"Praise freakin be"
The lockdown is on its way out, and so are we. A lot has gone on since our extended break and we are back to talk some trash and treasury for the last time... for now.
We are talking #FreeBritney. For years this hashtag was treated as a joke and a conspiracy theory, but it turns out the fans calling to #FreeBritney were right all along. Britney is finally speaking out, and she is aaangry.
And it turns out Gilead does kind of make you an arsehole. And while Grace thinks the show is depressing AF, Miranda was here for every second.
We also talk about MAFS, superannuation and Mare of Easttown and a whole variety of other stuff that's been happening in the 19th month of 2020.
So, under his eye bitches.

"I don't know how to put this eloquently... it depends on how much you need dick in your life."
-Georgia from Married at First Sight, 7.30pm, Channel 9
Yes, that's what has been happening four times a week at this family friendly TV slot, and that's probably one of the more appropriate dialogue exchanges. As the final couples say their vows tonight, we look back at this season of MAFS - from the (minimal) highs to the (numerous) lows. We gush over some of our faves (of course Booka and Brett, Brett, Brett, Brett, Brettttt) and cringe over the rest. What's good, papi!?
Say what you will about MAFS, there's no denying it's sparked a national conversation about toxic relationships behaviours, but does the end justify the means? How is this an 'experiment' and how are these people 'experts'? So holy moly guacamole, it's our Season Three finale MAFStravgenza!!

What do rhinos, hyenas, a stabbing tree, a submerged coral reef and a tourniquet have a common?
A really, really less than ideal situation. One where literally nobody should be alive.
And they're also all featured in a show that Miranda likes to watch while sitting in her warm and dry bed with a plate full of food and watching people suffer. For Trash this week, Miranda tells Grace all about some of her favourite tales from the show 'I Shouldn't Be Alive', which happen to be both tragic and terrifying but also deeply hilarious.
And over in Treasury, we're talking about the award-winning Canadian musical 'Come From Away' which just finished it's run in Melbourne theatres. With the most unlikely premise for a musical ever, 'Come From Away' is beautiful, uplifting and simply good for the soul. We talk about the true stories that inspired the musical, and reveal that we actually have no idea what the saying "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" means. So come on and kiss the fish!

"Rude and racist are not the same." - Meghan Markle
This week we got the reigning Kween herself (Oprah) interviewing our second favourite Kween (Meghan) who dishes the dirt on the real British Queen herself, and her problematic entourage. From Oprah's hard hitting questions, to Meghan's traumatic experiences whilst being part of the 'firm', the biggest question we have is...'who the hell knew the Royal family had a HR department?'
And over in dreamland we venture into the beautiful and witty TV series the Marvellous Mrs. Maisel. Despite the fact that if a drunken lady walking onto a stage and flashing her boobs may not even get you viral on YouTube these days, things were a little different back in the late 50s. Midge Maisel waltzes into comedy with numerous hilarious hurdles and many more stunning gowns. From the creators of Gilmore Girls... join us for a gushing session on why everyone should watch this delightful show...

This week we are bringing back a classic Trash and Treasury Ep from Season 1.
As we were unable to record, we thought it would be totally appropriate to play the episode about the Monarchy, Harry and Megs and all our hot takes from before the epic Oprah interview.
We also discussed doomsday preppers which has been an all round fan favourite of the show so far, and and a throwback to Australia's toilet-paper-gate.
Enjoy this classic and see you all next week!

"He struck a match and he aimed it straight at this building, at us."
Joe Neguse, Impeachment Manager
This week we take a peak under the crusty orange man's toupee at what the hell happened in the US on January 6 2021. We explore how Donald J Trump gets impeached a second time, but gets let off the hook yet again. Even though the trial failed, we discuss why it was still an important exercise for democracy and truth telling. History has its eyes on you Donald.
For life's distraction this week, we're heading down Firefly Lane. Or as some are calling it... Firefly Lame. Based on the books by Kristin Hannah, it's the less depressing version of This Is Us with female friendship firmly at the centre. It's as cheesy as a cheap lasagne from a truck stop bain-marie, and we are going back for seconds.

