Sylvia Shults, the historian who has studied her life more than anyone else, and Dutch psychiatrist Bert van der Laan, help me delve deeply into the life and history of "Rhody," who spent most of 44 years in a "Utica Crib," gouged out her own eyes, was studied by "alienists" worldwide, and just perhaps, created a tulpa before her life fully deteriorated.
