I wonder if you can see yourself in one or more of their stories. Have a listen and let me know.

COURAGE CHAT #6 Hello Helpers – – you’re going to realise that help is all around if you know where to look for it.
You can do anything even when life gets tricky. Tricky times (hello Coronavirus), tricky things (starting something new or doing something for the first time) and I guess we could probably add tricky people into the mix. Life is full of trickiness, but when we believe in ourselves and we believe that we can handle anything life throws our way, it feels less scary and more peaceful. As the drama of the Corona Crazy unfolds, I want to help you feel as peaceful as possible.
What would your life feel like without all those worries? Wouldn’t it be lighter, freer and feel so much easier! Of course, it would! In today's episode, I'm going to share with you some things that I think everybody needs to understand about their worries so that they don't take over your life.

The way you start your day really sets the tone for what's to come. Do you start slow and feel ready for the day ahead? Or are you rushing about stressed - not able to enjoy it for fear of being late or forgetting something? Today I'm going to share with you how you can make mornings more enjoyable and less stressful. I want you to start your day with a smile! Not one on your face - that would be nice, but even if you're grumpy in the morning, you have an inner smile that you can activate.
The Coronavirus has become a global pandemic and changed our daily life as we know it. The planet has slowed down, the schools are shut and people are being asked to stay at home. With all this time on our hands, can we turn this to our advantage or are we drowning in a sea of worry and feeling stuck with nothing to do. Let's have a chat about that.
Life is full of unknowns and uncertainty. It really helps to know how to navigate unchartered territory without letting fear overwhelm you. It's true to say that we all suffer with a little self-doubt sometimes. What if it doesn't turn out okay? Am I making the right decision? In this episode, I'm going to show you a little Smiley trick  that helps you tune in to your inner voice and find your way. 'You can't do your best when you're doubting yourself. Smiley’s message for November This month the message is about finding our place in the world. Listen to the message and learn how you make a difference and bring your own brand of awesomeness to the world. This might be helpful if you are nervous or not feeling very confident. We can chat about the things which might be holding you back. Also in this episode, you'll wander into the filing cabinet of your mind and remove all the folders which tell you that you can't do things. Anything is possible and I want to show you that you can do it and you can believe in yourself!   What you'll hear this episode:  On the last Sunday of every month, I usually go live on my Facebook Page to give out messages to all the children (and Mums!) who want them. The energy of the cards is powerful and will now be broadcast on the podcast to all the families that need to hear what they have to say. The Smiley Thought Cards give inspiration to so many! We can draw strength from their wisdom. The cards want the very best for us. This is also an opportunity for us to stop and go within. We need to make time to do that. It's a great life skill to teach children. To reflect and help ourselves. It's October half term here in the UK and as exciting and fun as it is to have so much time and space away from school, I also know that into that space jumps sibling squabbles, endless requests for more sweets, screens and other items that require strict limits. Hold those boundaries firm - don't let the giddyness of the holidays weaken your resolve!
Life is a series of endings and new beginnings - a bit like chapters in a big book. With any ending comes loss and grief. Sometimes we have to grieve for situations and people who are still alive. Like when a family breaks up or when our friends move away. Death however is slightly different. It is part of life, but something which remains a mystery to us all. I've created this episode to help children understand death and make sense of it according to their little world. We will all have different beliefs about death and dying. Nobody is right or wrong because really we don't know! Children have curious minds that are full of questions. When we don't understand or we can't make sense of something, it feeds our fear and anxiety. This episode will be reassuring, comforting and validating for those of you that have lost a family member, somebody you love or even a pet. We mustn't be afraid to talk about death because when we project our fears on it and avoid it as a topic, we make it more scary for children. It's important to keep the language age-appropriate and ask questions - allowing children to draw their own conclusions.  Helpful Stuff for Parents: You may like this blog post So Long Farewell! Smiley’s message for October This month the message is about sadness - allowing your tears to fall and wash away your sadness. Listen to the message and learn how to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. This might be helpful if you are worried or angry. Often that's a sign that there is something lurking underneath all those big feelings. In this episode you'll also get to meet your Smiley guard dog who will help you with your sads and protect you from other people's judgement or awkwardness when you cry.  You can come and listen to this whenever you need to.  What you'll hear this episode:  On the last Sunday of every month, I usually go live on my Facebook Page to give out messages to all the children (and Mums!) who want them. There is a massive block around my work and Facebook. I'm not going to waste any more of my time trying to understand that. The energy of the cards is powerful and will not be stopped because despite what other people are thinking or making it mean, kids need to hear this stuff! The Smiley Thought Cards give inspiration to so many! We can draw strength from their wisdom. The cards want the very best for us. Their energy is lovely and I didn't want the children to miss out on that. It's also an opportunity for us to stop and go within. We need to make time to do that. It's a great life skill to teach children. To reflect and help ourselves. So I've decided that the monthly message will be part of the podcast.  Smiley Thought Card for October: Photo Message: I let go of everything that makes me sadPhoto: girl blowing bubbles to set her sadness freeCard Type: Encourgement (sunbursts)Reverse Message: Share your sad thoughts and feeligs with a trusted grown up. Has anybody ever called you nosey? Is your brain like a crazy quizmaster constantly asking you questions and searching for answers? Does the thought of not knowing something leave you worried or scared? In today's episode my beautiful niece, Mia, is asking me all the questions about all the things. If you're curious - not nosey but curious and you want to find out my favourite colour, what I hate about my job, how I became The Smiley Coach and what makes me angry or sad, then you had better get yourself comfy for a really juicy episode! Let's dive in!
Today's episode is a little bit cray cray with lots of silly sayings to help you deal with rejection, loss, disappointment and failure. When you're a sensitive soul, these things can go straight to our hearts and are really ouchy.  Here's the thing: in life people and situations will disappoint us. We're all different and other people aren't like us. Sadly, the world isn't always as we wish it was! Another way of looking at it is that life isn't happening to us - it's happening for us. It's not personal, it's showing us the way. In this episode I want to show you how it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. When you feel as if it's not quite going your way, let's stop and have a think about what's really going on.  Helpful Stuff for Parents: You may like this blog post Are you taking it personally? Or this one How to Help your Child Bounce Back When They Feel like Giving Up.     Smiley coaching resources mentioned in this episode: You can download any of the replays of the Energy Pod classes here  (including the ones we talked about in this episode - disappointment, frustration, mistakes, sensitivity and respect).  If you haven't done already, buy a copy of my new book - Stuck Between Two Worlds here.  Join all the exciting discussions and share your creative gifts in Book Club.
