Description
Kurt Money and Kateline take an episode of true crime television and clean it up, talking about the case covered and how the show covers it. Some shows are really good at it, like your Datelines and what have you. Other shows are not so good at it, like the long-forgotten Exhibit A: Secrets of Forensic Science...and we talk about them too!

Kurt Money and Kateline kick off the new era of iLH....TRUE CRIME CLEANUP ON AISLE H!!! For the first ep under the new banner, K$ forces Kate to watch the Graham Greene Canadien true crime classic, EXHIBIT A: SECRETS OF FORENSIC SCIENCE (1997). A 67-year-old woman is murdered in her home in a 1992 Toronto. Was it her husband of 40 years? Or the son-in-law handyman? Or maybe, just maybe...the paperboy? ALSO...Sexy saxophoning saves lives! Striation-free bullets! Credit score pie charts!! It's all here in the first episode of TRUE CRIME CLEANUP ON AISLE H.
Kurt Money and Kateline celebrate a killer season of I'm Lester Holt with 5 categories of awards to hand out as well mourning those we lost with a touching In Memoriam that will SHOCK you so be sure to listen to the end!
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the murder of Christine Schultz by her ex-husband, Elfred Schultz, and how in 1982 Laurie Bembenek got convicted for it and Elfred Schultz lived a full and happy life as a free man. The backbone of this episode is the "Deadly Divorce" episode of THE PERFECT MURDER, but you know that K$ Read That Book™ and has plenty of additional info to prove to Kateline why THE PERFECT MURDER got it wrong and how the cops involved in the case are the King Dingus Supremes of all Deptuy Dinguses for their handling of the case in 1980 and sticking to their BS story today. The books read were RUN, BAMBI, RUN by Kris Radish and Laurie's own book, A WOMAN ON TRIAL.
In March of 1960, Sharon Kinne says her two-year-old daughter "accidentally" shot her husband while he was cleaning his gun. Months later, the wife of Sharon's former side piece is found dead...by Sharon's current side piece, with her in the car. Four trials (and years) later, another murder happens in Mexico. Is Sharon Kinne a serial killer, a misunderstood girl with stars in her eyes, or perhaps the luckiest murderer of all time? Kurt Money and Kateline break down this fascinating case and talk about the THRILLING update to the Sharon Kinne saga that happened in January of 2025. The basis for their conversation is the A Crime To Remember episode, "Lucky Be A Lady," as well as an Unsolved Mysteries on the case and a frankly offensive book that K$ read about the case.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss that one time in New Jersey in 1999 a guy found a barrel under his house and it totally had a body in it...and so much more! Their sources today are an episode of Buried in the Backyard and OF COURSE, Forensic Files!!!
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the 2019 of Dateline, “Stone-Cold,” about the murder of Nick Morelos in Tucson, AZ, hosted by the one and only, Josh Mankiewicz. Unlike most victims of Dateline episodes, Nick wasn’t exacted beloved at his workplace. But it might have been because he was such a ladies man? NOTE: Listen to the end of the episode for life-altering news about the future of I’m Lester Holt.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the Season 22 episode, "The Stranger," hosted by Keith Morri—Excuse me, I mean, it's a Keith Morrison mystery!!!! Brittany Tavar and her two dogs went missing in July 2010 in St. Augustine, Florida. Is she just a woman out and about? Was it the lady who she choked and hit with a wine bottle? Or was it the drifter roomie who lied about being able to burn DVDs and probably about whether he trimmed his nails regularly? Better listen to find out!
