This week we are joined by Kenny Robison from Outta Luck Outdoors. Kenny has set a goal for himself that I think deep down inside we all secretly want to achieve some day and he’s hammering away at it. Alright everyone we’re back in action this week and kicking things off with Leland Brown of the North American Lead Free Partnership. They are a hunter-led conservation alliance, working to reduce wildlife exposure to lead by promoting voluntary use of non-lead ammunition. Now you might scoff at the thought of jumping to a copper bullet this fall but Leland has the data to prove the Effectiveness of these copper solids which we talk plenty on in the show. Regardless, it's our job as hunters to be stewards of the land before, during and after the kill. Things have gotten a bit crazy around here the last few weeks.   It is officially deer season in a large majority of the south and that is a reason to rejoice! It’s the best season of the entire year! Now if you’ve spent any decent amount of time in the woods you know that bad shots happen. We practice in the off season and wait patiently for the right opportunity to present itself but sometimes even when everything seems to be going right, something goes wrong. This isn’t the first time we’ve covered this subject but it's our first time getting to sit down with Chris with Bird Dog Drone Services and talk about deer recovery, herd analysis, and all the other services Chris offers. This definitely isn’t the first time we’ve covered the great loop, but if you weren’t already aware The Great Loop is a continuous waterway route that recreational boaters take around the eastern United States and parts of Canada.The loop is about 6,000 miles total, depending on the chosen path and most boaters take about a year to complete it in cruisers, trawlers or sailboats but not Robert. It’s no secret that nationwide invasive aquatic plants are a problem, it’s also no secret that people everywhere, generally speaking, don’t like the fact that herbicides are used in the attempted mitigation of invasive aquatic plants. Especially in Florida. Gator season is in full swing down here and the lizards are rolling in left and right and we figured you guys might be interested in the guys that trap these jokers year round down here. During gator season anyone with a tag can go out to their respective areas and harvest a gator but the rest of the year someone has to be responsible to doing the remedial task like pulling a 7 footer out of your swimming pool or 9 footer out of the pond behind your house because he gave fido an I’m gonna have you for dinner look. When we say it’s hunting season down here in Florida it could mean any number of wild creatures from whitetail deer, to iguanas, hell it could even mean pythons!   If you’ve been following the hunting politics here in Florida you’re more than aware of the fact that we have had some very serious discussions about getting ourselves a bear hunt. We did have a hunt back in 2015 that came close to meeting the quota in just around 2 days subsequently triggering the closure of a scheduled week-long season. That hunt was a publicity nightmare to say the least. We’ve already had 1 meeting this year that went well for the hunters back in May and now it's time for the final ruling on the bear hunt and to establish a season for later this year. This meeting will be held in Havana Florida on August 13 and hunters need to pack the room. Considering I was raised in the flatwoods of Florida, when I think of fishing in the saltwater I really don’t think of anywhere else but the state I call home.
