Even after multiple federal law enforcement investigations, Jeffrey Epstein's past remains murky. One thing is certain: His rise to wealth and power seems to defy conventional logic. Editor's Note: An earlier version of this episode attributed interim Dalton headmaster Peter Branch's comments to NPR; in fact, Branch made his comments about Jeffrey Epstein to The New York Times. Who is Ghislaine Maxwell, the Oxford-educated socialite who once jet-setted around the world with Jeffrey Epstein? His girlfriend? His confidant? Or was it something more nefarious? Was this charming, elegant woman an accomplice to crimes he committed against girls and young women? As Jeffrey Epstein continues to build a financial empire, he ventures West, buying a massive piece of property outside Santa Fe, New Mexico. It's a private cattle ranch -- set in desolate, untouched land -- and rumors would fly among locals as to just what was going on at the compound known as Zorro Ranch. Epstein's wealth may have been growing, but so was the scale of his alleged abuse -- this time, involving a 16-year-old girl who says she was lured to the ranch by Epstein under the guise of a student trip. When she arrived, she was the only student there. Jeffrey Epstein further expands his real estate empire with arguably his most extravagant purchase, a private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands called Little St. James, that he dubbed "Little St. Jeff." A contractor who did a lot of work on the island says he witnessed things he found terribly unsettling, including young-looking girls sunbathing on the beaches. And it was in this seemingly idyllic paradise where one woman alleges she had a terrifying encounter with Epstein that would forever change her life. Back in Palm Beach, local authorities build what they believe is a solid case against Jeffrey Epstein and they turn it over to the FBI, confident the feds will investigate and prosecute Epstein as the local police feel he deserves. Victims ?from Florida, New York and New Mexico are interviewed by the FBI ?over the course of two years -- and ?they are assured that the wheels of justice are turning. But what eventually happens stuns Palm Beach police and the women who, despite fearing for their safety, opened up old wounds to cooperate with federal investigators. How did the millionaire from Palm Beach, accused of sexually abusing potentially over 30 girls and young women across the country, end up spending just over a year in a local jail cell that allowed to come and go almost as he pleased? Just who was behind the "sweetheart" deal Epstein got, leaving victims both angry and betrayed? And new information from ABC News shows federal investigators knew even more years ago than has been previously reported about allegations against Epstein -- this time, surrounding a 14-year old girl in New York. This podcast was quite repetitive. It could have been finished in a while lot fewer episodes. They used the same interview clips multiple times which became boring after a while. There definitely wasn't much creativity presented here.

Powerful episode. Brave women. The truth, the reckoning will set you free. A cultural shift is happening for the better for sexual victims. The coward is gone. Weinstein is held accountable in prison. Ghislaine the writing is on the wall. Do you feel that chill coming for you.

After hearing every episode of the series, I've come to the conclusion that these woman are lying quite a bit but have the media to back and push the one sided narrative. There are plenty of more reasons as to why I've concluded that ie. one party not being alive, physically fit, or in a position to verbally defend and;or explain themselves on said parties behalf. That aside, these women are topsoil in this deep, deep, hole of an operation of the 1st class echelon. I'm under the impression Jeffery might have instigated a issue with the wrong person.... which eventually flipped the switch causing all of Jeffrey's connections coincidentally to fail him and lead to extremely negative worldwide exposure, as we as lawsuits against his estate, with a Judicial life sentence.

have his properties been investigated????? He may be gone but he wasn't the only one! The properties were created for the purpose of molesting or I would rather say torture of children so what about his properties

So the "news agency" that put together this podcast are totally glossing over the powerful people who went to Rape Island. But like what's said in this episode he's got money and can buy his way out of trouble. It'd also be nice if you did investigative journalism and look into his "suicide".

I am disgusted by that man who says he saw young girls on the island more than 25 times, then he says he has 2 young daughters and he never reported those other young girls being there, he just quit. that is wrong

I’m really happy with this podcast. It’s keeping the story alive. People don’t know what went on. Some of the worlds most powerful people were involved, and we need to make noise about it. I look forward to each episode.
