Kenzie and Terry start the summer of 2024 off sharing their research about Elton John and Chris Stapleton. Learn about the origin of Elton John's name, Chris Stapleton lyrical storytelling, and much more about these two great artists! Also hear Terry talk about his discovery of the band, Of Monsters and Men and Kenzie's recent Luke Combs concert experience in San Antonio. Of course, stay tuned till the end as we reveal our next research assignments.
Kenzie takes a journey into the career of one of pop music's most successful duos, Hall and Oates. She shares her research of their early years, success in the 80s, and the most recent legal issues. Terry shares what he learned about how Adele became one of the most successful solo artists of all time, the music from her four albums, and even a fun fact about one of her phobias. As always, new assignments are shared at the end of the episode.
Episode 28 is an exploration of two bands that are 50 years apart in their early years. McKenzie takes a deep dive into the transformative 60s and early 70s band, the Doors and their mysterious lead vocalist, Jim Morrison. Terry tells about his listening experience and research about a new rock band that is rapidly growing in popularity, Great Van Fleet. Listeners will also hear about McKenzie's experience at a recent Taylor Swift concert in Seattle as well as some insights into the TV series, Daisy Jones and the Six.
This episode takes Terry into R & B and jazz territory as he shares his research about Amy Winehouse. He was given this assignment by Tuning In special guest, Hannah, Terry's niece. McKenzie had the pleasure of taking a deep dive into the catalog and history of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, as well as his solo stuff. As always, our cohosts revealed their next assignments at the end of the podcast.
In the 26th episode, Terry and McKenzie dive back into their research about two very eclectic artists. Terry explores the two albums and numerous singles of Billie Ellish along with her brother Finneas. McKenzie explores the musical archives of the jazz-rock fusion band, Steely Dan. This episode also is special as it features the first-ever Tuning In guest. Hannah (niece of Terry/cousin of McKenzie) shares her "Steely Dan" story. You will want to make sure you hear all about it. As always, two new music assignments will be revealed at the end of the podcast. This time, Hannah will announce Terry's assignment. Episode 25 takes Kenzie into prime 1980s pop culture with Tears for Fears. She shares her thoughts on their early days, stardom, and where they are as a band now. Terry takes a fun dive into the world of indie-pop. His assignment is a four-piece band from Vancouver BC that recently released their third album. He has some thoughts on where he thinks their music would fit perfectly.
This episode take Kenzie into the deep catalogue of music icon, Sheryl Crow. Listen to what she discovers about the diversity of Sheryl's music and how it relates to her childhood. Terry's research took him on a different path with exploration of the indie-pop rock band, Jungle. Learn about his thoughts on the band's sound, first three albums, live performances, and more!
In Episode 23 the co-hosts share their insights on an iconic surf-rock band and an up-and-coming R & B artist. McKenzie takes a dive into the catalog and history of the Beach Boys, and she explains how it has a connection to a TV show from her childhood. Terry researched Leon Bridges and explains why this assignment is among his top five so far.
Our hosts dive into their learning about Prince and the Zac Brown Band. Episode 22 takes Terry into some self reflection about a certain Zac Brown Band album and he compares it with a few rock albums. McKenzie shares her insights about her first serious listen to Prince's music as well as his legacy.
After a few months of hiatus, the father-daughter duo, Terry and McKenzie are back to share new musical insights. This episode features Terry's first dive into the life and music of Usher. McKenzie shares what she learned about the ever-changing lineups of the Doobie Brothers and what she thinks of their diverse music styles of the years. They also reveal two very intriguing artists for the next episode's content at the end of this podcast.
In the long-awaited 20th episode, Terry and McKenzie explore vastly different musical genres - a west coast rap artist and a very 80's rock band. yes, get ready to hear our co-hosts share their insights and research of Mackelmore and the Cars. Episode 17 take Terry and McKenzie to some exploration of two very stable bands that have enjoyed numerous hits. McKenzie's assignment was a dive into the career and music of the legendary quartet, U2. She has some fantastic takes about several of their songs, albums, videos, and even a certain album release on iTunes that many may remember. Terry's mission was focused on One Republic, a band he was familiar with but became much more acquainted with. Listen to what he thought about their music catalog, their live performances, and even suggestions about where they should take their sound progressions next.

In the first episode of 2021, McKenzie explores the history and music of one of rock's most famous trios, The Police. Learn about what songs resonated the most (and least), and hear about some very interesting fun facts about the group. Terry's assignment was about another boy band descendant, Justin Timberlake. In his segment, Terry dives into the solo artist's evolution from a pop foundation to extending his roots deep into soul and R&B.
