After 4 episodes of UNPLUGGED with Nicki Marie, I've heard this from you:"Nicki, I love your podcast so far but I'm also wanting MORE" and "Nicki, keep slaying and please bring us some mindless humor / randomness into the podcast just like you do to our social feeds".So, I would like to introduce you to a less podcasty podcast, something digestible for anyone who just wants to listen to something that doesn't make them have to think.CHARGED UP with Nicki Marie is my mid-week mashup of what's cooking, what's trending and random everyday topics and questions.kick back, listen in and THINK LESS
Nicki is a former Sr. Executive in the business world, turned full time SAH (divorced) mom and social media queen.  Matt is an expert in leadership and human performance.  He has been coaching Nicki since her corporate leadership days and through their college (UCONN) sports connection, all the way to raising children through each of their divorces,  he has had a front row seat to Nicki's journey to recreating her life.  Matter of fact, he's a huge reason she has the stamina and grit to keep persevering through hard times.  SHE HAS DONE THE WORK with Matt leading her on a weekly basis. In today's episode, you will hear about parenthood after divorce from two perspectives, "his and hers", as Matt and Nicki each share their divorce journey and all things coparenting. This episode is packed with the hard truth about divorce as a parent but it's delivered with a growth-mindset perspective.  Matt and Nicki both have a positive approach to taking a high road with your ex, not only for the sake of your kids but for the sake of YOU.  The focus will be about self-growth, self-reflection and rebuilding your life (after loss). Life after divorce, life after loss of a dream you once had or even a shift in your adulthood plans:  The lesson is: it's your story to tell.  The future is up to you! So, get your pen and paper out, it's time to rewrite some of this so that you can go in the direction that you wish to go. Enjoy this conversation and please pass this episode along to anyone who might need to hear it. So glad you are here, Nicki
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is defined as - a type of love that is given freely, without conditions or expectations, and without regard for personal benefit.  WOAH. Read that again. AND AGAIN. If you're anything like me, you've always used the term "unconditional love" to define a deep feeling of connection with another. For me, it's indefinitely what motherhood feels like for me. But, outside of motherhood, how capable are we of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE? Talk about a thought starter! ... Let's take a deeper dive into this, as I invite you into a conversation about love and mental health from a lens that you probably (definitely) weren't expecting. Welcome, Kellie.  A mother, daughter, a sister, a wife and a licensed mental health professional in the prison system as well as the hospital emergency department for those who are mentally ill.  Kellie is the epitome of humanitarian.  Listening to her speak about her passion will certainly make you think about the people in your life and in the world around you.  How different our feelings are, how different our perspectives can be and how matters or the heart are never a "one size fits all".   The takeaway:  the importance of LOVING and showing up for our children, while also realizing how much further we have to go, as a society, when it comes to HURT / PAIN / SELF-LOVE and MENTAL HEALTH.   The disclaimer: this is a broad stroke on the topic of mental health and in this conversation we are diving into what it means to help others who are really looking to change their lives and change their outcome.  Love you all, thanks for listening. Ya girl - Nicki
I heard you loud and clear...you're in my DM's and in the comment section on IG, Facebook + TikTok whenever I talk about FRIENDSHIP IN ADULTHOOD, FRIENDSHIP in MOTHERHOOD and most recently, I tossed out the "how involved should I be with my kids friendships" question. So many of you are LONGING FOR CONNECTION but also overwhelmed on where to even pull time from in order to created more connection. Some of us are feeling disappointed in your adult friendships that exist and you're wondering if you should "break up" with a friend (and the guilt that comes with it). To continue the conversation, I felt it was only fitting for me to call up one of my real life BFFs, who I admire deeply. Please meet Jessa. She is a social emotional consultant specializing in helping kids with different developmental delays such as autism, ADHD and anxiety. She runs social friendship groups, helps parents navigate stages of parenthood, provides emotional regulation tools while incorporating mindfulness, yoga, healthy eating and exercise. She is a rockstar friend, wife, mother, daughter and is the epitome of SISTERHOOD (someone I deeply admire, if you couldn't already tell). Jessa has been there for me for some of the best and worst days of my life, and I am honored to introduce her to you. ️ She doesn’t spend a lot of time on social media but if you want to check out more of her, she’s at @socialandkind (I keep telling her the world needs more of her…) #socialemotionallearning #socialemotionaldevelopment #friendshipgoals #friendship #connection #momfriends #momlife #podcast #parenting #parentingtips