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the 2015 murder of Kelley Clayton orchestrated by her husband Tom Clayton, former hockey star, who was nearby playing poker for his alibi. The two breakdown Dateline's coverage of the case in their episode, "The House in the Woods," hosted by Andrea Canning.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the AC hosted Dateline episode about the Karen Read verdict that aired on Thursday. K$ and KL agree on how John O'Keefe died but disagree THE MOST THEY HAVE EVER DISAGREED ON ANYTHING on the outcome of the trial. Holtheads, this is the DAMPEST episode in the history of the show. Enjoy!! NOTE: We covered this case last October when Dateline originally aired it as, "The Night of the Nor'easter." If you are unfamiliar with this case, go check out that episode now (#54) to get the usual breakdown from us. This episode is a little different from our usual in that it is mostly our reaction to the verdict and new evidence presented in the second trial.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the 2019 episode of Dateline, “Return to the Early Shift,” hosted by Jmank. The pocket-squared all-star covers the death of Michelle Mockbee in Kentucky in 2012. Was it her husband and co-worker, Dan? He did cash in a $400,000 insurance policy and his alibi is simply sleeping. Or….could it be one half of another married couple who also work at the same company? Perhaps…but the funniest part of this Dateline is how there has to be a retrial because the prosecutor and main detective had a secret love affair and also someone rips their pants. It’s a pretty great Vault ep and K$ and KL are excited to break it down!
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the 2015 episode, "What Lies Beneath," hosted by Murphdog! We tried to watch the repeat they played on Friday but it's still not on Peacock so we went back to the vault for a cold case classic about the murder of Lynne Friend in August of 1994. No body, no witnesses, no DNA, no clues. Will the US Navy be able to help law enforcement reach the depths necessary for closure? This is in Murphdog's hood, Miami baby, so you know he crushes it!
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock classic, Rear Window. Just kidding! We've made a trip to the Vault™ to find an old episode from Season 24, "Rear Window," hosted by Andrea Canning. Hitchcock does get a mention though by AC! This was a blast to talk about and has some classic detective hijinks to get some DNA from a suspect. Four attempts are made! Listen now to find out. Also, zero landlords are talked about in this episode. Kateline is absolutely convinced there are.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the Season 31 banger hosted by the one, the only, DENNIS "MURPHDOG" MURPHY! The two are supremely pumped to have a Dawg ep to discuss and one so good as this, even if it is a repeat and Murphdog hasn't hosted a Dateline since March 15th, 2024. "Footprints in the Snow" is about the disappearance of Jonelle Matthews in Greeley, Colorado, in December, 1984 and the 35-year search for her remains and the person responsible for her death. There are a few possible suspects and while K$ and KL do not see eye to eye on who was arrested for the crime, they 100% agree that Jim Matthews, Jonelle's father, DID NOT DO IT!!! Check out the video version of the podcast dropping on YouTube by Wednesday and check out our Patreon "Aisle H", where for $2 a month you get two exclusive episodes a month on Dateline-adjacent content.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the 2012 Staten Island murder of Simeonette Mapes-Crupi. Was it her husband, Jonathan's sneaker collection that inspired a burglary gone wrong? Or was it the silencing of a witness who saw a gang member murdered across the street? We're not spoiling but we can tell you the murderer went to the only hardware store ever mentioned on Dateline, Home Depot! This episode is not sponsored by Home Depot but it is sponsored by Shakespeare's MacBeth. The Dateline episode discussed is "The Secrets of the Sliding Door" that originally aired on NBC on May 4th, 2025, hosted by Keith Morrison. Check out the video version of this podcast posting on the YouTube page tomorrow! And search "Aisle H" on Patreon to get two bonus episodes a month about Dateline-adjacent content!
