If you know us personally, you know that we are suckers for sisterhood and community. So, in this episode, we decided to sit and bask in the joy of friendship, sisterhood and community. It started off with wondering what accommodation looked like for the average Ghanaian, but somehow, we ended up fantasizing about our future living spaces. Normal yapper flow. We talked about the cost of accommodation in Accra, what rent gets you at the absurd prices some of these property owners quote, and some of the horror stories from living in shared spaces with people. The length of this episode makes up for our being MIA, we hope. Whichever way, you'll surely enjoy it.If you'd like to share your roommate horror stories, we'd be more than happy to listen to them. You can share them in the comments, on your story, or even in a tweet. Just find a way to tag us. Word on the block is that these Accra streets is rugged. Looking for love is near mission impossible, and we wonder why. So, for this episode, we decided to dissect the dating scene and habits of our fellow Accra folk. From being afraid of wearing your hearts on your sleeve to absurd expectations thanks to the world wide web, our conversation shed light on what we think might be the cause of Accra's current dating situation. We definitely want to hear your thoughts and crazy Accra dating stories so please flood us with them! We promise you, we had a plan. And then we ended up ranting and yapping about everything but what we had planned to yap about. First, it was ranting about men and how they harass women on a daily basis, then it was getting giddy about our 'summer' plans. And then, somehow, we started making plans for the week. So this was a bit of everything, dynamic if you will. We hope you enjoy listening to this one. Let us know what your summer is looking like. You can follow us on Instagram & TikTok to keep us in the loop but you should also subscribe to the show if you haven't already, so you are not out of the loop. You Are The Moment

You Are The Moment

2025-02-0702:08:01

Sometimes, you have to pretend like you're the only one in the room and do everything you want to do, the way you want to do it. And Enyo's painting, She's The Moment, was a great catalyst for this week's conversation on loving and putting yourself first. Inspired by Omah Lay's Holy Ghost, She's The Moment captures and celebrates the liberation and freedom that comes with falling in love with yourself, and then taking the bold step of putting yourself first and doing everything that you want to do, simply because you are enough and deserving of all the things you wish for yourself. And of course, The Yappers shared personal experiences and reflections on this, especially when it comes to following our hearts and pursuing our dreams as artists. We hope you enjoy this conversation. Let us know which parts of it resonate with you most in the comments and we'll catch you on the next and last episode of this season. Do the needful too - follow us on Instagram & TikTok and subscribe to us here if you haven't already. Admit it, we are a lovely pair and you have such a great time whenever you press play. So don't be greedy! Share the episode. And go shop Enyo's prints!
Crossing The Flyover

Crossing The Flyover

2025-02-0301:57:37

Sometimes, healing and moving on looks like spiraling and crashing out and then pulling yourself through all of that and doing many little things that remind you that you are going to be okay. And that's what inspired this episode. The Yappers got together to watch Raat Rani, a story from Modern Love Mumbai, about Lali and how she pulls herself through heartbreak after she wakes up one morning and realizes that her husband, Latvi, has left her. We get into staying (and leaving) unhealthy relationships, what heartbreak has looked like for both of us and how the world around us has reminded us that we are going to get through the difficult days. But this conversation was not inspired only by heartbreak, it was also inspired by hope and the magnificence of women all over the world, and the magic we create when we choose to put ourselves first. We hope that you enjoy listening to this episode just as much as we enjoyed yapping. If you have made it this far, then you probably like us and enjoy what we do so, subscribe to the show on this streaming platform and follow our Instagram & TikTok so you're always in the loop and don't miss a beat. (And if it's anything less than that, please keep it. Seriously.) And share the episode so everyone knows we are doing great stuff in this little corner of ours! Okay, talk to you soon, mwah!
This week's episode is a special one - we got to sit down and have a very thorough breakdown of THE Anabel Rose's debut EP - Something About A Rose, and now you get in on the conversation too! From influences and inspirations, to alter egos and future plans, this episode has it all. We really enjoyed having this conversation and we are super grateful that we got to be a part of something so special. We are truly proud of you, Anabel! And don't forget that we called dibs on the album listening party, whenever that is. Stream Something About A Rose today and every other day because it is absolutely worth every replay and share on your socials so the world discovers the Rosalinda Gospel. We’ll be honest - getting back into the flow of things from our little break has been tough but what matters most is that we are still showing up. So here’s another episode from your favourite yappers :) This episode took a million and one turns because we decided to just wing the conversation. It was not inspired by any piece of art, we did not have any specific questions we wanted to ask each other and there weren’t that many profound thoughts to share. We did do a few vocabulary lessons though, thanks to the eloquent men of Accra, haha. Enjoy! In case you missed it, we're still voting for Yapper 2 for Artist of The Year in the 2024 Women's Achievement Awards Africa. Dial *447*714# or *800*714# and follow the prompts.  If you don't already, follow us on Instagram & TikTok. We're backkk! Did you miss us? Because we absolutely missed sitting down together to yap away. The plan was to talk about what our ideal life looked like but it quickly transformed into a conversation about getting through our fears and doing the things we say we will do. And then someway somehow, we ended up crying! But it was a great conversation, heavily inspired by Wayne Wang's Last Holiday, and a great way to kick things off for the year. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did recording it! Meanwhile, we're still voting for Yapper 2 for Artist of The Year in the 2024 Women's Achievement Awards Africa. It's The Little Things.

