears”. We encourage you to reach out to a health professional if you need support. Mental health has been brought to the forefront during the Covid-19 pandemic, and there are people and communities, and groups where you can find support. You are not alone. Are you ready for some energy!?! I know I am and that is one of the reasons why I have invited the incredibly inspiring Emily Hollister onto my podcast today! I met Emily through the magic of Instagram! Emily’s name on instagram is “fabover40healthandfitness”, and being a 44 year-old woman myself (and my love for health and fitness!), I just knew that I had to reach out to Emily and meet her!! Emily brings such a passion for her work into every conversation that we’ve had, and in today’s episode Emily really shines the light on her WHY. Emily comes with a 23 year background as an occupational therapist and what she has witnessed happening to people’s health and wellbeing over those years has helped inspire her to do the amazing work that she is doing today. In today’s episode, we talk about being a woman in her 40s, Emily’s life as a single mom to two teenage sons and being an entrepreneur all amidst the year that we’ve just all had with the Covid pandemic. We talk a lot about mindset and how we must nurture our minds, bodies and spirits in order to be in a state of balanced well-being. Emily talks about her history with an eating disorder, “finding herself”, the importance of personal development, and following your dreams. So, sit back, grab your favorite beverage and get energized with Emily Hollister!! I'm Emily , the ENERGIZER Health/Fitness Coach. I've always had a huge passion for health, fitness, and helping others live a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. I help women over 40 lose weight, feel more energized and confident to get their MOJO back with a fitness program tailored to your fitness level and without dieting!! As a 45 year old single mom of 2, working 23 years as an Occupational Therapist in skilled nursing, I know how stressful, busy, crazy and hectic life can get. While trying to juggle all of our daily responsibilities, we put ourselves and our health to the back burner. We end up developing unhealthy lifestyle habits including poor diet and inactivity that result in being overweight, lacking energy, feeling overwhelmed, and stressed. Over time, this unhealthy lifestyle can result in medical conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure requiring medications. I have seen the medical profession prescribe medications and never addressing the unhealthy lifestyle habits that may be contributing to the medical condition. When I first got into health and fitness, I approached it very wrongly. I would go on fad diets and overwork myself at the gym. I thought healthy eating was calorie restriction, weighing foods and cutting out healthy carbs. In turn, I did not feel my optimal best, and my weight fluctuated too much because of different diet routines and burning myself out at the gym. I was always feeling the need to "cheat" and I was not gaining energy. It came to a point where I didn’t want to do these diets anymore. I decided to go into personal fitness training, since working out was always one of my passions! I learned how to workout smarter for myself and how to help my clients workout the best way for them, with 30 minute at home workouts. Then I decided to go into nutrition. I wanted something that taught me and my clients how to make healthy eating into a lifestyle, how to eat without restriction, without calorie counting and without needing “cheat” days! I wanted to feel my best and treat my body with respect! Through my Fab Over 40 program, I want to help others realize that it’s okay to take time for yourself and your self care by developing better eating habits, taking time for fitness, and learning how to find balance in your life. It will result in a happier and healthier you, which will overflow in your relationships with spouse, family, friends, co workers, etc. During the past year, I decided to follow my passion of helping others become the best version of themselves, prevent these chronic conditions I have seen over the past 23 years, and became a fitness coach to represent this amazing program that gave me my MOJO back. I am now offering everyone access to this amazing fitness and nutrition program that has helped get me in the best shape, healthier, stronger, more energized and confident than ever. I just turned 45 and feel 25!! My fitness program includes 1 year access to over 1800 workouts for all fitness levels, from 10-60 minutes, all streamed through any device!! As your coach, I will help you find a fitness and nutrition program that fits your needs, goals, and lifestyle Nutrition plans with recipes included, and part of my accountability team, which helps keep people motivated. You are never alone in your journey. I started a YouTube channel called Energize with Emily. I want to motivate, inspire, empower, and help others lead a healthy life through music, motivation and motion, and show people that fitness is fun!! My YouTube Channel will have 10-20 min beginner and intermediate workouts with little to no equipment. I will be releasing my first E Book cookbook in the next month, including quick, easy, inexpensive, and healthy meal plans and recipes that helped me lose weight, keep it off, and have more energy!! In today’s episode, the incredibly gifted Julie Nuzzo shares her magic with us. When I first met Julie at HOME POWER YOGA in Cranford, NJ, there was an immediate connection. Not only does Julie have such a beautiful, calming presence about her, but when I found out that she was also a nurse, BOOM!, there was that instant nurse bond! Julie moves through the studio with such grace and elegance, as well as being firmly rooted in her knowledge and strength in the