Steve Goreham is an informative and engaging speaker, delivering compelling and provocative programs to businesses, universities, and diverse organizations. Steve is an independent scholar, researcher, and futurist in the fields of energy and environmental policy, as well as a former engineer and business executive with 30 years of experience at Fortune 100 and private companies. He’s Executive Director of the Climate Science Coalition of America and a policy advisor to The Heartland Institute. Steve is author of four books on energy, climate change, sustainability, and public policy with over 100,000 copies in print. In this episode, Steve Goreham discusses the controversies and outcomes surrounding the recent COP 29 climate conference, and criticizes the effectiveness and practicality of current climate policies and renewable energy initiatives. He argues that global efforts to curb CO2 emissions and switch to renewable energy have largely been ineffective, costly, and sometimes counterproductive, citing examples such as the increase in extreme weather-exposed renewable installations and the significant electrical demands posed by emerging technologies like AI. Goreham also predicts a future pushback against these green policies, driven by their economic and practical shortcomings, leading to a return to more reliable and low-cost energy sources. 00:00 Global Meat Consumption Trends 00:13 Introduction to Steve Goreham and COP 29 00:53 Controversies and Outcomes of COP 29 02:43 The Futility of COP Conferences 03:00 The Reality of Global Energy Consumption 03:46 Wealth Transfer and Climate Aid 05:29 The Impracticality of Net Zero Goals 08:31 Challenges with Renewable Energy 11:41 The Future of Global Energy 16:05 Europe's Energy Crisis 20:02 The Viability of Alternative Fuels 24:38 The High Cost of Sustainable Aviation Fuel 24:51 Mandates and Loss of Freedom 26:28 California's Controversial Policies 28:37 The Reality of Renewable Energy 31:07 Global Energy Crisis and Blackouts 42:30 The Future of Nuclear Energy 44:07 The Proliferation of Climate Laws 46:05 Conclusion and Final Thoughts https://www.stevegoreham.com/ https://x.com/stevegoreham ========= AI summaries of all of my podcasts (plus transcripts of recent podcasts): https://tomn.substack.com/p/podcast-summaries About Tom Nelson: https://linktr.ee/tomanelson1 AI summaries of all of my podcasts: https://tomn.substack.com/p/podcast-summaries YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL89cj_OtPeenLkWMmdwcT8Dt0DGMb8RGR X: https://x.com/TomANelson Substack: https://tomn.substack.com/ About Tom: https://tomn.substack.com/about

David Hilderman has a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Electronic Information Systems Engineering from the University of Regina and has worked in the electronics industry since graduation in 1988. David grew up in Saskatchewan, the second oldest in a family of six boys.  Since 2000 he has lived in beautiful Saanichton British Columbia, raising two great kids with his lovely wife. He went to the Victoria area to combine his engineering experience and love of music production to work for TC-Helicon, a company that makes products for performing musicians. He worked there for 19 years, five of which were in the role of Chief Operating Officer. Early 2020 he became aware of the fact that sea level rise rates were not accelerating.  In Victoria, the rate of rise has not changed over the entire record since 1909 and is only 0.75mm/yr.   This began his research in other climate alarmist claims.  Reality is so counter to the narrative and the consequences of acting on the narrative are so detrimental that he felt he needed to do something about it. In 2021 he ran in the federal election against the Green Party incumbent, Elizabeth May, and had the opportunity to debate her on the issue of climate five times. He continues to be active in his community, working to educate people on the benefits of increasing atmospheric CO2. 00:00 Introduction: The Impact of Deception 00:31 Energy Consumption Around the World 04:45 Data Analysis and Methodology 08:07 Climate Change Narratives and Media Influence 10:54 Political Dynamics in Canada 20:09 Personal Journey and Climate Skepticism 37:25 Questioning the Origins of Hydrocarbons 38:14 Introduction to Martin Armstrong's Economic Model 40:13 Martin Armstrong's Predictions and Legal Troubles 41:40 Discussion on US National Debt and Global Economic Concerns 47:24 Climate Change and CO2 Emissions Debate 54:37 Haiti: Culture, Challenges, and Voodoo Beliefs 01:15:34 Concluding Thoughts and Future Plans https://co2coalition.org/teammember/david-hilderman/ https://x.com/david_hilderman 34% of the world’s weather stations have experienced 70+ year cooling trends: https://x.com/TomANelson/status/1858837448496754999 Pollock: Solar panels don’t make sense above 35 degrees latitude: https://x.com/TomANelson/status/1841626005976318009 ========= AI summaries of all of my podcasts (plus transcripts of recent podcasts): https://tomn.substack.com/p/podcast-summaries About Tom Nelson: https://linktr.ee/tomanelson1 AI summaries of all of my podcasts: https://tomn.substack.com/p/podcast-summaries YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL89cj_OtPeenLkWMmdwcT8Dt0DGMb8RGR X: https://x.com/TomANelson Substack: https://tomn.substack.com/ About Tom: https://tomn.substack.com/about

