Description
In 2016, a popular high school senior mysteriously disappeared on the night before Thanksgiving. His remains were found two years later. What happened to Tom Brown in the small town of Canadian, Texas that night? It seems everyone in town’s become a suspect, including Tom’s family, friends, the local sheriff, and a high-flying private investigator. Acclaimed writer Skip Hollandsworth digs into the mystery that’s torn this town apart in this eight-part true crime podcast series.

He tragically killed himself. The family knew it. They wanted a coverup. He came out to someone. mom obviously isn't ok with that. they had a fight which is why he was making plans to spend Thanksgiving somewhere else. I think the last episode nailed it, he died within a few miles of where his granddad killed himself. no way that was a coincidence, he was trying to get there and got tired and ended it a few miles short. These incompetent men are just sort of there. its not surprising there is a hothead PI and an idiot sheriff, it's completely unrelated. It is obviously very sad for this family but what on earth are they doing?! all this for what? crazy story.
I think Tom died by suicide. I think the family knows, which is why they wouldn't let the police into their house the night of Tom's disappearance. I think they hired Klein so that his team would find Tom's body. I think that most likely , Tucker found Tom's phone in his car when the police returned it the next day. I think Tucker probably planted the phone during the search. I think it is all a coincidence that the sheriff is inept. My guess is the police missed finding the phone in the car during the search and it was still there when returned to the family. I don't think there is a cover up. I don't think he was murdered. I think if it were an accidental shooting, someone would have talked by now.
her grief isn't like complete shock and devastation it's guilt!!
I'm sorry, like it's sad and everything but at this point in the story I just don't trust the mom. idk. the investigator and sheriff suck too but shes just not 100
mom is sus!!!! I dont think she did it but she is NOT 100% honest
ok and then his parents are "the furthest he walked was from his room to the fridge" but he was a damn runner on the football team!!!! his family is sus to me tbh I think they are covering certain aspects of his personality
alsooooo why is he going to someone else's house for Thanksgiving?
so mom is "shocked" by the diapers even though she caught him wearing them??? hmmmmmm
I was hooked at week 1 due in large part to the amazing storytelling and interviews by Mr. Hollandsworth. He should do more true crime serials! I will definitely subscribe!!!
sound like the sheriff lied about processing the Durango
The sheriff is a liar and the mom is in serious denial.
The sheriff is upsetting. multiple people say that Lewis told them that Tom ran off with an older man, or he is gay, or that he was a runaway. But then Lewis says that he never said that. Small town sheriff...Stop lying!
Such a pleasure to listen without commercial breaks
Great podcast! Excellent story telling and well put together.
woah
👍
"I love kicking down doors" is not policing Rambo!!
from what I heard so far, sounds like an entitled kid with a mom who has a kid that has never done anything wrong! I'm sure there's more to come!
So many questions left unasked and why so much focus on the diapers!
It seems that all the questions in this case are about Tom Brown and the events affecting him. I wonder if maybe a different perspective, perhaps looking at the events of others that evening or leading up to the evening of his disappearance might shed some light. This podcast does the best job of cutting though the BS and reporting the facts.
