In slightly more than ONE WEEK, Kamryn goes under the knife. TODAY, she talks about how this process is so freeing in the way it’s going to cut away some of the damage she’s done to herself in service of people who didn’t want her to be the person she actually is and how it’s opening up space in her life she was too cramped to move around in.This episode is musically inspired by “Contortionist” by Arankai This episode’s strain is Cherry GorillaMusic promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.comCreative Commons / Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/deed.en_USFollow Kamryn @TranosPod on TikTok@TheTranos on Twitter, @TranosLives on Instagram

This episode of Tranos is a reflection on Kamryn’s history with addiction. She revisits how painful it was to live in the closet and how that led her into the care of a therapist who put her on the 50s housewife treatment plan of 24/7 Valium. This week, Tranos addresses some barriers to her piece. Though Tranos & the Lived Experience is striving to generate more positivity and comfort, certain people in the world are making it hard to focus on that. This episode examines the fake outrage on the right about Dylan Mulvaney’s brand deals with Bud Light and Nike. She’s an unobjectionable, white trans woman, and June’s coming up. It’s the most usual thing in the world, but conservatives and their figureheads are mobilizing boycotts where they buy a bunch of product and destroy it- which is not what a boycott is. But this misguided, flailing, ineffective outrage is drowning out important discussion about actual serious stuff like Tennessee lawmakers illegally attacking democracy in their state. There are layers of distraction that need to be peeled away before Kamryn can find room to focus on herself, but she’s still working to find that balance. This episode is musically inspired by “Like A Villain” by Bad OmensThis episode’s strain is Han Solo BurgerOur theme music is “Supernova” by Arthur Vyncke | https://soundcloud.com/arthurvostMusic promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.comCreative Commons / Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/deed.en_USFollow Kamryn @TranosPod on TikTok@TheTranos on Twitter, @TranosLives on Instagram
This week, Kamryn talks about a recent breakthrough: She went out in public at night. She’s struggled for a long time with feeling safe enough to venture into the dark, and she finds herself in a place where that can be an option now. She outlines the ways her trauma contributes to her agoraphobia and how her agoraphobia hampers her mental health, and she talks about how she’s working to care for herself though this cycle-breaking process.“Point #1” by ChevelleThis episode’s strain is Kosher KushOur theme music is “Supernova” by Arthur Vyncke | https://soundcloud.com/arthurvostMusic promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.comCreative Commons / Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/deed.en_USFollow Kamryn @TranosPod on TikTok@TheTranos on Twitter, @TranosLives on Instagram