Bryan Kohberger Facing Death Penalty For 2022 University of Idaho MurdersWhat's this?! A new iLH on a MONDAY?! That's right!!! This is our new pod drop date, Holtheads. This way we're only two days after the Dateline has aired. Plus, K$ has been completely forgotten by the sport of NASCAR and all those hiring edit gigs for it, so he no longer feels obligated to watch all three races every weekend. With that out of the way, let's talk about the University of Idaho murders in 2022 and about the trial coming up in 12 weeks that might end in a firing squad death sentence. Early in the morning of November 13th, 2022, in Moscow, Idaho, a masked intruder believed to be Bryan Kohberger broke into an off-campus residence of four University of Idaho students and murdered them with a knife he bought off Amazon. The four victims were Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. Kohberger was arrested a month later and faces a charge of first-degree murder. His trial is set to begin August 11th, 2025, in Boise, Idaho. In their May 9th episode entitled, “The Terrible Night on King Road,” Keith Morrison and Dateline reveal new information about the case like security footage of Kohberger’s 2013 white Elantra driving by the house numerous times before parking nearby and speeding away just 7 minutes later at 4:20am. Also revealed are Kohberger’s google searches around the time of the stabbing, including watching videos about serial killer, Ted Bundy, a remix of Britney Spears’ “Criminal”, searches for a KABAR knife on Amazon, and selfies of himself posing like Bundy. He idolized Bundy and other killers like Son of Sam, David Berkowitz. The prosecution will be pursuing the death penalty for Kohberger while the defense is planning on arguing that his autism diagnosis should remove that from the table. If he is convicted and sentenced to death, Kohberger will be the first inmate on death row in Idaho to be executed via firing squad since a new law was signed last Spring. Kurt Money and Kateline co-host a podcast about each new Dateline episode and go in detail about this episode, the events that led up to the murder on November 13th as well as critique Dateline’s coverage of the case. keywords: bryan kohberger, brian koberger, ted h7ndy, zanna, coberger, keith morrison, dateline, moscow idaho, washington state university, britney spears, criminal song, remix
Real talk, Holtheads. Kurt Money and Kateline were not crazy about this episode of Dateline either. We hate having back to back misses, but here we are. Fear not! There is still a lot of interesting stuff to talk about (like the verdict reaction in court) and it is most likely just missing some info because Dateline did not have access to the prosecution, defense or the true crime show, Cold Justice, for their side of the story. This podcast episode is a blast, however, because even a swing-and-a-miss from Dateline is a true crime 7/10 for K$ and KL and they love talking about it. Plus, K$ squeezes in a killer Shaggy joke that he’s proud of. Hint…it WAS me! Boom, there’s another. This episode is about the death of Anita Knudson in June, 2007, in Minot, North Dakota. After her dad finds her body in her bedroom it takes almost 20 years to bring it to trial. And even then…the justice remains cold. One thing is for sure though, Tyler didn’t do it!
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the newest episode of Dateline, "The Devil's in the Details." Michael Cochran passes out, hits head and dies five days later. Was this an accident? A side effect of his steroid use? Or part of an elaborate plan (among many other side plans) at the hands of his grieving ex-wife, Natalie? K$ and KL were not crazy about this episode but they had a lot of fun discussing it. So maybe they loved it?!
Jasmine Pace goes missing in Chattanooga, Tennessee, during Thanksgiving 2022. Finding her is up to the police—lol, who are we kidding? They didn't do a thing. It was a holiday weekend, for crying out loud! Luckily the Pace family is here to step in and be the most badass family in grieving Kurt Money and Kateline have ever seen.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the newest Friday episode of Dateline about the murder of celebrity hairstylist Fabio Sementilli at the hands of his wife, Monica Sementilli and her lover, the former porn star/current sex offender boyfriend, Rob Baker. You might be thinking, hey what's with the spoilers?! But the title of the Dateline spoils who the killer is anyway and Kateline is NOT here for it. Check out the video version on YouTube dropping tomorrow and join our Patreon, Aisle H, for $2 a month and two bonus episodes!
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the newest episode of Dateline, "Deadly Obsession," which aired Friday, April 4th, 2025. Hosted by our girl AC, this episode was loved by one of the hosts and not so much by the other. Can you guess who didn't like it? Here's a hint...there's more trial than usual. Where is my puffy coat?!?Be sure to check out the video version of this episode on our YouTube tomorrow, Friday. And search "Aisle H" on Patreon to find us where for $2 a month we talk about other true crime shows and some fake ones too!
