You know, I actually SAY, "You sound like you're in a hole!" in this interview.  For this episode Rebels, sadly, I do. But it's not too deep a hole, I promise. But what an interesting guest Anthony was. In a still relatively young life, he's experienced more highs and lows than most people, myself included. AND he still steals his kids' Halloween candy! A man after my own heart. Or my Snickers bar...one or the other. If you'd like, check out my interview on his show. Hopefully he hasn't yet set fire to it and buried the ashes. Another episode in my never-ending pursuit to bring all music to the masses! Or something like that. You can just tell how much fun it was to talk to Aubrey. Before our interview, I had commented to her that she sent me down a rabbit hole, because I'd never known of many female jazz trombonists. Well, let me tell you Rebels, there are plenty, and, as Aubrey explained, "And, we all know each other!" You gotta love speaking to anyone who can give you an answer like that. I think she's the first guest I've interviewed to have the last laugh on Simon Cowell. That is, unless you don't count the guy who was on bedpan duty when he was in the hospital. (Never mind, I've said too much.) Anyway, have a listen to the interview, and the featured music, and go check out her website, buy her music, and see her in concert. Thanks so much to Aubrey and her management team. Long live the Queen of Sass! I hope that when you, dear listeners, hear interviews, like today's chat with Michael, keep in mind that there is always hope even when things may seem to be at their most dire or bleak.  It's certainly not the easiest thing to focus on in hard times, but trust me, it's there. Just have a listen to Michael's show, and that idea is confirmed.Plus, he brings a level of empathy and relatability, through the events in his own personal life. Maybe shows like this will inspire you. Right now, I'm inspired. To fix myself some lunch. Hey, writing positive things build up my appetite, what can I say? Thanks, Michael, for coming on the show! After over 140 episodes, I'm surprised that I haven't spoken to to more podcasters with radio backgrounds, with of course, the exception being the brilliant Mr. Bruce (or Uncle Bruce, if you're listening to our "Too Many 80's Songs" mini-podcast on Spotify....and why aren't you?? Either way, the check is in the mail.) But Big Skinny definitely has that classic country music radio voice. Certainly not one that you'd confuse with the BBC. He's definitely a down-to- earth Texan who just has such a love for a lot of the music that we both grew up on. Which is why it's so easy to have a "Casual Conversation" with him. By the way, Big Skinny did the recording of our interview, and I did the mixing and editing on it. I felt it really sounded like we were in the same room, and I almost sounded like I did back in my college radio days, where my show would regularly finish behind static in the ratings. Thanks, Big Skinny, and I'll keep an eye on Danny's tv watching habits!! In a lot of my episodes up to this point, I've spoken to people who've had their time in the spotlight. ( Not me, Rebels, I sunburn too easily). They've all gone down separate roads since that time. Today, you'll get to hear Deborah's story, which is also a reflection on the highs and lows of her life. Whether she was in or out of the spotlight, you can tell that she put the work in to be successful, from a young girl to today. I found her story to be very interesting. I really respect the drive and determination she had, regardless of which direction that her life took a turn. She also provides a lot of common sense advice that some of us may forget when we are struggling. Hmmmm...I didn't mention it until now, but I can see a podcast in her future. ( I mean her own!!) Thanks, Deborah, and don't forget me when your podcast becomes famous! (Besides, how fast are you going to forget a short guy with a yak? The Bee Gees, you say? Yep. I think it's pretty cool how David uses his passion as a superfan and reaches out to other superfans with a great podcast. ( Listen on Spotify, and hear their music along with the show.) Some of you might not be aware of their whole catalogue. They're just not the artists who did that "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack (one of the highest selling movie soundtracks ever)? Well then, you've got a lot of catching up to do, Blinky! Mr. Fedor, I do believe we've caught got some Bee Gees-curious minds. Either that, or they're trying to sell me timeshares on the island of Dua Lipa. I can never tell. Now, Rebels, you just KNOW that a guy who went from an engineer in Great Britain to a teacher in Brazil to a relationship coach in Los Angeles has got an interesting tale to tell. And luckily, on today's episode, you get to hear that story. (And if you didn't, talk about a waste of a show notes intro. ) I've gotten to talk to a lot of folks who can help with relationships, and they all come from interesting perspectives. And notice that they never proclaim to have perfect relationships themselves. We're all human, and we're all allotted our share of mistakes. (Of course, I've been overdrawn on my allotment since 1984, but that's another story.) So, have a listen to my conversation with Andrew, Even if you're in a happy , functioning relationship, then just enjoy his cool, British accent! This may come as a bit of a shock to you, Rebels, but Carmelle told me before our interview that she really doesn't do many podcast interviews. Now you're probably thinking, "Whaaaaaaaat??!!" Here's a lady who is an ideal podcast guest. She's got interesting stories about her fitness journey. She's highly knowledgeable in her field. She paints an honest picture for her clients with their expectations, and when talking about the realities of fitness and nutrition. She's a far cry from the Jack LaLanne trainer who told Sherpa brother that he could (and I'm not making this up) "make his $500.00 gold chain just pop off just by tensing his neck up." Wow, what a useful life skill. So instead, have a listen to