In today's episode, I talk about my experience with comparing my time in the podcast space to others. As I've compared my journey to others, I've noticed that the only time I find myself doubting my abilities is when I'm putting them up against others. In this episode, I talk about comparison and its negative effects on you, Bevy Smith's "Take a Note, Give a Note" and how the only real competition you have is yourself.

If you’re worried about what others think, listen to this episode.
After seeing a video of two women (who run a podcast) making fun of aspiring creators for posting online, I decided it was time for me to talk about the topic myself. I started this podcast with nothing. I just quit my job, I didn’t have a huge online presence, and I had no idea how or if Trying Not to Care would work. I looked at other podcasters who already had a huge following and loyal listeners. In doing that, I almost allowed the comparison of my show to theirs, to stop me from pursuing my spot in the podcast community.
In today’s episode, I talk about not allowing what others are doing/thinking to steer you away from doing what you want, why it’s not embarrassing to put yourself out there and how to fake it until you make it. Everyone is a "faux-fluencer" before they become an influencer. You have to start somewhere.

We've all heard of "pick me" girls or girls who refer to themselves as not like "the other girls." After watching a video of a girl talk about her disinterest in Taylor Swift, I started thinking about why some women try so hard to separate themselves from others. In today's episode I talk about why some girls refuse to share similar interests and opinions as other girls and why I personally love being like "other girls."

Recently I’ve noticed that I’ve been falling back into not so great habits of mine and honestly I’ve been struggling a little. When this happens, I know that the only way to get through it is to work through it. In today’s episode I talk about some things that I’ve done and am currently doing that make my life more enjoyable. By making an effort to do these things, I am much less frustrated, am more positive, more motivated, more grateful and more present.
Let me know some of you favorite things to do that help you when you’re feeling down and need to feel better!

Lately I've been reflecting on past experiences of mine where someone has hurt me. There's been plenty of times where I've fought fire with fire and tried to get even, but it never got me far. We've all heard the saying, hurt people hurt people but what if instead of hurting others back, we grow and heal instead? In today's episode I talk about breaking the cycle and getting better instead of bitter. I talk about why people hurt people, being the bigger person, letting your ego get in the way and turning negative experiences into positive ones.

Positive self talk is so important but it can only do so much when you don't believe the words you're saying. In today's episode I talk about why your affirmations aren't working and things you need to stop saying to yourself. The words you speak become the house you live in.

In my early twenties, I felt extremely lost and confused. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing with my life. I felt like everyone had it figured out while I wasted away. Now at 26, I can confidently and proudly say I know what my purpose is. In this episode I talk about how to find your purpose and why you may be struggling with finding it. I go over ways to discover it as well as reasons why you're delaying it.

It's very easy to beat yourself up/judge yourself for things that have happened in your past. As someone who has difficulty letting go of past mistakes, this episode is a gentle reminder to me and you to not hold the past over your head. It's not fair to blame yourself for things that have happened to you or things that you've done. Instead of shaming yourself by saying "I should have known better" congratulate your growth and say "now I know better."

In today's episode I talk about 5 things that I think make someone unattractive. We all can see when someone is physically attractive but I truly believe someone's behavior and how they treat others also influence this. I go over talking negatively about others, being insecure, being negative/complaining, competition and following trends. Through talking about how these 5 things make someone unattractive, I hope that it encourages listeners to want to better themselves.

In today's episode I talk about setting boundaries and sticking to them (despite others being unhappy about it.) We often get push back when we set boundaries, especially in friendships and relationships, which is why it's important to be clear with your expectations and stand your ground.
I talk about my experience in past relationships, learning that it's okay for others to not understand how you feel, walking away when a boundary has been crossed, the difference between boundaries and walls and figuring out what's important to you and your values.

I totally understand where you're coming from with this. It's often easier said than done when it comes to trying not to care about things that bother us. We're only human, after all, and our emotions can be quite powerful. https://www.cakeresume.com/me/prime-butcher-wrap One thing that has helped me is practicing mindfulness. It's about being present in the moment and acknowledging your feelings without judgment. It's not about suppressing your emotions, but rather observing them and letting them pass without letting them control you. https://soundcloud.com/prime-butcher-wrap