After graduating from high school, HARRY DECKER spent ten years in the U.S. Air Force working with computers in military intelligence. He has lived in ten different states and took college classes in five of them. He never completed a college degree, however, due to changing his mind about his career. He has attended various technical schools over the years to keep up with the changing industry. In civilian life, he worked as a computer operator, programmer, technical writer, and tech support specialist for various companies such as Maricopa County, St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Information Network Corporation, and Charles Schwab International. His hobby at one time was tournament chess, but he dropped that and took up creative writing and filmmaking. He had a short story published five years ago titled “A. I. Gone Amok,” a fictional tale about the dangers of artificial intelligence and that the deep state was planning on releasing a virus that would kill millions. Now retired, he writes and directs plays. And he’s working on a short film. He has also written numerous technical reports over the past three years that challenge climate alarmist claims and the green agenda.  00:00 Introduction to Harry Decker's Presentation 00:17 Critique of the United Nations and Climate Change Policies 01:50 The Concept of Net Zero and Its Challenges 02:46 Historical Context and Failures of the United Nations 04:16 Global Conflicts and Humanitarian Issues 06:40 The United Nations' Stance on Climate Change 08:15 Criticism of Mainstream Media and Climate Predictions 11:28 The Role of Automobiles in Pollution and Climate Change 17:09 Electric Vehicles: Benefits and Drawbacks 18:26 The Impact of Lithium Mining and Battery Production 28:00 Challenges in Aviation and Sustainable Fuel 33:08 Agriculture and the Role of Tractors 36:46 Shipping Industry and Fossil Fuel Dependency 40:58 The Environmental Impact of Bunker Fuel 41:22 Cleaner and Greener Container Ships 42:00 The Growing Fleet of Container Ships 43:01 Luxury Yachts and Their Environmental Footprint 44:09 The Role of Trucks and Trains in Freight Transport 45:48 The Massive Fuel Consumption of Military and Naval Vessels 48:17 Cruise Ships and Their Environmental Concerns 50:12 The Ubiquity of Heavy Machinery and Equipment 55:07 The Debate on Climate Change and Media Narratives 01:10:34 The Future of Energy and Fossil Fuels 01:12:04 Conclusion: The Reality of Achieving Net Zero Slides for this podcast, along with AI summaries of all of my podcasts: https://tomn.substack.com/p/podcast-summaries https://x.com/hdeckeraz ======== My Linktree: https://linktr.ee/tomanelson1 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL89cj_OtPeenLkWMmdwcT8Dt0DGMb8RGR X: https://twitter.com/TomANelson Substack: https://tomn.substack.com/ About Tom: https://tomn.substack.com/about

Andy May is a writer. He is a retired petrophysicist and has published four books. He worked on oil, gas and CO2 fields in the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, China, UK North Sea, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela and Russia. He specialized in shale petrophysics, fractured reservoirs, wireline and core image interpretation and capillary pressure analysis, besides conventional log analysis. In this episode, climate science writer Andy May highlights his criticisms of mainstream climate change consensus and the suppression of non-consensus ideas. May discusses historical and recent examples of censorship in scientific publishing, arguing that peer review is broken and that important dissenting voices are often silenced. He concludes with skepticism about the effectiveness of the IPCC and COP meetings, emphasizing the need for open scientific discourse free from political influence. 00:00 Introduction and Background 00:39 Suppression of Non-Consensus Climate Ideas 01:18 Case Studies of Rejected Papers 04:21 The Role of Peer Review in Climate Science 06:55 Historical Examples of Suppressed Scientific Work 08:37 Current Climate Science Debates 13:06 IPCC Reports and Political Influence 16:52 Sea Level Rise and Climate Models 20:18 Solar Activity and Climate Change 23:41 Censorship and Its Impact on Science 29:29 Future of Climate Science and Peer Review 32:12 Concluding Thoughts and Audience Q&A Slide, summary, and transcript for this podcast are available here: https://tomn.substack.com/p/podcast-summaries https://andymaypetrophysicist.com/ https://x.com/Andy_May_Writer Related article: https://andymaypetrophysicist.com/2024/09/27/suppression-of-science-and-inconvenient-truths/ ========= AI summaries of all of my podcasts: https://tomn.substack.com/p/podcast-summaries My Linktree: https://linktr.ee/tomanelson1 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL89cj_OtPeenLkWMmdwcT8Dt0DGMb8RGR X: https://twitter.com/TomANelson Substack: https://tomn.substack.com/ About Tom: https://tomn.substack.com/about