Carmelle. She'll take the journey with you. Thanks for coming on the show, Carmelle! What a pleasure this interview was, Rebels! I've been fortunate to interview a few former child stars, but Jill really made it her mission to be involved with entertainment, one way or the other. And as you'll hear in the interview, so much of her life has come full circle. I thought it was so cool that she still referred to Gavin MacLeod as "my tv dad". (Trivia fun fact-Only Jill and Helen Hunt can say that about him.) So, whether she's sailing the high seas or "setting and forgetting it", she's really come a long way . This was an episode that came out of the blue. I was contacted through a website by Renee, who said she'd like to come on the show to talk about competitive pole dancing. So, naturally, knowing absolutely nothing about this, I said, "Of course!" (Which is how i got into college. And became a superhero.)To hear Renee explain it, this is more about body positivity than the stigma that is is attached to it. I know. This isn't the sort of title you'd normally expect from an episode of Too Many Podcasts! Nor the interview that you will hear in this episode. But, imagine yourself in the place of my guest, David Ogman, for a moment. You have a young son with a rare, fatal genetic disease and you want to do all that you can to raise money for gene therapy and research to battle this disease. All during a horrific pandemic . Not exactly a slice of everyday life for many of us, is it? Honestly, to prepare for this interview, I wasn't sure what I needed to do, until finally, I realized, what I need to do is help. I've been lucky to have a show with over 11,000 listens, so I can, at least, be a voice for someone. As can you, the listener. Please listen to what David has to say in this interview. While facing the possibility of an unimaginable outcome as a parent, instead, this interview is filled with hope. Which is something we all need. If you're not inclined to listen, at least pay a visit to savingjordan.org to learn about Jordan's story, and what we can all do to help. After you've done that, please share this with others and help spread the word. There! You've done a good deed for the day. Now encourage others to do so!. If you'd like to contact David with fundraising ideas, emall him at jordan.ogman@gmail.com. This episode was just too much fun! I think Dr. Andrea and I were laughing about 15 minutes before we started recording, and 20 minutes after her interview. No small surprise, she's a wonderful conversationalist with a great sense of humor. I told her beforehand to just have fun, and did we ever! It's funny-I tend to shy away from business podcasts, because so many turn into that big ad for "Make A Million Dollars By Selling Old Socks. But "Talk About Talk" is such a FAR cry from that. Right now, it's the bathroom, because I think I drank a bit too much Mister Pibb while typing this. Curse you, sippy cup! Thanks, Gary, for coming on the show! How many podcasters do you know with their own podcast, and a podcast app to go with it? That many? Wow, I've got to get out more...But I digress. I enjoyed talking with Tiago about this "casting of pods" world. I strongly recommend his app too. Very simple to use.(Plus, this show is on it!) If I was listening to "Podcast Overhaul "before launching my own show, I'm sure my forehead wouldn't have as many dents, from banging it against the keyboard! Live and learn, as they say. (Who is "they" anyway?) Anyway, much thanks to Tiago for coming on the show! After our interview, Tim was telling me how he met Tom Hanks, when he was on "From The Earth To The Moon." He said talking to Tom Hanks is like talking with your neighbor. He said he really appreciated how Tom treats people so nice, and he said that he wants to do that with his career, as well. As far as this interview was concerned, all I can say is, "Mission accomplished."  He really wants to make his mark on the screen, playing different characters in diverse roles, and making a few friends along the way. I can certainly see that happening in Tim's career. Keep an eye on this guy, rebels. And thanks again, Tim! Yes, Rebels, this episode truly is a Season 6 favorite.  Nothing like learning and laughing at the same time. Casey's podcast is a unique look at the world of classical music. And she's the first to come armed to a Sherpa interview with a violin. (If only my kazoo wasn't at the shop being tuned. Or kicked. Or something like that.) So as you can see, nothing to be intimidated by when it comes to classical music. Except maybe falling into that kettle drum. Or having a music stand hurled at me like it was Thor's hammer. But apart from that, it's worry-free. Thanks so much to Casey for such a fun interview!! So far this season, I've spoken to 2 guys with beards that could house the Sherpa-Lu Studio players! (Hmmm....that gives me an idea. ) Unfortunately, I didn't get to speak with Wil for very long, because he had other interviews lined up, and his daughter wasn't feeling that great, so he was off to be a good dad. Which is another part he's playing, come to think of it. Maybe we'll catch him in the "Game of Thrones" sequel....you just never know. I can see him playing a god . Or warrior, Or lawyer. Wait, do dragon slayers need lawyers? Either way, thanks for the interview, Wil! I think if you've got a podcast and you want to bring it to a video platform, then John's show is what you need to listen to. And of course, if you're looking for an example of what not to do week, to week, congratulations, Columbus, welcome to the New World! Wait, did I say "Welcome to Season 6"? Apparently not, and fortunately, the voices in my head didn't answer. John was lots of fun to talk to, and his studio literally looked like a fake Zoom background, but you can tell the work that he's doing is very real. John actually interviewed someone who was supposed to be on this show. I interviewed them, but the file was unusable.. Well, because my voice was on it-do you blame me? Anyway, I'm glad he got his interview.. And thanks so much for coming on the show!
