With half the world’s population under 30, sidelining young people is no longer an option. That’s according to UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, Felipe Paullier, who champions the determination and creativity of the world’s youth.He’s been at the World Summit for Social Development in Doha this week, issuing a strong call to action and urging world leaders to put young people at the heart of decision-making.In an interview with UN News’s Abdelmonem Makki, he said that real progress means making space, so young people have a main seat at the table: “They’re not waiting for us,” he adds, “they’re finding solutions.”

@1:59 who are the armed individuals pilfering food deliveries allocated for the kids? You didn't say. Are there descriptions? This action is despicable. I've heard that hamas has been offering relief supplies similar to those stolen, for sale to starving individuals. Any truth to this?

Agree that it is horrendous that aid workers are attacked, and this should never be. Problem is there are many partisans and enemy combatants allowed, or possibly encouraged, to hide among aid workers. Particularly within this particular 'aid' organisation. This too is horrendous and should never be.

The UN is very big and has a really huge budget that must perpetuate to feed their continued existence. In order to be successful in this actual objective, the UN must appear to struggle grasping at their always ever so slightly just out of reach publicly stated goals.
