I hope you're staying safe & well.  National News:  The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is apologizing for turning away two people eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations on Saturday because they could not prove they live in the United States. * Proof of residency  and citizenship are not required to get the vaccine, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services — UT-RGV spokesperson Patrick Gonzalez confirmed the university did not follow state protocol. More than 500k  have died from COVID-19 in the U.S. This week President Biden is asking Americans to mark the 500,000 deaths with a moment of silence at sunset Monday. He's also ordered flags on all federal buildings lowered to half-staff for five days. Celebrity News:  Bobby Shmurda is out of jail and  plans following his prison release being  low key -- he's going to have dinner with his mom and work on some music ! I've battled with self-doubt - anybody's worse nightmare..... well, At least 92 percent of the population.Because only 8 percent achieve their dreams (I'm pretty sure they've dealt with it too but didn't allow it to consume them)  Sometimes I compare myself too, which is terrible, honestly  But this weekend, I was listening to John Henry he's an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and was featured in Forbes 30 under 30 ( pretty dope) - he described the difference between having a brand and brand equity, and it resonated with my being. Too often, we ingest all the criticism that we fester in our heads or that people give us ( label it as constructive, and all of a sudden it's acceptable )  As I'm building my brands and myself - I began to reflect and realized how important it is to feel. You are passionate about something - your dreams - your work should always remember that, and if your passion reflects in your work, then you will evoke a feeling in the receiver  If your brand isn't associated with a feeling - then your logos mean nothing, your website means nothing - those are just meaningless fluff. But if I can create an environment where you feel something, then baby, I am building !! Sometimes we think we need the best logo, the best intro, the best background the best set - when all you need is for your audience to feel something.  In essence, you're selling a feeling - an experience.  Today's triggered made me realize something about myself, and maybe it resonated with you guys - but stop trying to perfect the logo and perfect the craft, make your audience feel your passion. This is why I never like the saying fake it til you make it - because when something isn't guiene, you can always feel the vibe. As the late great Maya Angelou said, when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. The thing is - I never believed them the first & so I caused my own heartbreaks. Navigating through your twenty-somethings is different; you hear something, but you may not comprehend then later - talk about a delayed reaction. I believed in chances ... sometimes too many, and the most insane part is I always knew the outcome of these air quote chances. Insanity, I know, but I hoped for different. I’ve suffered so many sleepless nights filled with agony from a broken-heart pouring out with disappointment because I didn’t believe people the first time - not just romantically, in friendship & even business. Expectations will rob your joy. Stop breaking your heart trying to play God over someone’s life. The truth is people don’t change, at least not for you. Moving forward, I ask myself this, and I’ll ask you this too, whether in love, friendship, business & life : Does this person embody the things you deem morally important? Do they align with your inner reflection of self? Stop breaking your heart trying to play God over someone’s life. The truth is people don’t change, at least not for you. Invest the love you give so freely to others into yourself Yesterday, I sat alone in my room doing crossword puzzles, and although I'm heavy in this dating game - single but ready to mingle covid edition.  I began to realize that I'm okay with being alone & I'm big extrovert vibes.  I can sit and be alone without the company of my phone, without any noise, just me and my crossword puzzles. I could never relate to bored people;  I always had something to do. Being alone made me realized how happy I am with who I am. This wasn't always my case; I reflected on the times that I needed constant validation.  I was surrounded by miserable people that looked beautiful on the outside and so sad on the inside.  Maybe you aren't lonely or bored or need a link; maybe you just cant sit with yourself and make peace with your demons.  *disclaimer* being okay alone is very difficult; I'm just sharing my truths but move at the rate that feels comfortable for you.