It's The Little Things.

It's been a very long and hard year, at least, for us Yappers. So we decided to use this episode to reflect on all the things that brought us joy, whether they were very grand things or nearly insignificant stuff. And we hope our trip down memory lane pushes you to do the same. It's the least you can do for yourself. We hope you enjoy listening to it. Also, vote for our very own Yapper 2, Enyonam, for Artist of The Year in the 2024 Women's Achievement Awards Africa. Dial *447*714# or *800*714# and follow the prompts. Let's bring it home, people! Nevertheless, We Yapped.

Nevertheless, We Yapped.

We had no plans of picking up our microphones this week but alas, here we are. We started the episode off by nagging about not being in the mood to yap and then went on to yap for an hour and forty minutes. We call ourselves Yappers for a reason oh.  This week, we are reacting to AITH stories from Reddit and ranting about uncouth bathroom practices. But as usual, the conversation took many turns. For a pair that did not want to record an episode, we ended up having a lot of fun and we hope you enjoyed listening to us.  Also, we are almost 10 episodes in so we know you know the drill by now but if you're new here, follow us on Instagram & TikTok so you're up to date with everything we get up to. Something old, something new, something blue, something borrowed. Or whatever they said. This week, we have a full house so we decided to get into a movie we watched - Something Borrowed. In this episode, we talk about unhealthy friendships and what's off-limits when it comes to girl code and men, we suppose. If you've seen the movie, let us know what you think of some of our takes. And if you haven't, this is your cue to go and watch a little madness unfold in the name of a rom-com. Don't forget to follow us on Instagram & TikTok to stay up to date with everything we get up to. Don't forget to subscribe to the show on your streaming platform so you never miss a beat. And leave a rating oh! #RoadToAwardWinningPodcast starts now, please. One Woman Is Good Enough

One Woman Is Good Enough

2024-12-0601:27:18

Another week, another yapping session! This week, we're talking about impact as creatives in an era where social media and virality seem to be the leading determinants of success. But are they really? Should they be? Listen to the episode to hear what we think. 'One Woman Is Good Enough' was inspired by an excerpt from Taylor Jenkins Reid's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. 10/10 read so definitely check it out, especially if it's on your TBR. If you're new here, follow us on Instagram & TikTok so you're up to date with everything we get up to. Subscribe to the show on your streaming platform so you never miss a beat. Girl, I'm Panicking.

Girl, I'm Panicking.

2024-12-0201:42:13

TW: self-harm, suicide, depression & anxiety. This week, our conversation is inspired by Girl, Interrupted, a movie that hits a little too close to home. In this episode, we get real about navigating mental health challenges; from dealing with anxiety and panic attacks to creating safe spaces for the people around us who are struggling in one way or another. We also share some of our personal experiences and explore how creativity can be a powerful tool to free your mind and process those heavy emotions. We hope this episode serves as a reminder to anyone having a tough time that your feelings are valid and you are not crazy. We hope you find the strength to do something, anything, that makes you feel better. But more importantly, we are not professionals and none of this is certified counsel. So please seek professional help if you need to. Don't forget to follow us on Instagram & TikTok to stay up to date with everything we get up to. We lived up to our name with this one. It is absolutely symbolic that the first episode we record with our equipment [finally!] is us reflecting on how we fell in love with art and the various experiences that have contributed to our individual artistic journeys. A major reason why we started this podcast was because we usually have so much to say after we watch a movie, or read a book or come across some other piece of art. And it usually ends up with us reflecting on our own lives. So after watching episode 1 of Daisy Jones & The Six, there was no way we could not have a conversation inspired it. In this episode, we reflect on the early days of falling in love with our respective art forms, the moment we decided to pursue them as careers and what that has been like. It was a really great reminder of why we are doing what we do and what lies ahead of us. We truly hope you enjoyed listening to our stories, and if it made you think a little more about your journey, please share your reflections with us in the comments. As usual, follow us on Instagram & TikTok to keep up with our shenanigans. Don’t forget to subscribe on your streaming platform so you never miss an episode. And drop us a rating, if you haven't already. #RoadToAwardWinningPodcast Same time next week?
She’s got the looks that kill…literally. This week, we dive into the world of Jennifer’s Body and get a little dark and twisted as we talk about what we'd do if we found ourselves in the middle of a summoning ritual, reveal some of our most irrational fears, and swap stories of eerie paranormal encounters. If you love a good mix of horror and humor, this episode is absolutely for you. Follow us on Instagram & TikTok to keep up with all the mischief we get up to. Don’t forget to subscribe on your streaming platform so you never miss an episode. And drop us a rating, will you? #RoadToAwardWinningPodcast is still very much underway! We’re ready for your reactions and horrors on socials, so tag us or use the hashtags #twoyappersinapod #TYIAP. Catch you on the next one!
