In the Season of Waiting

The Lord Will Provide (Summer Neely)

Our beloved Reformer Board Seat, Summer Neely, sits with Emily to share her moving testimony. Summer shares the story of finding a tumor on her ovaries that could be cancerous, battling gallstones, and dealing with the possibility of a full hysterectomy. However, God provided. Even after a partial hysterectomy, Summer was able to have her sweet baby boy. He fulfilled her dream of being a mom. Two years later, God made a way when there seemed to be no way. He provided the perfect job, apartment, and community for Summer in that season. God orchestrated everything so beautifully. Throughout her life, Summer has seen “God Winks” as He provided in ways she never imagined. God brought her story full circle, working it all out for good. Encouragement from Summer:Keep your faith. Don’t let the enemy have a foothold in your life. Trust God in your season of uncertainty. Find your people. A community that will speak life into you and fight the battles with you. Find a Bible that works for you.  Share your struggles with people you trust. Let people see your mess.

Coming Back from Brokenness (Tabitha Holcomb)

The desire to feel loved & valued only left her feeling broken, shameful & alone. Tabitha explains that in the moment she couldn’t see God in any of her situation, but she knows now He was there. There was healing to come. There was forgiveness on the other side. The love of Jesus was revealed to her in a new & beautiful way through the people around her. Jesus stayed with her through her mess. He blessed her with everything she needed to heal. Tabitha admits that it takes time to forgive & move on. But she reminds us, that as Christians, we have to forgive. Holding onto unforgiveness is detrimental. Tabitha encourages us to walk in the love, grace, and forgiveness of Christ, and not in the shame of your past. Tips from Tabitha:  Find a christian counselor. Seek help.  The Bible is your ultimate resource.  Surround yourself with people who will speak life into you. Dependent on God (Chelsey Downs)

She dives into the truth of independence and the peace God offers.  While the world can look at independence as a bad thing, Chelsey encourages us to thrive in a season of independence by being dependent on God. Tips from Chelsey:  Protect your peace. Create boundaries. Do what makes you happy. Remove yourself from chaotic lifestyles. Break the cycles of the enemy in your life Build your foundation on Christ. Accept your worth and identity in Him. Continue to lay the foundation of Christ in your life. It is impossible to go through difficult seasons without a foundation in Him.  Listen for His voice.  God does not withhold answers from you. He is always listening. Always faithful. Lean into Him and deepen your relationship. Be open and obedient to hear His voice.  Take care of yourself.  It’s okay to heal. Allow yourself to become fully complete before moving into the next thing. Find ways to fill your cup and love yourself.  Foster healthy Christian relationships.   Find a community where you can grow in Godly relationships with men and women. Press into those friendships. Community is everything.
