In this weeks installment of Torah Topics, we give the run down on Parashat Shelach (meaning "Send," found in Numbers 13:1 - 15:41). The portion teaches us the importance of trusting in our Creator rather then grumbling about our circumstances. In the course of today's portion we discussed the nephilim, some finer points on how the Hebrew itself reads, and even touched on the Trinity. All this and more on this weeks Torah Topics!

As this past week was without a Torah Portion, we instead studied the passages on Shavuot! We discussed the connection between Shavuot and Pentecost, the differences between Greek and Hebraic thought, and how a cohesive life depends upon a cohesive world view. We run through the "10 Commandments," how there are technically more then the 10 we generally think of, and how it relates to the 613 mitzvot also given to Moses by Elohim.

This week we discuss Parashat Bamidbar (Numbers 1:1 - 4:20), starting off with a famous debate between the Pharisees and the Sadducees about when to start counting the Omer after Passover, which determines when Shavuot actually begins. We also discuss some Hebraic linguistics and the importance of being more then just a number, and how this relates to this weeks portion. Finally we end this weeks addition of Torah Topics with an intriguing question about the Prophets, and the favor God bestows upon His people when they follow after His will and His Torah.

In this weeks episode of Torah Topics, we finish the book of Leviticus by covering the double portion of Behar and Bechukotai (Leviticus 25:1 - 27:34). Here we discuss the fascinating concept of the Jubilee year, amongst so much more!
In today's installment of Torah Topics we discuss Parashat Emor (Meaning "Speak," Leviticus 21:1 - 24:23). We open with a listing of the Moadim as it is listed in the portion, how sin can defile God's holy temple, different requirements for the Levitical priesthood, and even touched a little on the Church and the scattered Kingdom of Ephraim (Israel) as noted in John 11:49-52. We also talk a little on the origins of the Feasts of Trumpets.
This weeks Torah Portion is another double portion, Parashat Achrei Mot - Kedoshim (Leviticus 16:1 - 20:27), focusing largely upon God's Law as it pertains to Holiness. Enjoy!

This week we dive straight into Parashat Terumah (Exodus 25-27:19), where we discuss the specifications of building the Tabernacle.
Today we open the discussion on Parshat Mishpatim (Exodus 21:1–24:18). Here God lays out many of the 613 laws He sets forth for His people to live by. We discuss the disconnect between what the Law is vs. how it is portrayed by today's modern church cultural perspective. In the New Testament, we are admonished not to sin, and also that sin is the transgression of the Law. How are we to stay away from something that we know nothing about?
