We've all heard the saying in James that faith without works is dead. Author of 'Half Time' Bob Buford says that faith without work dies. In both of these statements it's apparent that you can't have one without the other. If you have faith but don't work in that faith, your faith suffers. If you work but don't have faith in your work, your work suffers.  So what is faith? The Bible defines faith in Hebrews 11:1 as the substance or assurance of things we hope for but have not yet received. This topic has been something that has been constantly on my mind for many years now. Music is such an integral part of a human being’s person that they even have music therapy. Music is the only thing that can transcend both regions of the mind. Music works in the conscious and the subconscious mind. Music can have you involuntarily tapping your feet or nodding your head. Music can alter your mood. Music is that “sleeper” that people tend to over look. Music is a very powerful weapon. But where did music originate? Let’s go back and see.
