Description

In 2016, a popular high school senior mysteriously disappeared on the night before Thanksgiving. His remains were found two years later. What happened to Tom Brown in the small town of Canadian, Texas that night? It seems everyone in town’s become a suspect, including Tom’s family, friends, the local sheriff, and a high-flying private investigator. Acclaimed writer Skip Hollandsworth digs into the mystery that’s torn this town apart in this eight-part true crime podcast series.

From the Texas Monthly team behind “Boomtown”—a popular eleven-part podcast series about the culture and economy of the West Texas oil fields—“Tom Brown’s Body” launches September 29 and is the first narrative podcast series from Hollandsworth.

I am completely overwhelmed with this shown.. the producers writers and narrator has done an amazing job laying out all the facts that they were able to garnish during their investigation.

Well that escalated quickly on so many levels, I had to roll back a couple times to make sure I heard what I heard. This sheriff, man. I can see he's going to be a great source of rage for me 🤬🔥

Excellent podcast, so thoughtful and engaging. Well done! Skip, thanking your wife at the end shows what kind of man you are. Character matters!

So the Sheriff can make crazy accusations against the deceased and the family of the deceased based on nothing but his opinions but when he's accused the accusations are laughable and hurtful? I guess evidence doesn't matter to him 🤷🏼‍♀️ The cover up is real!

I'm so fascinated by this podcast which I'm keenly aware of somebody's life. My heart breaks for Tom's family. I have listened to each episode several times trying to catch something I may have missed. By the way, I really loathe that sheriff. Thank you for your work. You are a fantastic host.

Awesome podcast. Many things don't add up. How could someone have cleaned the Durango of blood and it still be as dusty as the Sheriff claimed it was? If Tom took his own life, how did he accomplish it? There is no mention of any weapon near his remains. This case is crazy, and definitely should be an Unsolved Mysteries episode.

Did I somehow miss if a weapon was found with his remains? Because I feel like you can DEFINITELY rule out suicide if there was no noose, gun, blade, helium tank, etc.

The sheriff sure likes to make excuses, I don't believe that a law enforcement professional would to that nervous taking a lie detector if he was completely innocent, and not hiding anything. Listening to him speak, he sounded like a liar

that cop seems completely inept, and uninterested in actually solving a crime, probably had something to do with it. one of those cops who is pretentiously certain they know the truth, unwilling to explore other angles, regardless of how unlikely, people do crazy things, and neither logic nor reason rarely have anything to do with it

You'd be surprised what suicide victims will do before they do it. My cousin got all set for her senior year at school. Bought all her supplies and every thing and took her life the Fri day before school started the following week.

I don't like this 32 year old, hot-headed, drug-warrior sheriff. His story about the Rotary Club conversation was clearly fabricated.
