We'll be doing another episode soon on opportunities outside of Talking Therapies / IAPT - so stay tuned! In this episode, we discuss treating symptoms of emetophobia, with Anna Christie - an expert by experience who has gone on to treat hundreds of people with emetophobia, create several online resources to help in treating it, and authored a book for therapists on how to effectively navigate the treatment journey. If you've wondered what the best way is to proceed with exposure treatment for emetophobia (or want some advice that might also be relevant to other specific phobias), this is a wonderfully informative episode! Chelle sadly isn't with us for this episode as she's under the weather, but we're lucky enough to have this episode guest hosted by Fiona Greenhalgh, a recently-qualified CBT therapist working in a Talking Therapies service. ABOUT ANNA CHRISTIE Anna Christie is a psychotherapist, author and emetophobia specialist. Anna has a history of severe emetophobia and has been anxiety-free for over 20 years. Her new book, Emetophobia: Understanding and Treating Fear of Vomiting in Children and Adults is available from all good bookstores, including Amazon! Anna also runs a great website - https://emetophobia.net/ - which contains lots of great resources to conduct exposure work with clients, and she also hosts the Emetophobia Help podcast!