"The plot is as thin as a London society belle; the unsurprising dramatic developments are delivered with the subtlety of a sledgehammer; the characters are mostly caricatures; and anything vaguely notable is constantly repeated." - Rotten Tomatoes review of Bridgerton from The Age
Bridgerton has been praised as a new and edgy show from Shondaland. Full of crazy sex scenes and hunks o' burnin' love... However, we are failing to figure out how many brothers there actually are, what's so sexy about the sex scenes, and how its essentially a try-hard version of The Great. (Not to mention the ridiculous and comedic use of the pull-out method...) So should we burn for Bridgerton like Daphne says to the Duke? Or should it go down in flames?
And Hilaria Baldwin was a mildly successful New York yoga instructor most well-known for being Alec Baldwin's Spanish wife. Until a tweet in December 2020 accused her of impersonating a Spanish woman and blew the lid off what people are calling the biggest cultural appropriation scandal since Rachel Dolezal. So is this an open-shut case of cultural appropriation? Or do people just love tearing down skinny women who've had 5 kids and are rich? Come on baldwinitos, let's talk about cultural appropriation.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" - William Congreve 1697
This week we're finally talking about "Promising Young Woman", Emerald Fennel's directional debut starring Carey Mulligan and a who's who of Hollywood. It's the black comedy thriller that deals with themes of sexual assault to a soundtrack of Britney and Paris Hilton. So what does revenge look like in the era of the #MeToo movement?
And buy, buy, buy - we're also talking about GameStop!
It's the incident where Redditor trolls managed to screw privileged hedge funds out of billions. We answer the stock market questions you've been wondering about but at this point you're too afraid to ask. Whats GameStop? What's shorting the market? And most importantly, why should we care?

"Prince Charles is the actual worst" - everyone who has watched season 4 of the Crown.
Netflix's royal drama the Crown is in fine form this season, with breathtaking portrayals of Princess Diana and Margaret Thatcher. But, we have a lot of questions - Did this stuff really happen? How was Princess Margaret smoking 60 cigarettes A DAY? How do I reconcile my hatred for Margaret Thatcher the politician with my love for Gillian Anderson and her amazing portrayal? And most importantly, how do we get justice for Princess Di?
And one minute you're dating someone, it's going well and next thing you know you're being ignored - no replies, no contact, no explanation - you just got ghosted. It's the spooky break-up style that millennials love. But why do we do it and is there a better way?

From 'Let's Get Physical' to 'Am I Not Pretty Enough', our bodies seriously can't catch a break. We squeezed into corsets, morphed into pointy bra's, sashayed into high heels and injected our faces with paralyzing bacteria.
This week we discuss how seriously screwed up our societies image of the 'Perfect' body is, and how it's particularly bad in the last 100 years.
And over on a backyard barbie down undah, some flamin' galahs are having surprise babies in school toilets. That's right, we're talking about the new Aussie show 'Bump' and all the questions we still have about how 'Cryptic' pregnancy can be.

"White pawn to Queen's Bishop Four"
We've been practicing our Sicilian defence and we're ready to become chess Grandmasters. From drugging kids in orphanages to the gender dynamics of the world of chess, check mate - we're talking all things the Queens Gambit. Let's play!
And you've heard the term Watergate, but what does it mean? It's the political scandal that has named all scandals that came after. Cable-gate. Gamer-gate. Email-gate. Pizza-gate. Fart-gate. Toilet Paper-gate. It's the scandal involving secret tapes, journalists, and an anonymous informant called 'Deep Throat'. Before there were Trump's impeachments, there was Nixon.

"I will wear whatever and blow whomever I want as long as I can breathe and kneel" - Samantha Jones, Sex and The City
Pour yourself a Cosmopolitan because this week are talking a walk through Manhattan in our Manolo Blahniks with Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte. We couldn't help but wonder, is Sex and the City incredibly problematic or is it still one of the best and most iconic shows of all time?
And we're also going to be talking about Catfish, the phrase coined by Nev Schulman in the documentary and TV show of the same name. It's the phenomenon where someone pretends to be someone they're not when starting a relationship online. What drives people to do this and what happens when the truth inevitably comes out?

"I spent the rest of the day wondering....do I have a massive asshole?"
- Fleabag
Phoebe Waller-Bridge's one-woman-play turned Netflix show Fleabag is equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking. We discuss why we can't tear our eyes away from the fourth wall breaking black comedy and we have a fairly spirited debate over which season is better.
And we're also going to be talking about big data, from the Cambridge Analytica/Facebook scandal to Trump trying to ban TikTok. How much data do social media apps have about us? Is it helpful to get adds and messages perfectly suited to us or is it something far more sinister?

"That b*itch must own a Sunglasses Hut because she is so f*cking shady" - Evil Christine, Selling Sunset.

And speaking of tight-knit, intense and manipulative groups of people, we'll also be talking about cults. We recount the happenings at some infamous cults, from mass suicide to America's largest incident of bio-terrorism. Don't drink the Kool-aid!
