#5: UX & Marketing (Creating value in different ways)

Often at the first glance, the goals of marketing and user experience design seem to be completely opposite to each other. So much that they might feel counterproductive to each other's aim. However it is not as it seems like. In this podcast, we start with the varying perspectives of both the domains and converge towards how they can actually learn from each other by embracing individual department's needs. Along the discussion journey we realise that it's not about which one (UX or Marketing) is more important. But it is about realising the potential these domains and giving each of them certain priorities by means of essential trade-offs. #4: Doors! (Push or Pull?)

Have you ever walked towards a door and tried pulling the handle and later realised 'Oh! I had to push' ? If yes, then you have encountered a Norman Door. Badly designed doors are everywhere! And the more you know about how the problem can be solved the more you notice them on daily basis. In this episode, we welcome our co-host Roxanne and discuss everything about the doors - From historical cultural significance to current simplistic functional designs. We also try to figure out the potential disconnect between various professions which might lead to such badly designed doors. Visit: instagram.com/ux_diary to check out the visual explanations.