yoga practice. Julie would many times be in class being the hands-on (pre Covid!) adjuster, coming around and gently helping you dive deeper into your pose. Julie’s hands and heart are definitely not only a gift in the yoga studio, but Julie has also been an intensive care unit nurse for the last 16 years. Julie’s knowledge from her nursing career and love for overall health helped inspire her to pursue her yoga teacher training. In today’s episode, we talk about being an ICU nurse and the heart and soul, and self-care, that is so needed when working in such a high-stress and high-burnout area; as well as the lessons that Julie has learned as a nurse and how she brings those lessons onto her mat. Once you hear Julie’s voice and her passion for nursing and yoga, I’m sure you will find yourself following her absolutely beautiful Instagram page and if you’re lucky enough to be in her area, potentially taking one of her yoga classes! So, grab your cozy drink and get settled in for an episode that’ll calm your heart and your mind and inspire you to break out that yoga mat (or go buy one on Amazon!) Enjoy!!! In today’s episode, I had the great privilege and so much fun talking with and interviewing such a beautiful soul in this world, Liza Witonis! Liza is a wealth coach and is helping people to “live a fulfilling life by healing your relationship with money”. The subject of money seems like such a taboo topic to bring up that most people don’t even bring it up with the people closest to them (who know everything else about them). In today’s episode, we dive into our beliefs about money, the feelings we attach to money, and why most of us tend to neglect to nurture our relationship with money. I met Liza about 4 years ago through a business coach who I had hired at that time (and who now is a personal friend to both of us), and Liza was (and still is) a part of this wonderful business coach’s team. Within minutes of meeting Liza, I know that she was someone whose energy I wanted to be around. Talking with and getting to know Liza made me feel like I could be open and vulnerable with her and share my deepest fears, and hopes and dreams, and goals. Liza is truly a gem of a human being to have in my life and I’m so excited to share her and her magic with my community!! Liza has been there, she was living a life where she didn’t know where her money was going. The end of the month would come, and she wouldn’t have enough money to buy groceries or pay her monthly bills…and she knew something had to change. Wealth is so much more than what you think it is. It is the thread that connects your body, heart, soul, and emotion together. Liza teaches how to live a fulfilling life by healing your relationship with money, creating a money plan that allows you to save, build personal wealth, and pay off debt. She’ll dive deep into your financial hopes and dreams and create real wealth-building strategies to get you where you want to be. Being on her own financial journey for the last six years, Liza has increased her quality of life by having the best relationship she ever had with money (including conversations with her husband), and paying off over $320,000 in debt within six years. Now she teaches others how to do the same. She works with clients 1:1 via online and in-person coaching sessions. In this week’s episode, I had the great privilege of interviewing a sweet, magnetic friend of mine, Gaby Abrams. Gaby and I met through a mutual mindset mentor last summer, and then we formed a 4-woman mastermind with 2 of the other women we met in the group. I’ve gotten to know Gaby through our every-other-week zoom calls, and the magic that Gaby is putting out into this world is truly transformational!! Gaby is a rapid transformation coach for entrepreneurs. In Gaby’s bio on IG, Gaby states that rapid transformation coaching “rewires your subconscious mind for success”. In this episode, we dive into Gaby’s story of how she was a lawyer in NYC, and then moved into finance in NYC. Gaby then went onto opening her own ETSY stationery and design business. Through building her own business, Gaby started to realize the power of mindset as it relates to becoming successful, or not successful, at what one is doing in his/her life. Gaby started learning about Rapid Transformation Coaching, and the rest is history! So grab your cozy drink, sit back and enjoy the magic that is Gaby Abrams!! https://www.gabyabrams.com/ https://www.instagram.com/gaby.abrams/ https://www.facebook.com/garmas1 https://www.facebook.com/groups/gabyabrams Correction to my own website: https://katiecarrollcoaching.com/
In this week’s episode, I had the great honor of interviewing Lacey Magen Naematullah, BSN, RN. Lacey is a Mentor for New Nurses, and the founder of “The Empowered Nurse”. I met Lacey through the nursing world on social media. I was drawn to Lacey’s magnetic personality, as well as her perspective on the nursing world. I met up with Lacey in person a couple of years ago at a nurse meet-up that Lacey had organized. It was great to meet her in person and get to take a yoga class together and enjoy great conversations with the people that were attending the meet-up! I knew that Lacey was someone that I would definitely want to interview for my podcast, and have her share her insights and light with my audience! In today’s episode, we talk about being a nurse in today’s world, especially as we are living through the Covid pandemic. We also talk about the journey of a new grad nurse, as well as the journey of a nurse years into her career. We talk about the age old saying that “Nurses eat their young”, and Lacey’s perception on this long-standing belief, and how we could learn to pivot away from such a daunting notion. We talk about Lacey’s hope for all nurses, and Lacey’s goals for her business, as well as her life as a nurse, wife and mother! Enjoy!!
