Description

Tiny Victories is the 15 minute podcast that pushes back on the notion that you have to "go big" or "go home". Sometimes just going is the victory. Each week, hosts Annabelle Gurwitch and Laura House invite listeners to adopt a TINY victory frame of mind, and share tales of fleeting joys and minor accomplishments in this majorly messed-up world.

On this, our final episode, we hear from a new listener who discovered Tiny Victories a mere week or two ago…and still called in with her Tiny Victories-related tiny victory. As Annabelle points out, the caller has 158 more episodes that she can enjoy. As podcasts go, this is but a tiny little show, and yet in the course of three years, it’s helped Annabelle and Laura and the Tiny Victories community feel connected as the world itself fell–and continues to fall–apart. But even as Tiny Victories wraps up, the tiny victories frame of mind will not. Join Annabelle and Laura in this final episode, as they react to listener calls and share their love for you, the Tiny Victories community. Also, keep in touch! The show’s going away, but Annabelle and Laura are online, reachable, and happy for you to share your victories with them.Things You Should Stop Worrying About This WeekHBO execs trolling the comments sections of the trade papers“AI” being selected as Collins Dictionary’s Word of the YearThis episode is sponsored by…Microdose GummiesMicrodose Gummies deliver perfect, entry-level doses of THC that help you feel just the right amount of good. This episode could also have been titled, “And It All Started with My Dog’s Eye Infection”. The “it” here would be everything that happened after she had to cancel a proper vacation to tend to an eye infection afflicting Millie. Stefanie Wilder-Taylor filled in for Annabelle again for the second week in a row, and tells us about every step of the journey she took deciding whether–or not!-to meet her friends for dinner on the tail end of a busy weekend. You know how some people collect sand or rocks from the places they travel? Annabelle collects sounds. At the beginning of summer, she toured with a band that played a huge music festival in The Netherlands, and one souvenir of that trip was the croaking of Belgian frogs. She’s recently-returned from Rome, Italy, with two new sounds, and her sightseeing highlights. Things You Should Stop Worrying About This WeekToxic mercury in beauty creamsSkyrocketing cases of gonorrheaThe Rat Tsar of New YorkScrabble Verbing VerbThis episode is sponsored by…Microdose GummiesMicrodose Gummies deliver perfect, entry-level doses of THC that help you feel just the right amount of good. Let’s go ahead and put this out on the table now: there’s a LOT of drama behind the scenes at Tiny Victories. Well, a lot of tech drama. One of the hosts has a pretty good relationship with technology, and the other does not. This means that sometimes there are tech delays, and the start time gets pushed back. Last week was such a week. And this week, someone wants to gloat a little bit about last week. It’s kind of like schadenfreude, but with a bit of glee sprinkled in. At the end of this episode (It's Alright To Cryyyy, April 11, 2022) you discuss a listener's call from episode 75. You mention episode 75 multiple times, saying we should listen to this call. But there is NOWHERE that lists your episodes numbers! Not on this app, not on the website, no episode numbers! So, if anyone else is interested, episode 75 is from March 28, 2022 and it is called "The Joy's of Unimpressive Living". That's where you can find the call from a woman in Georgia.
