this is soooo much off tangent chatter. Like it was alot, you could have got to the story much quicker and built up the suspense of the story. But i felt my mind wondering... first ep tho so looking forward to how it goes from here. It looks like people like it so will stick with

just a little FYI about adoption in Japan (episode 19) - you can adopt in Japan but the system is has serious issues. The main problem is that regardless of the severity of the reason for a child being taken away the biological parents still have to approve of their child being adopted out or even allowed to be in foster care. if they don't approve the child must stay in an orphanage. Even if a parent has voluntarily put their kid in an orphanage or if the legal system has declared the parents unfit they still have control over their child's life - from where the kids go to school to any field trips they take to, their medical care, etc. If you do luck out and get the ok to adopt from the parents you still a long road ahead of you. you must get the typical background and financial checks, you must get permission from YOUR parents, you must attend several classes and lectures, and then you must volunteer in an orphanage for 80 hours (only the wife has to do this part. sexist right?).
